  • Hey. I have a Waldner Black Devil CB. I play already well with it but could I be better when using your speed glue? Where can I buy rubbers for my Black Devil, which glue do you use, and how expensive will this be anyways...? thanks.

  • @WorldofMidnight Speed glue is now banned so it is illegal to use it. We recommend a number of rubbers on our website. There are however a huge number of really good rubbers available.

  • @pingskills Dude, actually, I'm just playing on my old schoolyard. I developed a technique that enables me to play well without rubber at all, yet, for that my main question was "dies it bring me anything or would it totally change my style?" This being said, I give shit about if it's legal or not. Nobody knows. So, where can I buy those rubbers? (I'm living in NRW, Germany.)

  • @WorldofMidnight If you are used to playing without any rubber at all then just getting a decent rubber would totally change your style. Table Tennis at a high level is all about spin and for that you need some decent rubber.

  • @pingskills Hey, ya, I know that. But like said, I have already become acquainted with having no rubber at all AND I can use spin. It is possible. It's just harder and requires another kind of techniue... Anyways, thanks! :)

  • @pingskills okay thanks... still I'd like to to try out... summing up, what I have to do is to go to the next hardware store and buy myself that so-called speed glue. that's it? :)

  • @WorldofMidnight When it was legal I always got the glue from Table Tennis companies. You could try asking some online Table Tennis stores if they still sell it?

  • @pingskills Gonna do that in Dusseldorf where Mr Boll played, tomorrow. Thanks for the hint, though. Bye!

  • colas que deixam o jogo mais rápidos são proibidas pela ITTF!

  • is that a R.I.T.C rubber?

  • are you a beginer ?

  • @matex1205 No. You can find out more about me on the PingSkills website.

  • Is this Sriver FX ?

  • @ppalavichkoo at the time I was using normal Sriver.

  • i use a ITTF racket

  • hi wat rubbers do u use?

  • @Skate3Productionz I'm now using Xiom Vega Pro with the PingSkills Touch blade.

  • do you know if and where i can get a speed glue nowadays?

  • heh^^ ;D

  • butterfly is quite good but DHS is made in china and china table tennis is soo good so i use DHS

  • really bad done job... in the times of speed glueing i was 13 years old, and it did never took the night before to glue a good rubber. those cheap friendship rubbers you need to apply 4-5 to coats and let it dry over a week just for fun, to let the glue through the sponge. but on a butterfly sriver, bryce or whatever you cant go with just one coat of speedglue, the effect is just zero.. and not just a barely thin coat. but why am i complaining, the times of fast table tennis are over :/

  • @TravelMates93 thanks for you take on speed gluing.

  • Hahah if you play table tennis for your skool, no one will know that u use speed glue - just use it guys!

  • hello

speed glue is originally bicycle puncture repair glue isn't it?

  • can someone explain to me what is a factory tuned rubber?

  • @enemie55 no

  • hi are joola mambo and joola tango good rubbers?

    btw gd vid

  • @jedandtodd no those sucks use Mark V HPS or Rakza7 from yasaka

  • aint butterfly shriver a bit slow for such a good player?

  • I know speed glue is banned for tournament use but I decided to try it for recreational purposes and applied it to my Sriver EL rubber that I bought today. The instruction manual said to glue till a slight dome formed as it dried and then apply it to the blade. However, the rubber is doming too much and is continually peeling off the blade. I literally bought this rubber today and am not sure what to do! Any help?

  • is that rubber cement?

  • is a good wood jajajaja primorac off- true?? =me xD

i played with speed glue, but the speed glue, is banned .really??

    now i play with optimizer

  • there are called "anti-spin rubbers" whatever they called that..

they said that when the opponent does a spin..

then you hit it back.. the ball's like vibrating sumthing like that.. its so wierd..

.. i dont even believe my own mate.. "D hehe..

  • i wish i had seperate racket parts in my country , over here they are just pre-built rackets so you dont have much of a choice , btw how does the glue affect play

  • please make a vido on how to choose a good ping pong racket

  • @milotist Butterfly is a good racket

  • ¸nice flexstra rubbers

  • no all pros play with a black forehand omg

  • lol, idiots saying you can't glue, there are a few checmicals you can buy which have absolutely same effects and which are undetectable with the ittf standerdised testing solution kit so there, i personally don't use the stuff as a naturall defender, but there you go, wanna play me just let me know you will loose

  • I just bought JOOLA Glue Rossi Plus and new rubbers. I am completely new to speed glue. So I am going to do 3 to 4 layers before I put the rubbers on the blade, and then never remove the rubber from the blade, is that ok? What is your suggestion please reply.

