  • As far as I can see, Nick beat 3 boys that were a lot taller and heavier than him last weekend. Full credits to Nick.

How did these taller kids take it? It can be pretty hard to lose to a kid that's significantly smaller.

And how does little Nick take it. Winning so many matches, even against taller and older boys, could make one feel too good about oneself.

  • They seemed to take it well, alhough of course disappointed. At previous tournaments I have heard "He'll be easy to beat - I'm a lot bigger than him," before a match - they then learn that size isn't everything, especially in BJJ.

Nick takes it well - he knows he's good, but he does occasionally get beat, and he knows he still has a lot to learn.

He'd rather face bigger opponents his age than smaller opponents younger than him - he prefers good competition and a challenge over an easy win.

  • Nice piggyback guard. Rather unique way to handle the height difference! Then, later, a more traditional guard did the trick.

  • He actually got back mount points (4) for that move - the ref looked and his hooks were in, so he gave Nick the points.

  • LOL That big kid never knew what he was getting into. Gook job Nick.

  • Would you believe it? That boy was a head taller.
