  • Wow....I have celiac and my whole life has been switch around my doctor took 3 years to figure I have celiac but I wish the best for you!

  • Doctors very long route, in addition there might be all sorts of things going on, gluten free diet the option I''ve chose. Nothing to loose anyway, apart from few pieces of bread. Second day, gluten free food. Much much more energetic. My main problem apart from stomach issues was fatigue. Maybe it's placebo effect, but it definately works! Cheerio!

  • Hi, did u stop gluten free diet for 6 weeks before doing a proper test to confirm your desease? I might have this desease as well, didn't know what is wrong with me all my life.

  • @m522n Unfortunately, I changed my diet before being informed that I ought to wait to have the biopsy. Because I have been symptom-free for 5 years now, I have opted not to return to eating gluten to confirm a diagnosis when my symptoms are all gone, but it is best to do the biopsy if you can. I hope you find out what's going on for you soon!

  • I can see where you are coming from, though I have had 2 positive blood results, I am going to my family doctor, for referral to the hospital to have a bronchoscopy done of the small intestine.

Though I would much prefer to just go on a Gluten Free diet, as I have had enough procedures done throughout my childhood and also as an adult. Over the last year it is been my worst and this is when I was told that I had Ceoliac Disease.

I have had the bronchoscopy done about 3 months ago in my lung.

  • @celtpro Wow you've definitely been through a lot! I wish you the best as you continue this journey and that you're feeling better soon!

  • I diagnosed myself because I do not believe in doctors. After a most painfull bout I changed my diet to gluten free and right away began to have elimination which eased the pain. I had gone to the ER in 2009 with all the symptoms but they could not find anything wrong. This is my 3rd week without gluten. I still have some pain but at least I can walk. It always helps to hear someone elses story.

  • @pamprw Thank you for your post! I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms and I'm happy to hear that you are beginning to feel somewhat better. I respect your beliefs about doctors, but I do always strongly recommend that everyone be checked out by a doctor before concluding what may be going on. Good luck!

  • I was just diagnosed on friday. It;s been hard. I had the blood test and then went on a gluten free diet to see how I felt because my doctor asked me to try it. A couple of days later I felt so much better.I went back for a follow up appointment friday and she said because of my diet and the blood test results coming back positive she diagnosed me with celiac disease. Me and my mom went to whole foods and fresh market and stocked up on the basics of gluten free food. Really happy to not be sick.

  • @PinkHawk191 I'm so glad you were able to find out and that you're already feeling better!

  • I had the same experience, only that I found out myself. I felt 200 % better in like no time after changing my diet. It's a shame doctors aren't looking out for that disease.

  • I know this video is a year old and you might not see this reply, but I just wanted to say how happy I am that you found out what was wrong because all of that negativity of other people blaming you for your condition can really wear you down. You are so beartiful and have a very nice presense on the camera. God bless you and all that you do in life.

  • @sam92teg Thanks for your thoughtful words! I always read all my comments and I'm happy to hear your positivity. Thanks!

  • hey to anyone who has this condition, so does this mean that if you follow a gluten diet that sometime like every month or so just one day out of that month are u allowed to eat maybe just a few junk food or do u have to stick to no gluten your whole life

  • @gerardtravis19 Thanks for your comment. With this particular diagnosis, the answer is that yes, you completely have to remain off of gluten for the remainder of your life. But with time, it becomes habit and you don't think so much of it. If anyone has this diagnosis, I strongly urge you speak with a doctor or dietitian about your diet.

  • I don't have the desire to eat bread or sandwiches much anymore. It's strange, but perhaps has to do with how I know I feel after eating things of that nature.

  • This reminds me a lot of my story. :( I always had stomach cramps when I was little, never thought it was anything and was led to believe it was normal and not related to bugs, etc. I am 25, and weight 10 lbs less than I did throughout high school. Thin, but that's okay. :) Always eating healthfully, fruits, vegetables, water, fruit punch sometimes.

  • This is what I am going through right now. all being attributed to stress. It's always occurring after I eat, even after hours after I eat, alternating looseness in moving my bowels, then really heavy diarrhea, stomach cramping.

My Dr now wants me to come in for a H Pylori breath test because they think I might have ulcer. then after that, do endoscopy.

I also have not been able to digest all my fat, as a lot is coming out.

  • i was diagnosed with celiac about a month ago and its been hard. i feel like im alone because im the only one who cant eat the school lunch.

  • @wolftail9 It's definitely hard in the beginning, especially when it can cause you to feel like you're isolated from your peers. Keep it up though and eventually you will be a pro! Keep me posted on how it goes!

  • Im 14 and i just found out i have celiac disease. I feel like i cant eat anything!!

  • @hollistagurl22 It's definitely tough, but you'll make it! It's probably a good thing that you were diagnosed so young because now you can really be rooted in the diet as you mature. It is always hard in the beginning for everyone, but you will get through it!

  • I really appreciate you having the courage to share with us your experiences. I'm sure you will help thousands in time! I hope you're doing ok! :)

  • For people like me with CD the Gluten causes Severe Diahrea. Ouch! The GF Diet has helped me very much but along with it the thing that is helping me the most tremendously is eating SauerKraut twice a day! A friend found it on the Internet about CD & C-DIF and it really has helped! I no longer have to use Immodium. Best wishes!

  • Thank you for sharing your story. I'm 24 and have had acid reflux problems since i was 18 but was able to control it with medication. Over the past 3 months I've been dealing with these stomach pains and odd bowel movements that wouldn't get better no matter what I did! I landed in the ER twice in addition to seeing two specialists and was diagnosed with everything from Gastroentritis, Parasites, IBS, and Lactose Intolerance. With a new doc now trying G free diets and am already seeing results!

  • Hi, I was just dx with CD myself. I'm 30 and have been sick it seems like forever. I too am just on the net, books etc searching for answers. I am malnourished, but yet very over weight. I'm very swollen, numbness in my hands feet etc the dizzy, passing out spells constantly nasauted and it feels like I'm just going to vomit all the time. I've been gluten free for a week today and am still not great, but have a bit of improvement. Thanks for sharing your story!

  • @feliciasmith09 wow, sounds like you've been through quite a lot! I'm so glad you've finally been diagnosed. From what I hear, I believe it's very unusual that I felt better so quickly on the gluten free diet. I'm glad you're starting to feel a little bit better, it will only improve from here!
