The New Historic Philadelphia Uptown Theater

I would like to see some of the intertainers today to contribute to a rebirth of the Uptown. It's a gold mine!

Watching this video makes me want to help revive it even more..I am 20 years old and have heard great things about this theater when it was running, Becuase of the stories i am currently working on a way to try to revitalize the theater. I love my city and think violence can lesson if children get to experience the world of music and the Philadelphia Sound. Wish me Luck!

I didn't realize where on N. Broad St. the Uptown was, until I was a sudent at Temple U in Johnson Hall. My big sister used to take me there when I would visit Philly -- as a kid, to see the 5 Stairsteps, Brenda & The Tabulations and others! Great love & memories. Peace:)

I hope someone restores this even as just a museum...it's too much history to let go I drive by it everything and I hope someone does something I would even help out

This would be a great thing for the neighborhood ! It would enhance a broader way of thinking and livelyhood of the people who live ,work and play in this area. Everything would come up positively.

@grandmomjan I agree. I am 20 years old and have always heard great things about the Uptown when it was runing. Seeing this video made me want ohelp revitalize this building even more. I am currently working on a way to do this and will start the process this summer. Temple might can knock down homes, but they will never knock down memories. I do not want to see this building touched by Temple unless they make it for entertainment purposes, so i figured i'd step in
