If you think about it, this scene is a major reveal (not quite character development, since they've always been this messed) and it's a good glance in on just how messed up these two characters are. It explores the human mind, damaged and undamaged, if you compare the bewildered gang members to the calm, content twins. I could go on and on about why this is a great scene, really.
