oh man. I used a bucket system before and had the fastest biggest plants I have ever had. Buckets are the way to go for sure.

I had a little 3.25 gallon bucket and I had a plant 4 feet tall and 5 feet round

its not an efficient set up. roots dont like light and will get root rot or pond scum and any light mixed with nutes/water will form algae. I'd say use black tubing and wrap everything in reflective tape.

oh and dont just use the big rockwoll block in your net pots. it lets light through to those precious roots. start your seed/clone in a 1.5" rockwoll cube and when it takes root transplant the rockwoll cube into some clean Hydroton. (expanded clay pellets)

yeah the airstone is producing the air bubbles underneath, but i was wondering about the gurgler.. do you run it on top 24 hrs. or only 3 times a day ?

this looks intresting, i dont think this would work as a stand alone methon(without airstone) i think it would be great as a methon for a drip system tho.

My first fish tank had got this setup as a method of filtering water it was moving the water from the tank up and over a filter pad, with the airflow from an airpump.
