In my eyes, Oscar got robbed twice with Trinidad and Mosley, two of the best fighters of our time. Therefore I believe Oscar should have a place among boxing greats.
@Transformers217 well the great george foreman who knows more about boxing than u and was commentating for this fight agreed with me that oscar was robbed and was the clear winner. then we find out through mosleys confession that he took performance enhancing drug made by BALCO COMPANY. mosley claims he didnt know that he was taking this drugs cuz hes trainer never told him what he was giving him. if mosley had not taking these drugs , oscar would have knocked mosley out
@hunab3425 I disagree with George, and so did the judges. George knows boxing, but he's not really an expert. He's said some silly things in the past, and doesn't always know what he's talking about. George is a biased Delahoya fan, so his judgement is not objective. If Mosley didn't take any drugs, Oscar would of LOST! Mosley was the better, and the greater fighter. Delahoya was very good, but he was overrated. Just like Mike Tyson. At least in my opinion.
@Transformers217 then we agree to disagree. but george foreman is not on delahoya payroll never was and never will so u are being presumtuos as far as your opinion of boxing expert george foreman and I REPEAT, SHANE MOSLEY TOOK BALCO DRUGS SO THAT HE COULD COMPETE AGAINST OSCAR DELAHOYA. THAT MAKES MOSLEY A CHEATER WORSER THEN MARGACHEATO. MOSLEY HAD TO ADMIT HE TOOK BALCO STEROIDS DURING HIS HEARINGS IN COURT AND HIS CONFESSION IS PUBLIC RECORD . LOOK IT UP
@hunab3425 CHECK OUT THE YOUTUBE VIDEO CALLED "MOSLEY ADMITS TO TAKING EPO DURING LAWSUIT AGAINST BALCO VICTOR CONTE" MOSLEY IS FUCKIN CHEATER AND NOW IS KNOWN AS THE COWARD WHO RAN FOR 12 ROUNDS AGAINST PACMAN.
@hunab3425 Mosley is also known as one of the greatest fighters who ever lived. He was a warrior in the ring. And he's the best lightweight, since Roberto Duran.
@Transformers217 DONT COMPARE MOSLEY THE STEROID TAKING CHEATING LOW LIFE TO DURAN WHO IS STILL CONSIDERED THE GREATEST LIGHTWEIGHT OF ALL TIME . DURAN DIDNT HAVE TO USE STEROIDS LIKE MOSLEY DID TO COMPETE AGAINST OSCAR DELAHOYA
@hunab3425 And Mosley didn't need steroids to beat Delahoya, because Delahoya wasn't that great. And Duran use to cheat as well. He didn't use steroids, but he use to hit fighters below the belt, thumb them in the eye, and probably a couple other things. Duran is one of the greatest, but he was a dirty fighter. So are many other great fighters. In the end, cheating is cheating. But Mosley didn't need steroids to be a great fighter. He proved that all by himself.
@hunab3425 Mosley is just as great as Duran, and I don't think he needed steroids to beat Delahoya at any time. Even Delahoya doesn't care. He believes Mosley's story. He's given Mosley the benefit of the doubt. So why can't you?
@Transformers217 if this is the first time u hear someone telling u that mosley is a drug taking cheaters do an internet search for shane mosley and BALCO STEROIDS. mosley had to take steroids to compete against a natural great athlete like OSCAR DELAHOYA. and before u bring up pacman beating oscar, remember that oscar was way past his fighting peak. i predicted oscar would lose this fight. roach even told pacman that oscar didnt have it anymore as a fighter
@hunab3425 I already know about it. And it doesn't matter, because Mosley was the better fighter. He didn't need steroids to beat Oscar. Oscar was a beatable fighter, he lost to some of the best fighters in his era. He got two "gifted decisions" against Whitaker and Ike Quartey. He didn't really beat him. He gave away a fight against Trinidad, because he probably didn't want to get knocked out. He got schooled by Mosley, knocked out by Hopkins, lost to Mayweather, and got destroyed by Pac Man.
@Transformers217 look how illogical your last statements are. if shane mosley didnt need balco steroids to compete with oscar THEN WHY DID MOSLEY TAKE AND EVEN CONFESSED THAT HE TOOK THE DRUGS FOR THE OSCAR VS SHANE MOSLEY FIGHT. U KNOW WHY MOSLEY TOOK THE BALCO STEROIDS. CUZ MOSLEY KNEW THAT WITHOUTH CHEATING BY USING BALCO STEROIDS OSCAR WOULD AND COULD HAVE KNOCKED MOSLEY OUT.
@hunab3425 Yeah, Mosley took steroids. But he didn't really need them to beat Oscar. That's how great he was. Delahoya was overrated. He didn't have the power to knock out Mosley. Mosley was the better fighter, and he'll always be the better fighter IMO.
@Transformers217 Mosley was shuffling and hugging most that fight. If Mosley didn't need steroids to win Delahoya then why did he take them? Since Oscar didn't have the power to knockout Mosley why didn't Mosley dominate this fight? Mosley didn't deliver powerful punches either. Mosley shouldn't have even won this fight taking drugs!
@waldo1976able In my opinion, Mosley didn't need steroids to beat Delahoya. Yes, he took them, but his skill level was so above Delahoya, that he didn't really need them. Mosley did deliver the more powerful punches, which is why he got the decision. The judges were paying attention to Mosley's aggression. Mosley landed the more accurate, harder punchers, and he looked like he wanted to knock out Delahoya in the last 5 rounds of the fight. I gave Mosley 7 rounds.
@Transformers217 true Mosley probably didn't know he was given performance drugs. He did keep running at Oscar, without ever getting tired that's what happens when ur on steroids. Oscar either blocked or dodged Mosleys Punches. Mosley was too fast to tell if he even connected on more attempted punches, steroids can help with that also. His boxing skill supremacy was just the speed, by using and getting away using Performance enhancing drugs. But like u said we'll never know.
