@djthemoney Maybe its your Mixer holding you back man, Could be your Crossfader Isn't steep enough, Try adjusting your Curve. You might need to Upgrade? I Recomend Vestax or Rane Mixers (I would suggest Vestax, Just as good Lower Price)
You can do the crab with 3 or 4 fingers...i think if its 2 its referred to as atwiddle, not sure though..check out my vids guys..i get busy on the crab scratch.

LOL...the only reason you guys think crab scratching hampster is so difficult is becuase you all scratch normal. ive stuck to scratch hampster ever since i started and after alot of practice my first couple of months scratch, crabs became easy.. i doesnt matter which way you do it the key is PRACTICE..(and lots of it)
yeh he's right, if you keep practicing u can scratch whatever way u want, i found once you learn to scratch hamster as well it opens up totally new scratch combos
my cousins scratch hamster style..so when they taught me how to scratch, i practiced on their tables (which was set up hamster style), so I guess that's how i picked it up. I'm too used to it now so I don't think I could go back and learn the normal way.
i gently rest mine on the top of the fader, so its pointing straight down whilst the fader is in the off position, then i slide my finger flat along the face of the mixer into the fader so it moves but the thumb is resisting it, then when your finger slides off the fader, the thumb automatically pushes it back to the off position, then you repeat with the next finger
also make sure you do each finger individually, as the problem i first had was that the next finger was pushing the fader back on, before it was fully off... hope my comments help you!
thats not even a crab scratch hommie....you need all four clicks ....keep it up...it will come sooner or later....all so you need 4 clicks foward and 4 clicks backward.....like um lets see...4 foward then 4 foward then 4 backward then 4 backward...its alot different that what you are doing

the crab can be done with either 3 or all 4 fingers, it is still a crab, (2 is a twiddle and any more is a crab)
