  • intonation is not good... sad

  • @wupeide You'll have to explain that, as the notes at frets 5 and 12 were pretty much within 5% of true, using an electronic tuner, without any compensation!! When it comes to be picked up, I will fine tune with compensation if necessary....

  • @davehynds17120 Well I have to say it looks like a lovely instrument and sounds nice - but just after you say "the intonation is good" the octave you played doesn't sound perfect to me. (so that would be on the E string, right?) Anyhow, it may just be some overtone issues with youtube or my speakers or something, but it sounds just every so slightly off to me. (The G also sounds a bit funky, now that I listen again.) Is within 5% of true an acceptable margin of error?

  • @wupeide Perfect intonation is like the holy grail...... but check out 'rosewood zook intonation', I made a short clip with a tuner, and its really pretty good.

  • Tep, completely different tuning and scale length from a Greek bouzouki.....

  • Interesting. It has a warmer timbre than your typical Greek bouzouki. Is this an Irish one?

  • No problem D'Addario..... :)

  • Beautiful instrument! Thanks for the mention