@eljrclave8 Mosley said he didn't know. And I think Delahoya believed his story. So I guess Mosley is innocent, until it's proven that he intentionally used steroids against Delahoya in their rematch. Until that's proven, I don't really know. And the reason that Mosley continued to have a good career after this fight, is because Delahoya is one of his best friends. The reason that Margarito has continued to get big fights, is because he's a cash cow for Bob Arum. It's wrong, but it happens.
@Transformers217 Guess what? he was proven to be a cheater, BALCO told the true about him, he try to sue them but he couldn't do anything, he try to blame hes conditioning coach(Darell Hudson) and he lost too. De la Hoya? u honestly believe what he says? He's just a business guy, C'mon man. De la Hoya was, pacquiao is, and Margarito was needed for pacman so hey that's nothing but business, but Margarito being black American would of help him more with media and people.
@eljrclave8 But Mosley said he didn't know. So it wasn't proven that he intentionally cheated. Meanwhile, Margarito tried to intentionally cheat against Mosley. And Mosley doesn't get help with the media and the people because he's black. He gets that type of backing, because he's a nice guy, and has friends like Delahoya who believed his story. And Margarito still had a career, after he tried to cheat. So what are you talking about?
@Transformers217 Mosley admitted to using EPO 2 months before this fight. Its on youtube. When it came out like 5-6 years later that Mosley was cheating, Delahoya said he didnt care to have the result changed because it was so long ago and doesn't mean anything now. Also him and Shane Mosley are really good friends aswell.
@Transformers217 You can't say that, maybe the EPO helped Mosley with his stamina towards the end of the fight, maybe it didn't but you can't judge the fight as if he's fighting cleanly. Personally, i thought Oscar won this fight. Mosley was ordinary even on the juice. lol
@Transformers217 Yet you say he finished the stronger of the two and won the last two rounds, you can't do that without stamina.even with "heart". At the end of the day Mosley fought this fight with an unfair advantage, I think it says alot about Mosley's psyche aswell. He felt he needed an edge to beat Oscar and that edge was EPO.
@ElSpewtardo But he didn't know he was taking EPO. And he won the last two rounds, based on heart, not stamina. You can have no stamina, and still win a fight based on heart. And that's exactly how Mosley beat Delahoya. With his heart.
@waldo1976able Mosley didn't get tired during the first fight against Oscar? Was he on roids back then? I don't think so. And Mosley looked pretty tired in this fight as well. I guess the roids wasn't helping that much. Lol!
Either way, Mosley was the better fighter in both fights. Delahoya was flashy, but he didn't have the stamina to stand up to Mosley's aggression.
@Transformers217 Mosley didn't control that fight! and Mosley was hugging Oscar and running most of the time.Oscar should not have lost that fight.Mosley himself couldn't believe he won. Bad judgment to give Mosley that fight. Maybe the ref was bribed
@waldo1976able I disagree. Mosley controlled the second half of the fight. He landed the harder shots, and he kept coming forward. He was the aggressor, and he took the fight to Delahoya. Delahoya tried to steal rounds with his pity pat punches, but they weren't enough to win the fight. Mosley was the better fighter, because he controlled most of the fight.
@waldo1976able I disagree Mosley didn't control the fight, he tried to be the aggressor but Oscar blocked all his shots. all I noticed from Mosley is he's a good runner.
I didn't see Mosley control any part of that fight. I wonder if he ever serve any suspension or penalty for using steroids even though he admitted it. What's next Oscar really did lose to mayweather which is another wrong decision! About the Whitaker fight, Whitaker is a dirty fighter and sweet P still got schooled. I suppose we just agree to disagree.
@waldo1976able Mosley didn't serve any suspension, or anything after this fight. And I thought Mosley controlled most of this fight. Delahoya also lost to Mayweather, because Mayweather was the greater fighter. Mayweather landed the most punches, and he landed the more accurate punches. He also made Delahoya look like a fool during most of that fight. Whitaker was a clean fighter, and he gave Delahoya a boxing lesson. Delahoya got a gifted decision. He never beat Whitaker.
@Transformers217 If Mosley took EPO or whatever why shouldn't he be penalized or suspended like any other boxer would! Mosley didn't control this fight. The only time Mayweather landed any punches it was to get away from Oscars combinations. Whitaker clean right he's a ghetto fighter and belongs in the UFC. De la hoya didn't get any decisions in his favor out boxed Whitaker! Most of Oscars losses were robberies!
@waldo1976able Delahoya landed more punches, but Mosley landed the harder punches, and he looked like he wanted to win the fight. Delahoya kept backing off and trying to win rounds, by throwing pity pat punches. But Mosley's aggression is what controlled the fight.
@Transformers217 Oscar blocked all of Mosleys punches and it was a close fight, Mosley "aggression"never came close to knocking Oscar down and landed more punches. The only thing Mosley had going for him was his speed!
@waldo1976able Mosley landed the harder, power punches. He was the aggressor during the entire fight, and he tried to bring the fight to Delahoya. Delahoya kept backing up, and didn't really want to fight. And that's why Mosley won. The problem with Delahoya, is that he was too flawed to be an all time great. He didn't even know how to bob and weave. He didn't know how to move his head. That's why it was so easy for fighters like Mosley and Mayweather to hit him.
@waldo1976able Delahoya also got a gifted decision, against Ike Quartey. He got two "gifted" decisions against Whitaker and Quartey. Delahoya has lost to some of the best fighters in his era. He lost to Trinidad, Mosley, Hopkins, Mayweather, and Pacquiao. He's an all time great at the box office. But as a fighter, he's clearly overrated. He fought the best, but he couldn't beat the best.
@Transformers217 Lol ok, . He was robbed against Trinidad and Quartey fight was nowhere near a gift, It could have gone either way but probably should have been a draw. Oscar's last round saved him. He deserved the fight in Mosley- DLH 2 and I think Mosley got a gift there, hardly a convincing win. And the Oscar that fought Manny and Floyd was about 7 years after he peaked as a fighter. Now I know to ignore you because you talk alot of bs.
