when im trying to bend im making an Eooo Eooo sound and it is going up and down in pitch but im wondering if its cause im hitting the notes next to it as well so im gonna tape up the holes on either side so i can isolate one hole and make it bend but then i thought is it definately just the one hole you bend or is it a little bit of pit from the others that helps the bend.its a little bit harder than i thought.it is going up and down in pitch but i cant isolate a note and obviously i need to :)

@chrisdavies23359 I can answer you as an owner of Blues Band, a similiar model at least in terms of quality. I also have a Golden Melody, so have some comparision here. These cheap harmonicas can bend but it's so so much difficult, especially on channels 2 and 3. Try 1 or 4, these are the easiest. If you enjoy the instrument I would really recommend getting sth better.

I really liked this tutorial, more than the rest but I still feel like the best thing would be to hit my harmonica with a hammer. I just dont have the mouth skills to do this. Also i'm simply not having fun and have lost the passion.

heyy i play the harmonica and i play some songs but never bended before if you could. if i put a vid up of me trying to bend could you tell me if i did it right and what were the tabs at the start cause iv been trying to get the bluesy tone to my harmonica tunes and i use a swan diatonic c harmonica does differnt types of c's make a difference in richness to the song you play????

Great....Great video. I just picked up the harmonica. I played when I was young, but never got past "When the Saints Come Marching In". The only problem is...I cannot bend the notes! I picked up a cheap harp to play the part in "What I LIke About You", and now I must know more. My question is, can you bend on a cheapo harp, or is it more for better ones. @jasonricci thanks for the awesome video. i notice when you hit your bends you get this dirty warbly sound almost like a trumpet (which i love). i kind of get it on hole 2 and i notice that i can get that sound by partially blocking the hole with my bottom lip in a way. but i can't really get it on other holes. any tips on this?

i enjoyed it ... lol... i got a harmonica with soooo many wholes in it 40 - always two - now i cannot get any melodie together it drives me crazy.... always the first notes and then...can not find the next note.. so what could i do??
@Diputsur1999 One piercing to represent an individual hole on the harmonica, evenly divided between both ears. Isn't that what ALL the kids are doing these days? Personally, I feel that I was born with every hole I need... except for the 10 that I can only get on the harp. : ]

hey thx u helped me out alot^^... I am able to bend notes (I think) but how do I reckognize the different steps from each other... I am able to bend the 4 draw to what I thought was two different steps but apparently its not... if anyone has an idea please help a guy out... Once again thank you so much for posting this:)
I can tell you this has been a very helpful demonstration. In fact everyone who trys to explain how to bend does it differently but a little here and there is very helpful. The more info and practice is what is needed. If only I could play like this guy Id be happy.
I am trying to bend my c harp for 2 years and still cant bend it properly. Doing a little 1 and 4 holes but thats it. Have any idea where do i doing it wrong?
I currently play a cheap chromatic harmonica, and I'm not sure if the same rules apply to them as with diatonic, regarding bening. Anyway, is it cheating (i.e. a bat shortcut) if you tilt the harmonica slightly upward to achieve a bent tone easier, or is it a good way to start until you get the hang of it?
i use my tounge as a funnal into a hole thats the only way i can do it but above all im not sure if i am even doing it right i like the blues sound thats the whole resion i got a hohner blues harp but it seems all i can play is the 12 bar blues i think i can kinda do the EHH OHH thing but im not sure and i cant bend as far as 2 steps only one do u have any tips id like to keep trying atlest

3rd video I watched on the Tube that really hit home. Practiced for 5 minutes and did it on hole 1 as clear as day.. now to get it on the other holes and at the different levels.

I have problems with that darn 10 hole. I can get it to bend on accident but I can't seem to control it the way I want it to, you wouldnt happen to have any pointers or even a video on bending the 10 hole? I suppose all my blow bends could use a little more work.
After a little while I finally got it! But.. I can only bend on my diatonic harp! I somehow can't get it right on my chromatic no matter what I do... It's possible to bend notes on a chromatic, right? :o
Strang, I have tried out a few bending video "Tutorials" now and I don't know why but as I have seen ur video I understood how to get does notes bended :o)))) Can't explain that, but anyhow I did it after 2 days on each hole from 1-6 Thanx for that one.
I watched so many videos on how to bend harmonica, and i can only bend the 1st note on my G harp using this method. I do same thing with other notes(holes) and nothing happens. But if i block some of the enterence with my lips , it works. And then the sound isnt perfect .Is it ok to bend this way too? nothing works...any advise?

I have the 1 bend down. I can make a bend TB or pucker, but thats all its just a pitch change not a clear note. Am I drawing too hard maybe? Could it be the reeds? Listened to New Blood disc on emusic today, awsome dude.

how do you personally select a single hole? i roll my tongue and thats how i find easiest. but it means i cant do the staccato notes, any help?

hey thx u helped me out alot^^... I am able to bend notes (I think) but how do I reckognize the different steps from each other... I am able to bend the 4 draw to what I thought was two different steps but apparently its not... if anyone has an idea please help a guy out... Once again thank you so much for posting this:)

I can tell you this has been a very helpful demonstration. In fact everyone who trys to explain how to bend does it differently but a little here and there is very helpful. The more info and practice is what is needed. If only I could play like this guy Id be happy.

I currently play a cheap chromatic harmonica, and I'm not sure if the same rules apply to them as with diatonic, regarding bening. Anyway, is it cheating (i.e. a bat shortcut) if you tilt the harmonica slightly upward to achieve a bent tone easier, or is it a good way to start until you get the hang of it?

i use my tounge as a funnal into a hole thats the only way i can do it but above all im not sure if i am even doing it right i like the blues sound thats the whole resion i got a hohner blues harp but it seems all i can play is the 12 bar blues i think i can kinda do the EHH OHH thing but im not sure and i cant bend as far as 2 steps only one do u have any tips id like to keep trying atlest

I have a couple of problems:
1)I cannot bend more than a half-step.
2)I cannot blow/draw only 1 note,everytime I attempt to blow/draw 1 note I do so with the previous or next as well.
These things are frustrating me so much...I am dedicated to learn the harmonica and I hit a brick wall,just as I did with the guitar.

Hey, when you're saying "tee too" are you doing both while drawing on the 1 hole. because the "too" note is the same note as the blowing 1 hole.

Brilliant! I have watched many videos on bending and still come out empty handed. This video, however, had me bending notes on the first or second try (almost immediatly after your explanation). Thank you!

3rd video I watched on the Tube that really hit home. Practiced for 5 minutes and did it on hole 1 as clear as day.. now to get it on the other holes and at the different levels.

I have problems with that darn 10 hole. I can get it to bend on accident but I can't seem to control it the way I want it to, you wouldnt happen to have any pointers or even a video on bending the 10 hole? I suppose all my blow bends could use a little more work.

Strang, I have tried out a few bending video "Tutorials" now and I don't know why but as I have seen ur video I understood how to get does notes bended :o)))) Can't explain that, but anyhow I did it after 2 days on each hole from 1-6 Thanx for that one.

I watched so many videos on how to bend harmonica, and i can only bend the 1st note on my G harp using this method. I do same thing with other notes(holes) and nothing happens. But if i block some of the enterence with my lips , it works. And then the sound isnt perfect .Is it ok to bend this way too? nothing works...any advise?

I have the 1 bend down. I can make a bend TB or pucker, but thats all its just a pitch change not a clear note. Am I drawing too hard maybe? Could it be the reeds? Listened to New Blood disc on emusic today, awsome dude.
