well, tuning down a whole step would acomplish 2 things for paul. It would put it in a tuning more to his singing voice and the string pressure would be a heck of alot lower thus easy to press down on.....more like a guitar in that sense

@athull08 : Just like when you tune a guitar down a whole step....it is the same finger positions for the chords just sounds lower. I am watching him finger the chords and his positions are exactly the same as you would play it in standard tuning. All he did was tune down a whole step. That would not require any changes to the finger positions at all...... All I am saying is that tuning down a whole step does not change finger positions one bit.

@athull08 : LOL.....I just watched like 3 different videos and they all verify what i knew. I have been playing guitar, banjo and mandolin for 33 years. Tuning an instrument down a whole step, half step of any amount of steps in no way changes the finger positions as long as each string is tuned down the same amount of steps as the other strings. I never understood the knock on this album's lyrical content. Since when were the Beatles known for their lyrics? They're no Bob Dylan. The Beatles and Paul McCartney were known for their well written (melodically) catchy songs. This is one of them.

And if you listen to Dylan's songs there are PLENTY with lyrics that are pretty vapid and even downright silly

("The Mighty Quinn", "Winterlude", etc.).

For my taste the Beatles produced far more memorable and certainly more melodic songs than Dylan ever has..and Paul has continued to do so. :D

As a Newfoundlander I was pretty pissed off when he came and protested the seal hunt. Ironically enough they were on the ice flows playing with a baby seal to show how cute they were, even though baby seals haven;t been killed since the 70's, and they touched it. This leaves a human scent on the seal making it unrecognizable to its mother. The baby seal then gets abandoned and dies soon after from starvation. So not a an of him but I do like his music.