@ElSpewtardo Delahoya lost to Trinidad, because he didn't want to fight in the last three rounds. He ran away. He got a gifted decision against Whitaker, and Quartey. You can see that he lost to Whitaker, he didn't even land a clean punch on Whitaker, and he got knocked down by Whitaker. Quartey was beating Delahoya to the punch, until the 12th round. Oscar lost to Mosley twice, he got schooled by Mayweather, and he got destroyed by Pacquiao. Delahoya was an overrated fighter.
@Transformers217 Overrated fighter that went the distance with all these big names he fought and got pipped by dubious decisions. He was a washed up old man when he fought both Pac and Mayweather. Mayweather never even looked like knocking him out and still only got the fight cos Oscar ran out of gas the last 3 rounds.
@ElSpewtardo Mayweather out-boxed, and out-schooled Delahoya. Mayweather was simply the better, and more intelligent fighter. He almost knocked Delahoya down in round 5, and he rocked Delahoya in rounds 10 and 12. Mayweather also landed more punches, and proved that he's one of the greatest defensive fighters of all time. Delahoya was an overrated fighter, who couldn't really beat the best of his era. That's why he is overrated.
@Transformers217 Actually I have to Jump in here.LOL Oscar was already declining when he fought Floyd. He had lost 2 of 4 before Floyd fight. So this was in no way Vintage Oscar! Just like When Floyd Fought Shane!haha In 2007 Floyd Fought a Fading Oscar & a Small Hatten. When he should have fought a younger Shane & an undefeated Cotto.
@stiehlreddog Oscar was past his prime, but he fought Floyd at his natural weight of 154 pounds. Floyd should of fought either Mosley or Cotto in 2008, but Mosley was past his prime as well. It wouldn't of made a difference.
@Transformers217 Well Maybe, maybe not.But we wont ever know.since he waited till he was Old.He Also could have fought the undefeated Cotto at the time! Floyd is a great defensive fighter. But believe me all of his fights are very carefully thought out.
@stiehlreddog That's the only complaint that I have about Floyd, is that he's been cherry picking during most of his career. Delahoya didn't start cherry picking, until he was at the end of his career.
@Transformers217 I think he is a very good boxer & his big fans constantly argue with me because I say the same thing. At the end of his career He may be undefeated....But so was Joe Calzahge & no one ever mentions him as the best ever! Now I read Manny agreed to fight Floyd but now Floyd won`t take a 50/50 split of the Money! To me that is just more proof!
@stiehlreddog As a fighter, Mayweather is one of the greatest of all time. But his legacy is overrated. Delahoya wasn't that great, but he fought everybody in his era.
@Transformers217 Stop...I`m laughing my ass off! At least delahoya fought everyone In their primes! Floyd needs to prove it by beating Pac.Time is running out.Cause everyone knows Arum aint waiting for long!He needs this fight on his record.
@stiehlreddog But even though Delahoya fought the best of his era, he came up short. Mayweather not only dominates his opponents in his biggest fights, he completely separates himself from them.
@Transformers217 Like I said AT least Oscar had the balls to fight all them in their prime. Why do uyou think he was the biggest draw??He fought shane when shane was at his peak not 38!!
@stiehlreddog Floyd tried to fight Shane in 99, but Shane wanted to fight Delahoya. Floyd was calling out Delahoya and Mosley for years, before they finally fought him.
@Transformers217 hahaha That is a Lie! In 99 Shane was`nt even in his weight Class! Floyd was a featherweight. Also Shane fought Oscar In 2000 1st because back then Oscar Was the Big dog!! He was the biggest draw. Not Floyd. Why did`nt Floyd fight Shane after he moved up? Like in 04,05 maybe hell even 08!!
@stiehlreddog Floyd called out Shane in 99, and 2002. And when Shane was asked to fight Floyd in 2006, he said no, because he had a tooth ache. Shane only started calling out Floyd, when Floyd became a bigger star. But Floyd started calling out Shane in 99.
@stiehlreddog But Shane was ducking Floyd first. Floyd only started avoiding Shane, when he became a big name fighter. But Shane wanted to fight Floyd, to make a lot of money. That's why he kept calling out Floyd. But in the past, Floyd always called out Delahoya and Mosley. Floyd stopped doing that, when he stopped being hungry. Now he's focusing more on money, and not on legacy.
@Transformers217 I Will agree with the last part of what you said.It is to bad cause In my opinion. He needs to beat a couple of great fighters in their primes to be looked at as 1 of the all time greats. His competition for a boxers with his talents will always be suspect. He needs that Mega Fight.Just like all the others before him!
@stiehlreddog But it's a fact. Floyd started calling out Shane back in 99, and Mosley avoided him. Delahoya also avoided Mayweather, until he decided to fight him. Mosley just started calling out Floyd, in order to make a lot of money. And Floyd needs to beat some great fighters, in order to even make the top 10 all time great lists. If not, then he'll just be in the top 20, or top 15.
@Transformers217 Not even Close unless he makes like 2 Mega fights and wins them Both! His demands for the fight Manny agreed to are absurd Adding the ticket sales and the sponsors will push the earnings to the $500 million mark, the website estimates.Reports say the fight is being held up by disagreement on how to share the proceeds. NBC Sports report that Mayweather’s camp has offered Pacquaio a guaranteed $40 million cash which means Floyd will keep the Pay-Per-View purse?
@Transformers217 He is a Fake!! If he wanted manny as bad as he says he would take the 50/50 which would be more money then he made in his last to fights together!! LOL Hey Chicken!
@Transformers217 He is Fighting Cotto Now.LOL I knew It was`nt Happening. Funny though I remember Floyd saying You fight May Leftovers. Now Cotto will be the 2nd Guy Manny Fought 1st. LOL
@stiehlreddog Yeah, Mayweather should of fought Cotto back in the summer of 2008. But at least the fight is finally happening. I've been wanting to see Mayweather fight Cotto, since 2005.
@Transformers217 It is Good they made the fight.I guess.BUt to be honest I already know the outcome & wont pay for this.Floyd needs a Real Test like Manny or Sergio. In my opinion these are the Megafights I want to see.
