I am a "doctor" ... I have a PhD in mechanical engineering. Do a Google search for "Dr. Dave billiards" if you want more info. Most people call me "Dr. Dave," but you can call me whatever you want ... even "a douche." :(
@DrDaveBilliards Oh...My bad Den....I Myself auctually wana be a Automobile Engineer,,,,,n i whoop ass in billiards.....jus stuck at tis masse shot :P
...you try doing that when there's $100 on the line going on the hill with a shot like that, playing a semi-pro, trapped with no kick, a very hard jump shot which even a noob can't even attept! You wouldn't even have the nerve to even think of something like this shot. Moreso, if you ever are in a situation in the beggining and you choke up like a sucker, you'll come in your mind and think, "Gee, I should've listened to Dr. Dave when I had the chance!" Don't be such a troll, pal!
lol r u serious? this masse shot is simple..... and err were in this video does it say there is $100 on the line and ur playing a semi pro, this is not a "large curve" watch an eric yow video and u will c wat a large curve is lol
Ok... well think about it for a second. What Eric does is already set up. He's done every shot on his vids like lots of times. What I described is like, "when it comes to you". Do you understand? I have tons of respect for "The Preacher"... he's a great artistic pool player. He is 2nd best as Massé Master of the APTSA record. But if you ever get a chance to look at Jamison Neu's vids, WOW! That's all I have to say.
What Dr. Dave is demonstrating is on an acutal game. Eric Yow is an "artistic" pool player. He's done those same shots hundreds of times, repititiously! It's not that I am putting down on "the Preacher", because I have tons of respect for him, but what I said on my previous comment was in a situational matter.
hey what Xx12yiNxX said iv done a whole lota Masse tricks on my table and there is no god damn green left... also if u hit the ball on the bottom left it will make it spin backwards with an angle. You should just hit the side of the cue ball and it spin even more so that it will hit the whole thing of the ball.. makin an easyer set up...
It is good to use a spare piece of table cloth in practice, as I did in the video. That way, the marks appear on the piece and not on the table cloth. You can get a piece of scrap cloth from a local table seller or repair shop.
This guy is such a Douche.....calling himself Doctor...sheesh!

If you want to be a good engineer in the future, try to do as well in school (especially math and science) as you do in pool.
School is cool (... and so is pool).
Good luck with things,

you barely made that 1 ball!!

Agreed, but that was my only goal. With practice and multiple attempts, better accuracy could be demonstrated.

actually you can perform this shot without blemishing the felt, you simply must practice your control over the shot

large curve?!
huh...
just a small one
kzdeisler 4 years ago
it is "large" compared to the "small" curve in NV 7.12. Agreed ... it is "tiny" compared to artistic (trick shot) pool masse shots.
