No, it is a pretty smooth ride. Check some reviews on the net. At least I enjoy the ride on BS6 more than the ride on a Chrysler Intrepid though. But could be the lousy road in northern Ontario compromise Intrepid suspension.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think it is the identically equipped car they tested. The one that performed poorly had a sunroof that collapsed badly, this one didn't have it. Wonder if it will be different if this had the sunroof as well. As for the Chinese cars, I would give them chance, they are fairly new to the car bus. Koreans were the same 20 years ago, so I think they will catch up eventually.

I'ld still wait until an independent EuroNCAP tester (e.g. ADAC) confirms these results using a random car out of several shipments (at least that would make the test more believable in terms of quality not only applying for one chosen test-vehicle). Because being able to design a safer car and actually building one are different things, especially when the result is meant to be lowest budget.

If those are both real tests, that is an amazing improvement for a manufacturer to achieve. Three stars? It looks more like four in terms of how the structure stays almost intact. I think this is a good-looking car, wouldn't mind betting that some Italian design was involved (the wheels look similar to Alfa Romeo 166 wheels). Cars will be made in China; no doubt about it. What you want to arguement about? Is it safer than Passat, Mondeo, or S40? No. Is it safer than Aygo, Polo, or Mini? No. It is pretty good for 2000 Euros; But for 20,000 Euros, you can buy a 116i or a three-years-old 520i. Sorry, I am not convinced that Chinese cars are good value or good quality. And this test proved that it is not very safe either.

For some people, 1series is too small and a little bit too expensive. Used car is used car, some people will pay more to get a new Camry over 3 years old 520i.

That may be good enough to sell them in china, but there's no way they can sell anything in germany like this.

Oh really? I get lot of ride on BS6 in my hometown. There are old and new, none of them has the kind of smell you are talking about. And you know ADAC like to frame on company from oversea, don't you? I do not want to discuss much about half ass VW or said fancy Benz. Cause other than BMW and Porsche, the rest of German manufacture are in trouble. Not because there technology, but their price just not live up with their quality.

No, it is a pretty smooth ride. Check some reviews on the net. At least I enjoy the ride on BS6 more than the ride on a Chrysler Intrepid though. But could be the lousy road in northern Ontario compromise Intrepid suspension.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think it is the identically equipped car they tested. The one that performed poorly had a sunroof that collapsed badly, this one didn't have it. Wonder if it will be different if this had the sunroof as well. As for the Chinese cars, I would give them chance, they are fairly new to the car bus. Koreans were the same 20 years ago, so I think they will catch up eventually.

Did You notice that in the second test, there is no ADAC or NCAP signatures? I wouldn't be suprised if some incorrectness of this test was revealed (lower speed, materials not used in production etc.)

I'ld still wait until an independent EuroNCAP tester (e.g. ADAC) confirms these results using a random car out of several shipments (at least that would make the test more believable in terms of quality not only applying for one chosen test-vehicle). Because being able to design a safer car and actually building one are different things, especially when the result is meant to be lowest budget.

I would never drive chinese car.This brilliance is much better than the old one, but 3 stars are not enough. I would say new car is shit if it doesn't get 5 stars. When i read car magazines, it seems like every new cars get 5 stars. I would by it if it has 5 stars, made i europe and not a copy of "real" cars.

If those are both real tests, that is an amazing improvement for a manufacturer to achieve. Three stars? It looks more like four in terms of how the structure stays almost intact. I think this is a good-looking car, wouldn't mind betting that some Italian design was involved (the wheels look similar to Alfa Romeo 166 wheels). Cars will be made in China; no doubt about it. Everything else is!

Like it or not, the entire planet is now running on a global economy, and all producers are learning how to build products of sufficient quality to compete in the world arena. Compliments to these guys for a satisfactory improvement. Time will tell if they can compete in export markets, but at least the car will be safer in their domestic market now. I admit though, I own German and American cars.

It is hard trying not to buy a product made from China these days though. Walk through the mall and 90% of the clothes are made from there. Same with toys, some furniture, electronics and even some cars. Sony PS2s for example are made in China, despite the fact it is a Japanese company.

What you want to arguement about? Is it safer than Passat, Mondeo, or S40? No. Is it safer than Aygo, Polo, or Mini? No. It is pretty good for 2000 Euros; But for 20,000 Euros, you can buy a 116i or a three-years-old 520i. Sorry, I am not convinced that Chinese cars are good value or good quality. And this test proved that it is not very safe either.

Simple, just want to tell you it is nothing wrong to sell this car in Europe. For those car (MOndeo, S40...) you are talking about, they are large family car. BS6 is an executive class car. For some people, 1series is too small and a little bit too expensive. Used car is used car, some people will pay more to get a new Camry over 3 years old 520i.