@Transformers217 ALso Floyd just prooved what a fake he is.He said he has been going out of his way to fight Manny. But Manny agrees to all his stupid tests & probably told Arum he wants to fight Floyd. Then they finally Agree & Floyd says he wont take a 50/50 split!!!! To me that is a blatent DUCK!!
@Transformers217 And if you really think he lost to Trinidad, watch the legendary fights doco on YT. One of the judges scored 3 of the first 4 rounds to Trinidad when Oscar was dominating. Jerry Roth his name, he also has a history of very imcompetent and dubious scorecards. Another judge scored the last round to Oscar when he didn't even throw a punch just to make the scorecard look more even.
@ElSpewtardo Stop trying to blame the judges, and face reality. It was DELAHOYA's fault, for losing that fight. He didn't come to fight, so he lost on the judges scorecards. If Delahoya had tried to knock out Trinidad, he would of won the fight. But he chose to run like a chicken, and he lost! Plain and simple. Yes, there was bad scoring, but it was Delahoya's fault. Even Delahoya admitted that.
@Transformers217 Oscar didn't get any gifted decisions, Oscar outfought Mosley and got robbed this fight. Against Quartey Oscar sent Ike down on the canvas twice! . Whitaker was headbutting Oscar hitting from behind the back yeah Sweet P is dirty . Hopkins is much bigger and way out of his weight class. Have Hopkins lose 10-15 lbs and see if he fights the same! The Mayweather fight was judges decision Oscar shouldn't have lost. As for Pac man ask chicken floyd to stop hiding
@waldo1976able Besides, Delahoya believes Mosley's story. Mosley didn't know that he was taking anything illegal. And Delahoya believes. So if Delahoya doesn't have a problem with what Mosley did, then I don't have a problem. If he cheated, then he cheated. But until that's proven, we don't really know. Because according to Mosley, he didn't know what he was taking.
@Kaito66666 mosley already admitted he took performance drug for this fight and even george foreman who commentated this fight said that oscar was robbed by the judges just like marquez was robbed recently. american judges alway rob mexican fighters of thier deserving victories
oscar de la hoya has alot of fights that has been robbed , i wish they would put intellegent judges so they could make a good desicion on who won the boxing fights
Mosley won the 1st fight n this fight could have gone either way I thought oscar got lazy n slowed down on the 6th n up n got rocked with hard mosley shots but oscar fought better dan the 1st but mosley was on steroids
the first fight mosley won but this 1 I dont know what the hell the judges where thinking it shouldve been oscar by UD I only gave mosley 2 rounds out of 12 he was eating oscar jab all nite and when they would exchange oscar got the better out of him way different fight from the first one though in the first 1 oscar was the aggressor and in this 1 it was mosley robbery anyways oscar won this 1
@pearcemark2 Its true its not as exciting when someone isn't knocked out. But you also have to hand it to both of them..... they boxed the entire 12 rounds. A normal man would be exhausted after 1-3 rounds throwing that many punches. Oscar did appear to land more blows to the head.
How come De La O is not angry at Mosley for using Steroids when they fought? That is very weird and De La O is too nice because I would have backhanded Shane.
@RobertLei He never tested positive for Roids,he was caught when the FBI was investigating a company named BALCO which was secretly manufacturing Steroid for baseball players like Barry Bonds.BALCO had a check from Mosley that was a payment for a designer Steroid and he was subpoenaed by a Court prosecutor to testify in court and that is when he was forced to admit that he had used Steroids while preparing to fight De La O.
De La Hoya was robbed big time in this fight. After Oscar won the 11th round it was mathmetically impossible for Mosley to win. Having said that the thing that pissed me off more than De La Hoya getting robbed was that De La Hoya was all smiles even after getting robbed. Fuck that he deserved what he got.
Round 1: Oscar Round 2: Oscar Round 3: Shane Round 4: Oscar Round 5: Oscar Round 6: Shane Round 7: Oscar Round 8: Oscar Round 9: Shane Round 10: Oscar Round 11: Shane Round 12: Oscar Final Total: 116-112 Oscar De La Hoya
Never was really impressed with De La Hoya even at his prime as this fight showed.
Mosley on the other hand, has not been knocked down/out in his career, because he has not faced a superb fighter in Pac that can really land some good solid punches accurately. Shane Mosley is not as fast as Pac as he claims to be.. The later rounds will succumb his stamina and will be taken out by Pac if he refrains from being merciful in the ring.
@tunemeister99 Never really impressed with De La Hoya? The fact he won a gold medal in the Olympics and thereafter defeated 17 current and/or former world champions during his professional career wasn't that impressive, eh? Or the fact he was Ring Mag's Fighter of the Year in '95 and top-rated P4P fighter in '97 and '98 doesn't impress much?
Fuckin'-A...Pacquiao fans are so damn stupid. Really, really stupid...
Mosley is COMPLETELY washed up. He looked pretty bad against Mayweather, and he looked outright AWFUL against Mora, Manny's management wouldn't let the fight happen until they were sure that Shane was done. Roach wanted no part of Mosley a year or two ago.
This fight should not be happening. Period. Manny better knock him out very quickly. I expect nothing less.
its funny how only in boxing people see only what they want to see ,if they like their fighter they beleive he wins even if he lost ,then they blame it on judges who have better insight of whats going on in the ring
Just reminding everyone that Mosley already admitted that he was on balco steroids for this fight. Oscar would have knocked out Mosley if mosley had not juiced up. Remember how angry Foreman (a black boxer) was when he heard that oscar was robbed of a victory by the judges. Reminds me of Marquez getting robbed in two fight with pacman.
Shane was shocked when he got this gift decision. Everyone says he a gentleman of the sport, but he should not have accepted this corrupt decision. Fans would have respected him more had he just came out and admitted that he lost this fight. Both him and his dad knew they got away with one here, and you could tell they felt kinda bad about it during the interview. Unfortunately, the bad decsion tarnished what would have been considered another classic fight.
