callimacos-> Awfully stupid boy, it's so "well-known" there are only "british arts" (xD xD xD) in the national gallery. Enquire a little before talking, trash, there are many more french artists than british in history, and there are many french arts in italian, american, british etc... museums.

The Louvre sucks!

I enjoyed much more the National Gallery,the RijksMuseum or the Musei Vaticani....but not that kind of Manage that has no respect for the art(proably because is italian,or dutch etc and not french)

Maybe you are angry because a lot of masterpieces in the Louvre are italian, and have been stolen by the French to the Italian in many wars...

It's strange go to the biggest museum of France and see Italian,Dutch,Greek annd Egyptian art-works....most part of them stolen by Napoleon!

moreover many important artworks like the paintings of Joos van Wassenhove(giusto di gand),that should be in Urbino and not in Paris are in a small place,unknown by the mosyt part oh the public!

Renovation is great but do not visit only for old stone and old gouache. Your experience would be a waste. Take pleasure with all the modern exhibits that are everywhere to be found.

I was there and to tell you the truth I was not to impressed with Paris,most of the people really are anti american. However the Louvre was amazing!!!

I went to Paris and many other cities in France and they were all rude and I could not wait to get out of there. Their hygiene was terrible, the cities and towns were trashed (I witnessed on several occasions the French throwing garbage out of their windows( and the people were extremely rude and arrogant. What does Fox news have to do with anything? Skip France and visit Germany.

I had nothing against the French until I went for a visit. Everything I have said is absolutely true. I have no reason to lie. What I saw was a filthy country filled with people who stunk like BO and acted like a bunch of stuck up idiots. I only meet one Frenchman who was courteous. Also, you are a perfect example of the people I meet. You disagree with me so you imediatly insult me and act like a total asshole. This is why I shall never set foot in France again.
