  • 4 cylender flathead 134 ci with a 3 speed transmission and high low transfer case. The same basic transmission and transfer case were used from the begining into the 70s. the flathead 4 was phased out in the early50s for an overhead valve design based on the flathead which was also used into the 70s

  • What did they have for engines? Six cylinders? 4 speed gearbox? I know very little about them.

  • you gotta love that sound

  • i want a jeep!!!!! 0||||||0

  • damn that's some nice property

  • it's a tractor !!!!! my god !!!! woooooow |||

  • lock those axles ...................

  • how much did ya get all of it for?

  • nice jeep, wanna build one like that when i get older. about how much did it cost you to do all that to it? if you dont mind me asking

  • how much and how hard is it to do a spring over lift

  • How much of a lift does it have?

  • @ProfessorGravy Its got a spring over lift so its about 6" maby a touch more

  • @jeep2003 hey how do you do a spring over lift and how much does it cost

  • I have a 54 cj3b...i wish I had a place like yours to drive it around

  • every man needs a willys jeep. your engine sounds good.

  • Those other guys are nuts. This jeep looks perfect. What engine do you have in it?

  • WHY?? you have to original with a jeep like that, if wanna do aftermarket stuff get a cj5 or something, And Btw the top safe speed is like 45 mph after that it gets bad for the jeep

  • Yeah,

And those tires are too wide.

  • @RangerMJMarsh23 the point of having a Jeep is doing what you want to with it. What does it matter to you what he does with his own property, as long as he's enjoying himself?

  • nice willys. only 4 things wrong with it.

  • Hey, what steering did you put on there, and what brakes? I have a '51 3A and the 9" originals are atrocious. I have the original steering and it's ok, but would consider something easy to install. Any chance you can pass along some tips if you've done the brakes?

    Thanks!

  • Nice Jeep.

  • Nice jeep! need some lockers tho. our jeep is similar but it has a longer custom frame built by proto-fab, FJ axles w/ lockers and a chevy 350. those are tall tires, we only run 33's what size are those?

  • what size tires are on that?

  • wow, nice cj.

  • awesome jeep, got a 48 2a completely rebuilt seeing the trail for the first time this saturady...ill post some vids.

  • awesome jeep

  • great looking old school jeep

  • your not getting any traction in the snow with those wide tires...try a skinnier pair man

  • true true :)

  • Did that have the Flathead 4 or the Lhead 4?

  • The 2a had the flat head which Willys called the L-head. The over head valve(intake only) was called the F-head. Confusing ain't it.

  • I always thought the half/half was called Lhead. So I asked if it has the same engine haha.

  • nice old jeep man, reminds me of going down the highway at 55mph in my XJ in 6 or 7 inches of snow, passing everyone stuck in the ditch, in full time 4 wheel...is it just me or do most jeeps perform best in the snow? O|||||||O

  • how fast can it go?

  • who cares its a jeep

  • hey! :) i the redline is near 3000 so i think below 50 is probably the safest top engine speed. the engine in mine was blown up in 1973 or 4 by a guy doing 60 with it up the road. :) though that might not always break them.

  • I'm jealous..

  • Me too...... wish i keep my cj-5......huhuuhh

  • its a work of art, just beutiful. our military jeeps werent made to back up, just forward,, towards the enemy. as you see.

  • also did you have to change the steering when you lifted it? what kinda work did you do to lift it? and did the stock driveline work?

  • Its mostly stock axles brakes and springs are stock but i did a springover. I havnt done lockers yet but id like to. Thats kind of catch 22 though because ill probrobly break them then and i was going to swap them out if i break them but they havnt broke yet.

  • Is that the factory 4 cyl motor and trans/transfer? I've always loved the cj2s and 3a's, you've got a very nice looking one.

  • what kinda mods were done? did you change the axles, brakes? lockers? how big are those tires? and did you put power steering in that beast?

  • As for the steering i had it stock but with a lowered bellcrank and that worked ok but i had all the parts to do a saganaw swap and crossover steering so thats what i have now no power steering but its not bad. 35x12.5-15 tires. I had to mix and match driveshafts from other models but i have no idea what i ended up with but it works.

  • pretty low gears there mate

  • i like what you have done with your ol' willys.

  • last time i checked the Flat head, that was in a cj-2a had 60hp... but that's just technical!

  • 75-hp thats all you need and right gearing-great-

    video--

  • man i love the sound of that jeep!

  • is ur a rare or copy

  • You can have a lot of fun with just 75hp.

  • 60 :)

    Which beats out my 86 diesel jetta's 52. :)

  • how are finding the parts for those?? im probably getting one but im worried about availability of parts...nice rig though

  • dont worry. you can get almost every part on these old jeeps new. Theres one main suplier omix-ada that suplies all of the retail distributors. parts are no problem. Good luck :)

  • yes stock includes 4x4 btw nice video

  • does stock include 4x4?

  • o you got to love the sound of one of those

  • how much do one of those cost?

  • $400 to 20,000 depending on condition. you can get a good stock running one for $1000