@Fernando072295 Oscar DID win at least in the rematch but for some reason the judges decided to screw up the decision. I never completely saw their first bout so I can't comment on that one but some people told me Oscar might have won that one too...but this rematch oscar won clearly and mosley was on steroids and still couldn't truly beat Oscar.
Oscar was robbed twice in his career. In this fight and in the Felix Trinidad fight, but Oscar also won 2 fights he should have lost the decision. Pernell Whitaker & Felix Sturm.
@chifuli1974 Sorry but there is a reason oscar won this fight. Look it was a close fight and Quartey for sure hurt Oscar and could have won the fight but the 12th round was the decisive factor, it was a blowout round for de la hoya. De la hoya dominated Ike in the ropes, he neutralized Quartey's great jab in rds 1-5, and landed crispier and cleaner punches when they engaged in flurries. But what also helped give ODLH the decision was the 2 knockdowns and his 12 round destruction of Quartey.
The whole fight was boring. Every time oscar loses people say he got robbed, that tells that he lets most NOT ALL, but most of his fights get too close. He always gets controversy decisions.
@unclewin9 I scored it 116-112, I thought I had it one sided and it was. Oscar clearly outboxed Shane. His jab kept Shane off balance and he out hustled him with body shots. There's always something fishy when all the scores are the same. Shane's face when he heard the UD was priceless. He was surprised he had won...
De la hoya got robbed in a few of his fights thats kind of what his legacy is based on; losing his biggest fights. I think he was a great fighter and he deserves more credit he fought the best of the best and arguably beat most of them
Oscar De La Hoya this fight easy! And after watching this fight i can see Mayweather beating Mosley easy! Mosley as BIG trouble with fighters that move!
I agree, but if you heard Max Kellermans take, he stated he sat ringside and thought Mosley had won, but when he watched it on TV he didn't realize how well Oscar performed....he stated Mosley's punchers sounded vicious and loud, and it sounded like he hit DLH more....Also SSM was on EPO this fight, same shit Pac is probably doing..DLH did win though
In my eyes, Oscar got robbed twice with Trinidad and Mosley, two of the best fighters of our time. Therefore I believe Oscar should have a place among boxing greats.
arreoman2 2 months ago
I thought Mosley won the last two rounds, and that he finished a lot stronger than Delahoya. So I think Mosley won this fight.
Transformers217 2 months ago
@Transformers217 well the great george foreman who knows more about boxing than u and was commentating for this fight agreed with me that oscar was robbed and was the clear winner. then we find out through mosleys confession that he took performance enhancing drug made by BALCO COMPANY. mosley claims he didnt know that he was taking this drugs cuz hes trainer never told him what he was giving him. if mosley had not taking these drugs , oscar would have knocked mosley out
hunab3425 2 months ago

LOOK IT UP

@Transformers217 DONT COMPARE MOSLEY THE STEROID TAKING CHEATING LOW LIFE TO DURAN WHO IS STILL CONSIDERED THE GREATEST LIGHTWEIGHT OF ALL TIME . DURAN DIDNT HAVE TO USE STEROIDS LIKE MOSLEY DID TO COMPETE AGAINST OSCAR DELAHOYA
hunab3425 2 months ago
@hunab3425 And Mosley didn't need steroids to beat Delahoya, because Delahoya wasn't that great. And Duran use to cheat as well. He didn't use steroids, but he use to hit fighters below the belt, thumb them in the eye, and probably a couple other things. Duran is one of the greatest, but he was a dirty fighter. So are many other great fighters. In the end, cheating is cheating. But Mosley didn't need steroids to be a great fighter. He proved that all by himself.
Transformers217 2 months ago
@hunab3425 Mosley is just as great as Duran, and I don't think he needed steroids to beat Delahoya at any time. Even Delahoya doesn't care. He believes Mosley's story. He's given Mosley the benefit of the doubt. So why can't you?

@Transformers217 if this is the first time u hear someone telling u that mosley is a drug taking cheaters do an internet search for shane mosley and BALCO STEROIDS. mosley had to take steroids to compete against a natural great athlete like OSCAR DELAHOYA. and before u bring up pacman beating oscar, remember that oscar was way past his fighting peak. i predicted oscar would lose this fight. roach even told pacman that oscar didnt have it anymore as a fighter
hunab3425 2 months ago
@hunab3425 I already know about it. And it doesn't matter, because Mosley was the better fighter. He didn't need steroids to beat Oscar. Oscar was a beatable fighter, he lost to some of the best fighters in his era. He got two "gifted decisions" against Whitaker and Ike Quartey. He didn't really beat him. He gave away a fight against Trinidad, because he probably didn't want to get knocked out. He got schooled by Mosley, knocked out by Hopkins, lost to Mayweather, and got destroyed by Pac Man.
Transformers217 2 months ago
@Transformers217 look how illogical your last statements are. if shane mosley didnt need balco steroids to compete with oscar THEN WHY DID MOSLEY TAKE AND EVEN CONFESSED THAT HE TOOK THE DRUGS FOR THE OSCAR VS SHANE MOSLEY FIGHT. U KNOW WHY MOSLEY TOOK THE BALCO STEROIDS. CUZ MOSLEY KNEW THAT WITHOUTH CHEATING BY USING BALCO STEROIDS OSCAR WOULD AND COULD HAVE KNOCKED MOSLEY OUT.
hunab3425 2 months ago
@hunab3425 Yeah, Mosley took steroids. But he didn't really need them to beat Oscar. That's how great he was. Delahoya was overrated. He didn't have the power to knock out Mosley. Mosley was the better fighter, and he'll always be the better fighter IMO.
Transformers217 2 months ago
@Transformers217 Mosley was shuffling and hugging most that fight. If Mosley didn't need steroids to win Delahoya then why did he take them? Since Oscar didn't have the power to knockout Mosley why didn't Mosley dominate this fight? Mosley didn't deliver powerful punches either. Mosley shouldn't have even won this fight taking drugs!
waldo1976able 2 months ago
@waldo1976able In my opinion, Mosley didn't need steroids to beat Delahoya. Yes, he took them, but his skill level was so above Delahoya, that he didn't really need them. Mosley did deliver the more powerful punches, which is why he got the decision. The judges were paying attention to Mosley's aggression. Mosley landed the more accurate, harder punchers, and he looked like he wanted to knock out Delahoya in the last 5 rounds of the fight. I gave Mosley 7 rounds.
