Actually, there is some scholarly controversy as to whether the source upon which we based this production is true. The book is "Nifla'ot Maharal" - the "Wonders of the Maharal" - said to have been written by Rabbi Katz, the Maharal's son-in-law, the character played by Leonard Nimoy. Some say that the book is probably a work of fiction, written by the publisher Yudel Rosenberg. But all knowledgeable sources agree that ...
...the phenomenon of making golems is historically authentic, dating back to Biblical and Talmudic times, and that it is entirely plausible that the Maharal mastered the ancient kabbalistic wisdom embodied in the classical source book, Sefer Yetzira. More about this, and the significance of the "legend" in our everyday lives today, will soon be posted on the website (see info above for the link.)
@gotsimcha The problem though is the story of the Golem is written like the scriptures it is written in that holy code. It takes along time to create a Golem and also the Golem continuously grew and became bigger and bigger. Well each person tells the story of Golem correctly they just speak it in a different language being a man who loves knowledge of the Arts I can say to myself people might know the ritual and instructions but can people actually understand them.
I love this story The Legend is true :)
