Who can play any rhythm and style he wants! And there's thousands of good players it doesnt say that he is amazing, stop comparing cause every good drummer is different on its way and style
Travis Barker? If I want a punk rock drummer who ACTUALLY has some chops and can probably be inserted into any band playing any genre of music seamlessly I'll take Josh Freese and his endless repertoire over Travis Barker any day. Any kid with a double bass pedal and a few months of lessons can ape Travis Barker.
Travis could be faster but the drums-composing level of Steward Copeland is far better. Also the band Steward played to is much better than Travis one ;)
Hey, come on now. Can't we all stop fighting and be a great drumming community? Now obviously Travis is nowhere near the drummer Copeland is but you don't need to be so harsh! It doesn't take a great drummer to be a good drummer. Travis is a GOOD drummer (how he kept up with pre-hiatus blink, with their x3 speed through live sets is enough proof) he's steady, writes some pretty cool parts (anthem part 2, aliens exist) and has a few cool tricks up his sleeve for live drum solos.

@axacingdude travis barker is prolly the most overrated drummer in existence. people just think he's amazing because he drums on a platform that moves around. travis barker sucks ass compared to stewart, tony, and dennis. listen to some real music for a change...
he definitly has his own style ..it has a rock like signature which is different than most ..its why he fit in w/ the police so well ..its jazzy and his mastery of putting together things is unbelievable
perhaps, not the best solo of all time, but prolly my favorite drummer/ musician of all time. alot of rim ckicks on the octobans. but boy, he knows how to kick a band!
@brucethedrummer yeah, but he's never been a solo type guy. musically speaking, he's definitely upper echelon when it comes to his overall feel for the music. he plays those drums like they're a piano.
he adds a lot of extra notes--that are easy to miss; I wouldn't underestimate the complexity of what he's doing, even though others guys how more thunder in their playing