Transformers217 2 months ago
@Transformers217 true Mosley probably didn't know he was given performance drugs. He did keep running at Oscar, without ever getting tired that's what happens when ur on steroids. Oscar either blocked or dodged Mosleys Punches. Mosley was too fast to tell if he even connected on more attempted punches, steroids can help with that also. His boxing skill supremacy was just the speed, by using and getting away using Performance enhancing drugs. But like u said we'll never know.
waldo1976able 2 months ago
@waldo1976able "Mosley probably didn't know he was given performance drugs" wow! Antonio Margarito wish he was black too!
eljrclave8 2 months ago
@eljrclave8 Mosley said he didn't know. And I think Delahoya believed his story. So I guess Mosley is innocent, until it's proven that he intentionally used steroids against Delahoya in their rematch. Until that's proven, I don't really know. And the reason that Mosley continued to have a good career after this fight, is because Delahoya is one of his best friends. The reason that Margarito has continued to get big fights, is because he's a cash cow for Bob Arum. It's wrong, but it happens.
Transformers217 2 months ago
@Transformers217 Guess what? he was proven to be a cheater, BALCO told the true about him, he try to sue them but he couldn't do anything, he try to blame hes conditioning coach(Darell Hudson) and he lost too. De la Hoya? u honestly believe what he says? He's just a business guy, C'mon man. De la Hoya was, pacquiao is, and Margarito was needed for pacman so hey that's nothing but business, but Margarito being black American would of help him more with media and people.
eljrclave8 2 months ago
@eljrclave8 But Mosley said he didn't know. So it wasn't proven that he intentionally cheated. Meanwhile, Margarito tried to intentionally cheat against Mosley. And Mosley doesn't get help with the media and the people because he's black. He gets that type of backing, because he's a nice guy, and has friends like Delahoya who believed his story. And Margarito still had a career, after he tried to cheat. So what are you talking about?
Transformers217 2 months ago
@Transformers217 Mosley admitted to using EPO 2 months before this fight. Its on youtube. When it came out like 5-6 years later that Mosley was cheating, Delahoya said he didnt care to have the result changed because it was so long ago and doesn't mean anything now. Also him and Shane Mosley are really good friends aswell.
ElSpewtardo 1 month ago
@ElSpewtardo That's true. But even without steroids, I think Mosley still would of won. To me, he didn't need them. He was just the better fighter.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 You can't say that, maybe the EPO helped Mosley with his stamina towards the end of the fight, maybe it didn't but you can't judge the fight as if he's fighting cleanly. Personally, i thought Oscar won this fight. Mosley was ordinary even on the juice. lol
ElSpewtardo 1 month ago
@ElSpewtardo But Mosley's stamina wasn't that great in this fight. He won the fight, based on his heart. It was his heart, that beat Delahoya.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 Yet you say he finished the stronger of the two and won the last two rounds, you can't do that without stamina.even with "heart". At the end of the day Mosley fought this fight with an unfair advantage, I think it says alot about Mosley's psyche aswell. He felt he needed an edge to beat Oscar and that edge was EPO.
ElSpewtardo 1 month ago
@ElSpewtardo But he didn't know he was taking EPO. And he won the last two rounds, based on heart, not stamina. You can have no stamina, and still win a fight based on heart. And that's exactly how Mosley beat Delahoya. With his heart.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@ElSpewtardo Mosley didn't even need an unfair advantage to beat Delahoya. Yeah, he was on EPO, but he was just a more skilled fighter than Delahoya.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@waldo1976able Mosley didn't get tired during the first fight against Oscar? Was he on roids back then? I don't think so. And Mosley looked pretty tired in this fight as well. I guess the roids wasn't helping that much. Lol!
Either way, Mosley was the better fighter in both fights. Delahoya was flashy, but he didn't have the stamina to stand up to Mosley's aggression.
Transformers217 2 months ago
@Transformers217 Mosley didn't control that fight! and Mosley was hugging Oscar and running most of the time.Oscar should not have lost that fight.Mosley himself couldn't believe he won. Bad judgment to give Mosley that fight. Maybe the ref was bribed
waldo1976able 2 months ago
@waldo1976able I disagree. Mosley controlled the second half of the fight. He landed the harder shots, and he kept coming forward. He was the aggressor, and he took the fight to Delahoya. Delahoya tried to steal rounds with his pity pat punches, but they weren't enough to win the fight. Mosley was the better fighter, because he controlled most of the fight.
Transformers217 2 months ago
@waldo1976able I disagree Mosley didn't control the fight, he tried to be the aggressor but Oscar blocked all his shots. all I noticed from Mosley is he's a good runner.
waldo1976able 2 months ago
@waldo1976able I thought Mosley controlled the fight, after the 7th or 8th round. I gave Mosley 7 rounds.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217
I suppose we just agree to disagree.
waldo1976able 1 month ago
@waldo1976able Mosley didn't serve any suspension, or anything after this fight. And I thought Mosley controlled most of this fight. Delahoya also lost to Mayweather, because Mayweather was the greater fighter. Mayweather landed the most punches, and he landed the more accurate punches. He also made Delahoya look like a fool during most of that fight. Whitaker was a clean fighter, and he gave Delahoya a boxing lesson. Delahoya got a gifted decision. He never beat Whitaker.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 If Mosley took EPO or whatever why shouldn't he be penalized or suspended like any other boxer would! Mosley didn't control this fight. The only time Mayweather landed any punches it was to get away from Oscars combinations. Whitaker clean right he's a ghetto fighter and belongs in the UFC. De la hoya didn't get any decisions in his favor out boxed Whitaker! Most of Oscars losses were robberies!
