I'm so glad other people remember these shows. Whenever I ask people if they remember "The Write Channel," "The Art Maker," "The Letter People," "All About You," etc I just get blank stares.
@hillbillyprofane well you won't get a blank stare from me! I grew up on those shows too! My kids look at me crazy when I tell them that there were educational shows that didn't have a toy for you to buy!
Yep, that RB Bug show was the "Write Channel" It was on at 10:43 on Thursday morning here on Omaha's KYNE-26 during 1980/81. I remember staying home from school one day to just to watch it!!!
Ok, I have Thinkabout saved as a fave--One of my faves as a kid. I wonder if anyone has or plans to upload intros to the following instructional TV shows (unless they're already on the tube and I missed it): Readit w/John Robbins, Storybound, Books Cover to Cover, All About You, Eureka, It Figures, Getting to Know Me.
I used to watch this stuff every morning when I was little? Are there any good websites out there about instructional programming? Does anyone remember the one that took place in a black room & there was a talking phonograph?
NIT was the original name for AIT. "Inside/Out" was an early-70's show, so it was NIT. "ThinkAbout" came along in the late 70's, and it was AIT by then.
NIT re-organized as AIT in 1973 ("Inside/OUT" was the last show with the NIT logo..though the AIT logo appeared at the end credits). All shows from 1973 (including "All About You")onward were AIT productions.
Oh snap! That is old skool. Does anyone have any MET or any ThinkAbouts? Can you please send em to me? I love the weird paychadelic intro at the beginning of ThinkAbout. Anyone remember or have any episodes of Hodge Podge Lodge? I'm from MA. We watched this on WGBH, Boston. Thanks guys.
hi nantoshichoken, I have some Thinkabouts and they don't have the NIT logo, Inside/Out does. The Metric System - get outta here! LOL I will probably have the woman's voice (singing the title) embedded in my brain until I die. I would think TMS and Letter People were too late for the NIT logo, Freestyle I don't recall, and B&B I'm not sure I ever saw...our local PBS stations didn't show it, I just got teased by seeing it in the listings all the time.
It looks like NET the National Education Television from the PBS logo the

A complete version of the Thinkabout intro was posted (love2register2) about a year ago, and the ending was posted under it as a video response.

I don't remember the ]IT logo, but if it had some creepy music and was running in reverse....now that would be creepy!

Anyone remember "It Figures", a math show? Or how about that one w/ the claymation cricket who worked for WRITE-TV as an anchor/reporter?

I vaguely remember the show Freestyle. I remember the title, but no details of the show. Do you have Inside/Out vids? :)
