  • This story aired shortly before I got stationed at Whidbey. Good Memories! And they included some Jean Michele Jarre music as well - sweet! If I remember correctly, the crashes they mentioned were due to wing fatigue (most of the planes were near 30 years old at the time), and this was fixed by having "new" wings manufactured ahich the units then installed.