waldo1976able 1 month ago
@waldo1976able Delahoya landed more punches, but Mosley landed the harder punches, and he looked like he wanted to win the fight. Delahoya kept backing off and trying to win rounds, by throwing pity pat punches. But Mosley's aggression is what controlled the fight.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 Oscar blocked all of Mosleys punches and it was a close fight, Mosley "aggression"never came close to knocking Oscar down and landed more punches. The only thing Mosley had going for him was his speed!
waldo1976able 1 month ago
@waldo1976able Mosley landed the harder, power punches. He was the aggressor during the entire fight, and he tried to bring the fight to Delahoya. Delahoya kept backing up, and didn't really want to fight. And that's why Mosley won. The problem with Delahoya, is that he was too flawed to be an all time great. He didn't even know how to bob and weave. He didn't know how to move his head. That's why it was so easy for fighters like Mosley and Mayweather to hit him.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@waldo1976able Delahoya also got a gifted decision, against Ike Quartey. He got two "gifted" decisions against Whitaker and Quartey. Delahoya has lost to some of the best fighters in his era. He lost to Trinidad, Mosley, Hopkins, Mayweather, and Pacquiao. He's an all time great at the box office. But as a fighter, he's clearly overrated. He fought the best, but he couldn't beat the best.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 Lol ok, . He was robbed against Trinidad and Quartey fight was nowhere near a gift, It could have gone either way but probably should have been a draw. Oscar's last round saved him. He deserved the fight in Mosley- DLH 2 and I think Mosley got a gift there, hardly a convincing win. And the Oscar that fought Manny and Floyd was about 7 years after he peaked as a fighter. Now I know to ignore you because you talk alot of bs.
ElSpewtardo 1 month ago
@ElSpewtardo Delahoya lost to Trinidad, because he didn't want to fight in the last three rounds. He ran away. He got a gifted decision against Whitaker, and Quartey. You can see that he lost to Whitaker, he didn't even land a clean punch on Whitaker, and he got knocked down by Whitaker. Quartey was beating Delahoya to the punch, until the 12th round. Oscar lost to Mosley twice, he got schooled by Mayweather, and he got destroyed by Pacquiao. Delahoya was an overrated fighter.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 Overrated fighter that went the distance with all these big names he fought and got pipped by dubious decisions. He was a washed up old man when he fought both Pac and Mayweather. Mayweather never even looked like knocking him out and still only got the fight cos Oscar ran out of gas the last 3 rounds.
ElSpewtardo 1 month ago
@ElSpewtardo Mayweather out-boxed, and out-schooled Delahoya. Mayweather was simply the better, and more intelligent fighter. He almost knocked Delahoya down in round 5, and he rocked Delahoya in rounds 10 and 12. Mayweather also landed more punches, and proved that he's one of the greatest defensive fighters of all time. Delahoya was an overrated fighter, who couldn't really beat the best of his era. That's why he is overrated.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 Actually I have to Jump in here.LOL Oscar was already declining when he fought Floyd. He had lost 2 of 4 before Floyd fight. So this was in no way Vintage Oscar! Just like When Floyd Fought Shane!haha In 2007 Floyd Fought a Fading Oscar & a Small Hatten. When he should have fought a younger Shane & an undefeated Cotto.
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog Oscar was past his prime, but he fought Floyd at his natural weight of 154 pounds. Floyd should of fought either Mosley or Cotto in 2008, but Mosley was past his prime as well. It wouldn't of made a difference.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 Well Maybe, maybe not.But we wont ever know.since he waited till he was Old.He Also could have fought the undefeated Cotto at the time! Floyd is a great defensive fighter. But believe me all of his fights are very carefully thought out.
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog That's the only complaint that I have about Floyd, is that he's been cherry picking during most of his career. Delahoya didn't start cherry picking, until he was at the end of his career.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 I think he is a very good boxer & his big fans constantly argue with me because I say the same thing. At the end of his career He may be undefeated....But so was Joe Calzahge & no one ever mentions him as the best ever! Now I read Manny agreed to fight Floyd but now Floyd won`t take a 50/50 split of the Money! To me that is just more proof!
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog As a fighter, Mayweather is one of the greatest of all time. But his legacy is overrated. Delahoya wasn't that great, but he fought everybody in his era.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 Stop...I`m laughing my ass off! At least delahoya fought everyone In their primes! Floyd needs to prove it by beating Pac.Time is running out.Cause everyone knows Arum aint waiting for long!He needs this fight on his record.
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog But even though Delahoya fought the best of his era, he came up short. Mayweather not only dominates his opponents in his biggest fights, he completely separates himself from them.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 Like I said AT least Oscar had the balls to fight all them in their prime. Why do uyou think he was the biggest draw??He fought shane when shane was at his peak not 38!!
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog Floyd tried to fight Shane in 99, but Shane wanted to fight Delahoya. Floyd was calling out Delahoya and Mosley for years, before they finally fought him.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 hahaha That is a Lie! In 99 Shane was`nt even in his weight Class! Floyd was a featherweight. Also Shane fought Oscar In 2000 1st because back then Oscar Was the Big dog!! He was the biggest draw. Not Floyd. Why did`nt Floyd fight Shane after he moved up? Like in 04,05 maybe hell even 08!!
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog Floyd called out Shane in 99, and 2002. And when Shane was asked to fight Floyd in 2006, he said no, because he had a tooth ache. Shane only started calling out Floyd, when Floyd became a bigger star. But Floyd started calling out Shane in 99.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 hahaha OK go Watch The Huge mismatch with Floyd & 135lb Marquez again. Then listen for the announcer! hahaha
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog But Shane was ducking Floyd first. Floyd only started avoiding Shane, when he became a big name fighter. But Shane wanted to fight Floyd, to make a lot of money. That's why he kept calling out Floyd. But in the past, Floyd always called out Delahoya and Mosley. Floyd stopped doing that, when he stopped being hungry. Now he's focusing more on money, and not on legacy.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 I Will agree with the last part of what you said.It is to bad cause In my opinion. He needs to beat a couple of great fighters in their primes to be looked at as 1 of the all time greats. His competition for a boxers with his talents will always be suspect. He needs that Mega Fight.Just like all the others before him!
