I've connect the mac mini to my iMac using the ethernet cable. But on the 'Server Admin' , there is no mac mini option like in this video. Cam somebody help me? I have change the ethernet cable several time but the problem still occur. Thanks
@cobrakill3121 i think its also depending on how you care for a server. you may understand it wrong, but a badly-set-up linux server is not good.
linux has shown its powers as a server os, also because of its security, but stating it as a server-option for leetsmen is simply wrong, as every solution has its benefits.
An "Apple Mac Mini Server"? Are you sure it wasn't just a Mac Mini you will be using for a server? If that is the case you payed WAAAY too much for the performance you get from that box. For your uses, you could either build a box for ~$200 and get the performance you'll use, or if you use it for web serving and such build a box for the same price with ~30% better performance.
Now that computer in general is great for use as a regular computer. It's just far too pricy for a home server...
@pcfreak1992 Our plugs are that big because they house an earth pin and were among the first anywhere in the world to do so, so they kind of stuck because the design was so solid and successful. A lot of plugs in other countries still lack an earth pin, and instead just have a live and neutral, so they're not as safe. UK plugs also have a fuse in them in case of a power surge so it blows the fuse rather than the things connected with it (a power surge protector is still recommended though too).
Hi there, is it possible to use the mac os x server operating system as normal as the retail operating system Mac os x Snow Leopard.
because, the reason why im asking is that i would like to use the mac os x server operating system as my main operating system.
As i am currently using mac os x snow leopard i was just wondering if the server os still retains the same features as snow leopard does while having the extra ability/features of the server features.

The hardware is slightly different in that there is no DVD drive, instead a second hard disk is installed. The other major difference is that it comes with Snow Leopard server, not the workstation version. If you are just after a workstation then this isn't for you. If you are after a server for your network then this is a good choice, but setting it up is more challenging than a normal Mac!
u can do alot with it but u cannot upgrade anything really on a apple product 99% of the time.

@pcfreak1992 Now that's a good question. There is a great article on 'plug versus plug' on cnet.co.uk you might want to look at!
Having also lived in the USA and France must admit I prefer the UK plug and socket system!