  • anyone know plz answer?!

  • If you want to speed glue yet you never remove the rubber, the best method is to put a few layers of speed glue on the rubbers and blade. Then wait 45 minutes to an hour to allow the rubber to "dome" or change shape and then change back into regular shape. Then stick it on. If you glue it on while the rubber is still in a dome shape, the rubbers will try to change back to its original shape while still on your blade after a month or two which is BAD. I use this method myself and it works well.

  • I've been to couple USATT tourney's and was worried on the glue I used. (Very light rubber cement. Didn't know if it was legal or illegal). They didn't check anyone paddles for glue. Only width of paddle (rubber to rubber) and if anything had been sprayed on the rubber itself for a advantage.

  • on ma nie dozwolony klej

  • I'll use speed glue until the day I die. Speed gluing is the name of the game. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Everyone at my club speeds glue...and we are able to play in official tournament. It's our secret!

  • You cant use this Glue anymore.

  • you should ignore this video as you're not allowed to use speed glue any more (going by the ITTF regulations) or any glue with VOCs in. The only place I've seen this enforced is in national competition (uk grand prix circuit and above) so you could probably get away with it at lower level, though most experienced players should be able to tell from the sound the ball makes when it hits the racket.

  • can you use any kind of glue i.e (superglue)???

  • i have the same bat lol

  • man you need a roller i have never seen anyone use their arm and i would think your second method would leave a ton of air bubbles

  • i would like to see the idiot, that puts lot of pressure on the rubber and blade that it snaps in half, then they use the same glue for rubber to put the blade pieces together. lol

  • last saturday i was in second place,bleeeeeeeeee...........!! hehehe

  • which are the best racket in table tennis

    cause i use joola rackets

  • there's no best padde >.>

    whichever one suits you.

  • butterfly-Sardius is quite good I use Sardius

  • where can i buy one like that, heheh

  • Anywhere o.o but that's not too high of a quality. Looks like a 2 star to me. Might be 3. But what do I know, I need really see it in action xD But like if you live in the US, modell would have it.

  • what type of glue did you use???

was that butterfly millenium chack or butterfly fair chack?

  • I was using Butterfly fair chack. However the rules have changed and speed glue is no longer legal.

  • How would a competition committee determine whether you are speed gluing or not in order to enforce the rule?

  • @pingskills why is it ilegall 8is it the health or somthing like dat

  • @hejmeddig713 I think that the ITTF were worried about the health issues surrounding speed glue so this probably was a big part of the decision.

  • @hejmeddig713

Dat? Are you too lazy to spell out the word that?

  • @masanf im thumbs up bcz i was drowzy DAT (hehe) day

  • @mana27 The glue is ininfluent, my friend

  • juse boost tp and tc the best rubbers,

    they cost 62 dollar each

  • @projektforlife Yeah, try using Boost TX and Boost TC,it rocks!

  • i know, do you mean boost tx and boost ts? you wrote tc, i have tc now but it has come a new rubber that is calld ts

  • @projektforlife I mean try using them on your paddle, they make a great team,I don't really like Boost TS.

  • it is ilegal with that glue,

  • WHat is the best blade off all? I use Stiga....

    It is good?!?!?

  • do you play tabletennis? if you dont, your racket sucks

  • forreal shawty...

  • i got a five dollor sportscraft paddle and ill fucken own all you guys. hahahaha

  • right....

  • who gives a crap that its illegal now; unless your really pro which your probably not, just have fun, no one gonna lock you up because you put a little glue playing with your friends. and what i heard/read, the only reason it was banned to lengthen the game aka have longer rallies

  • They won't lock you up, but if you play a tournament and you're caught. You'll be disqualified. It was banned for reasons concerning player's health, lack of evidence or not, there is some validity in it. But the ITTF wouldn't tell you they were trying to lengthen the rallies even if that was the only answer.

  • if you play real, i mean that you plat competition and stuffs like that

  • A question from someone who knows very little about table tennis, What is the big deal about glues for the bats, and do the rubbers have to be replaced alot?

  • the rubbers have to be replaced each 4 months, depending as uses them

  • depends on how you play and how much...it could break down in a few days if you are a pro that plays alot

  • The glue affects (stretches) the rubber and makes the bat faster and increases spin. Some people were ripping off the rubber and re-gluing every five games or so, so glue inhalation was an issue. They finally banned it after a kid died in Japan at a tournament from glue inhalation. Competitive pressure always sends people to extremes and misuse of any legal tactic.

