It was not THAT bad. There are worse horror movies out there. Try seeing shutter and not laughing throughout the whole movie. The hospital scene wasn't bad. The first halloween remake was better than H2.

I really liked this movie - thought it was trying to do something different with the franchise, which I got and appreciated. After watching your review I was expecting to see a train wreck, but far from it. It is a movie with problems no question, but I don't agree that it is a 'terrible, terrible movie'. In fact, I rate it as the second best Halloween movie after the original - but that's only my opinion!

It didn't even feel like a Halloween/Micheal Myers/slasher film to me, and even though they brought back alot of the same characters and it followed right after the first one, it still didn't feel like it had anything to do with the first film. I don't think that Halloween II was as bad as you're saying it is. There were certain aspects of the movie that I tought were good. I particularly liked Dr. Lumus's story and I thought that the acting was very authentic. However, the violence I have to agree was extremely gratuitous and didn't need to be. And although I can appreciate the attempt Rob Zombie made for bringing us into Michael's head I thought that having his mother and the white horse felt completely out of place in the film.
Ok I'm a fan of the Halloween series and and to be honest,this movie was nothing special but it alright in my book. There was somethings in the movie that I didn't like but it is not the worst movie ever people.

I was unaware that death and dying was supposed to look pretty and sparkly. The gritty nature of the film, the episodes and the torment of Angels mind are well potrayed in this film. When someone is being torn apart by their own mind I don't think it should look like they are having a good time. The film was good, the music was great, and the brutality was realistic. This is Rob Zombies Halloween and he made it something worth seeing.

I've watched 100s upon 100s of entries this year, and there are some genuinely good movies, won of which I gave 3 stars, far better than many theatrically released this year. It's called Summerhood, and it's Goonies meets The Sandlot meets Salute Your Shorts

It was not THAT bad. There are worse horror movies out there. Try seeing shutter and not laughing throughout the whole movie. The hospital scene wasn't bad. The first halloween remake was better than H2.
Also you said district 9 was bad in your other review :(

I really liked this movie - thought it was trying to do something different with the franchise, which I got and appreciated. After watching your review I was expecting to see a train wreck, but far from it. It is a movie with problems no question, but I don't agree that it is a 'terrible, terrible movie'. In fact, I rate it as the second best Halloween movie after the original - but that's only my opinion!

I thought the movie was ok the first time I went to see it then the second time I noticed some odd things like the setting and dead characters coming back in a different scene dressed in something else the vehicles people were driving, but if I dont say so myself this fruitloop could'nt do a better job!!!

Dude, he's not being that big a douche. I was a real big fan of Rob Zombie's first Halloween, but I couldn't even understand where the f*ck he was going with this movie. It didn't even feel like a Halloween/Micheal Myers/slasher film to me, and even though they brought back alot of the same characters and it followed right after the first one, it still didn't feel like it had anything to do with the first film. And I know they explained the whole white horse thing at the start, but still.

I don't think that Halloween II was as bad as you're saying it is. There were certain aspects of the movie that I tought were good. I particularly liked Dr. Lumus's story and I thought that the acting was very authentic. However, the violence I have to agree was extremely gratuitous and didn't need to be. And although I can appreciate the attempt Rob Zombie made for bringing us into Michael's head I thought that having his mother and the white horse felt completely out of place in the film.

I actually liked it. Story not so great, but good disturbing moments. I thought the whole grainy, 70's look was pretty freaky.And tyler bates score was great. No offense but I feel your kinda fake. I cant take your serious "no movie pleases me " act . uhhh I guess id respect your views if i saw a good short film made by you.

I was unaware that death and dying was supposed to look pretty and sparkly. The gritty nature of the film, the episodes and the torment of Angels mind are well potrayed in this film. When someone is being torn apart by their own mind I don't think it should look like they are having a good time. The film was good, the music was great, and the brutality was realistic. This is Rob Zombies Halloween and he made it something worth seeing.

I actually walked out at the scene where the sister starts screaming " die bit@h" when the movie skips back to young michael killing his duct taped mom or whomever. Ugh this movie was pissing me off right from the get-go and especially with the long misty night walks through the fields with Michael. Like what we really need is Michael contemplating the reason of life or something! UGH! Rob Zombie will never change.

I am a die hard Halloween fan aswell. When i saw halloween 2 i enjoyed it. I went back to watch reviews on itjust to see what others thought. And i understand were people are coming from. i thought it still was decent. my 2 biggest peevs with the movie are the whole mother white horse thing and then How DARK all the scenes were. i was in a pitch black theater and still had a hard time seein what was goin on at times. otherwise it was still decent and very brutal.

I am a fan of Rob Zombie;s filmaking but guys, come on, a REAL fan is one who can know when something is good and when its not, HALLOWEEN II is horrible, its Robs WORST piece everm and lets face it he dropped the ball. The shaky cam and vioence werent an issue forme, its the story, the story was just wful and u guys know that.

You know actually I thought the story had great potential but Rob Zombie's directing screwed it all up. He actually made a pretty good story for this one besides the white horse part but his directing is god awful. It was actually better than the first remake but Halloween 2 was still bad. If they plan to make a 3rd one they should keep Rob as writer but they need to get a better Director.

But I do think they just gave away too much in the trailer
They could have used a lot more Viral marketing in preparation for this movie
On a plus side I do like how Rob didn't completely copy the original but He did take It a different dirction...BUT it was completely unlike the Michele Myers I grew up with and was completely terrified of,to be honest this new vision of michele didnt scare me

It's from last year's Tallgrass Film Festival. I'm on the programming board so it was given to me. I've watched 100s upon 100s of entries this year, and there are some genuinely good movies, won of which I gave 3 stars, far better than many theatrically released this year. It's called Summerhood, and it's Goonies meets The Sandlot meets Salute Your Shorts