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog But it's a fact. Floyd started calling out Shane back in 99, and Mosley avoided him. Delahoya also avoided Mayweather, until he decided to fight him. Mosley just started calling out Floyd, in order to make a lot of money. And Floyd needs to beat some great fighters, in order to even make the top 10 all time great lists. If not, then he'll just be in the top 20, or top 15.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 Not even Close unless he makes like 2 Mega fights and wins them Both! His demands for the fight Manny agreed to are absurd Adding the ticket sales and the sponsors will push the earnings to the $500 million mark, the website estimates.Reports say the fight is being held up by disagreement on how to share the proceeds. NBC Sports report that Mayweather’s camp has offered Pacquaio a guaranteed $40 million cash which means Floyd will keep the Pay-Per-View purse?
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog Bob Arum offered Mayweather over 40 or 45 million dollars to fight Pacquiao.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 hahahah Floyd don`t want to fight Manny! Everyone knows that.Even Floyd`s own fans. They won`t admit it though.
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog Mayweather wants to fight Manny, he's just greedy for more money.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 He is a Fake!! If he wanted manny as bad as he says he would take the 50/50 which would be more money then he made in his last to fights together!! LOL Hey Chicken!
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog He actually needs to learn how to sweeten the pot. To see if he could get Manny a lot more money, but he won't do that.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 He is Fighting Cotto Now.LOL I knew It was`nt Happening. Funny though I remember Floyd saying You fight May Leftovers. Now Cotto will be the 2nd Guy Manny Fought 1st. LOL
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog Yeah, Mayweather should of fought Cotto back in the summer of 2008. But at least the fight is finally happening. I've been wanting to see Mayweather fight Cotto, since 2005.
Transformers217 3 weeks ago
@Transformers217 It is Good they made the fight.I guess.BUt to be honest I already know the outcome & wont pay for this.Floyd needs a Real Test like Manny or Sergio. In my opinion these are the Megafights I want to see.
stiehlreddog 3 weeks ago
@stiehlreddog I don't even think Manny would be a real test for Floyd anymore. But Sergio would be a great fight.
Transformers217 3 weeks ago
@Transformers217 ALso Floyd just prooved what a fake he is.He said he has been going out of his way to fight Manny. But Manny agrees to all his stupid tests & probably told Arum he wants to fight Floyd. Then they finally Agree & Floyd says he wont take a 50/50 split!!!! To me that is a blatent DUCK!!
stiehlreddog 1 month ago
@stiehlreddog I agree.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 And if you really think he lost to Trinidad, watch the legendary fights doco on YT. One of the judges scored 3 of the first 4 rounds to Trinidad when Oscar was dominating. Jerry Roth his name, he also has a history of very imcompetent and dubious scorecards. Another judge scored the last round to Oscar when he didn't even throw a punch just to make the scorecard look more even.
ElSpewtardo 1 month ago
@ElSpewtardo Stop trying to blame the judges, and face reality. It was DELAHOYA's fault, for losing that fight. He didn't come to fight, so he lost on the judges scorecards. If Delahoya had tried to knock out Trinidad, he would of won the fight. But he chose to run like a chicken, and he lost! Plain and simple. Yes, there was bad scoring, but it was Delahoya's fault. Even Delahoya admitted that.
Transformers217 1 month ago
@Transformers217 Oscar didn't get any gifted decisions, Oscar outfought Mosley and got robbed this fight. Against Quartey Oscar sent Ike down on the canvas twice! . Whitaker was headbutting Oscar hitting from behind the back yeah Sweet P is dirty . Hopkins is much bigger and way out of his weight class. Have Hopkins lose 10-15 lbs and see if he fights the same! The Mayweather fight was judges decision Oscar shouldn't have lost. As for Pac man ask chicken floyd to stop hiding
waldo1976able 1 month ago
@waldo1976able Besides, Delahoya believes Mosley's story. Mosley didn't know that he was taking anything illegal. And Delahoya believes. So if Delahoya doesn't have a problem with what Mosley did, then I don't have a problem. If he cheated, then he cheated. But until that's proven, we don't really know. Because according to Mosley, he didn't know what he was taking.

@pearcemark2 Its true its not as exciting when someone isn't knocked out. But you also have to hand it to both of them..... they boxed the entire 12 rounds. A normal man would be exhausted after 1-3 rounds throwing that many punches. Oscar did appear to land more blows to the head.

RobertLei 11 months ago
@RobertLei He never tested positive for Roids,he was caught when the FBI was investigating a company named BALCO which was secretly manufacturing Steroid for baseball players like Barry Bonds.BALCO had a check from Mosley that was a payment for a designer Steroid and he was subpoenaed by a Court prosecutor to testify in court and that is when he was forced to admit that he had used Steroids while preparing to fight De La O.

The later rounds will succumb his stamina and will be taken out by Pac if he refrains from being merciful in the ring.
tunemeister99 1 year ago
@tunemeister99 Never really impressed with De La Hoya? The fact he won a gold medal in the Olympics and thereafter defeated 17 current and/or former world champions during his professional career wasn't that impressive, eh? Or the fact he was Ring Mag's Fighter of the Year in '95 and top-rated P4P fighter in '97 and '98 doesn't impress much?
Fuckin'-A...Pacquiao fans are so damn stupid. Really, really stupid...
Kedbuka 1 year ago
@tunemeister99 The Pac/Mosley fight is a fucking joke.

Just reminding everyone that Mosley already admitted that he was on balco steroids for this fight. Oscar would have knocked out Mosley if mosley had not juiced up. Unfortunately, the bad decsion tarnished what would have been considered another classic fight.

and who won in the rematch?
ThePintoAce 1 year ago

I scored it 117-111 to oscar...i didnt know how shane won this fight..
unclewin9 1 year ago

This is a boxing gem.
Well matched, well fought, well refferred, well judged and two athletes exhibiting the best sportsmanship.
If boxing had more of such exhibitions it wouldn't be a dying sport but a thriving sport.