Speed glue was the worst and stupidest development in competitive table tennis ever.

  • Ahh thankyou makes sense why they cracked down on its use than.

  • Speed glue is illegal in ittf tournaments just to let you guys know..

  • You should not touch the surface of the rubber with your fingers. The natural oils in your fingertips can create deadspots on your rubber.

  • wtf

  • Ive seen massive dead spots in rubbers.

  • yeah i place my index finger on the backside of my paddle for stability....my joola tango extreme has a dead spot that is seriously big....40 bucks worth of rubber gone down the drain

  • lol he use butterfly brand racket i use boli prince

  • I have a question. Do you have to use speed glue is it okay if you use regular glue like elmer's glue? Also when purchasing a rubber for example the sriver does it come with 1 red and black rubber for each side or do I have to buy the black and red rubber separately?

  • You have to buy the rubbers seperately. The sriver is a great rubber, I built my first racket with it, and I still regard it as a wonderful racket. It is easy to remove also, unlike my Chinese rubbers. You need to use a glue called Butterfly Free chack before you speed glue. What you do is, you glue both the racket and the rubbers with the free chack, let it dry (takes over an hour and a half), then you would speed glue. This is called prime-ing. Have fun man, comment back if you need more help

  • i did use elmers once....umm it will work...not for tourney play....but once you want to take it off you can peel the glue off easly....you can get some glues for like ten bucks so do the proper thing and do it right man....i dont want you to mess up ur rubbers

  • It is true that you discover the law of gravity when the fingers to type USA

  • now that they banned speed glue what should we use to stick the rubber onto the blade?

  • Rubber cement.

When did they ban it? Lol, I was just introduced to it like 2 weeks ago and then I found out a day later.

  • Lol, I would never risk using rubber cement. Stiga, Tibhar, Butterfly, and other tt manufacturers make glues for relatively cheap. I accidently bought some stiga Aqua energy, turns out its nothing more than a faster version of regular tt glue. This sucks because I was led to believe that it was speed glue, unfortunately, it is not.

  • i hate speed glue go def players lol

    and you attacker too

oh and for all def players out there im useing ..

black gold blade 999elite def 1.5 and 999 elite sv 2.0 it is a good combo for all around def play

    =) nice vid

  • Defenders speed glue

  • doesnt matter if its still banned still use it in non official matches coz its just plain fun

  • For ikustir0915 this video is over year old

  • im sorry, im not sure i fully understand.

for the second method you put the glue on, then put it on the bat over night. in the morning, take the rubber off, let it dry. re-glue it and put it on ?

    thanks

  • bet you this guy still glues up lololol

  • butterfly primorac ;D

    same as mine ;D

  • Why the red side need to wait 5 to 10 minutes to dry while the black one not necessary? Besides, what is the difference between sticking the rubber dry and wet?

  • Now that speed glue is banned, you don't need to worry about any of this. I was showing 2 different techniques, gluing up dry and gluing up wet. If you glue up dry you can play with your bat immediately. If you glue up wet, you need to leave your bat for several hours to let the glue dry or else the ball won't come off the bat with any control.

  • I think you put your rubbers backwards. The blade's front is the one where it has the most writing. Either way it dosen't matter.

BTW Why would you post if it is already banned?

  • You can almost hear it in his voice that it is banned. :)

  • looooooooooooool

  • that glue is not allowed for over a year now

  • Thanks for the video, I'm thinking about buying new rubbers and I was a bit confused about the gluing, now I feel like I know what to do. I'll go check your website, that's for sure

  • m8 its banned;)

  • Isnt speed glue banned?

  • yes, the judge will smell your paddle in a tournament for volatile compounds. if you used the glue a month ago, it won't have a smell. don't fuss

  • they use some enez machine to detect these stuff. but after a month, there is no point of speed glue lol it owuld be just like normal glue

  • u only need to glue it if the rubber is comeing of not every day.

can someone tell me y u glue it every time.

  • Players used to use "Speed Glue". The speed glue would cause the Table Tennis rubbers to be faster but the glue effect would only last a few hours. So you needed to re-glue the rubbers every time you would play to get the effect.

However now all speed glues are banned so you do only need to glue your rubber onto your bat when you change your rubbers.

  • hey mate do you know if donic's f1-3s are gluable rubbers or not?

  • could you please tell me if there is a difference between black and red rubber, because my black rubber is a little more tacky. of course the rubbers are the same and have the same thickness. BTW i have sriver fx on both sides,....nice video, i'll try the second one someday :D

  • For the same type of rubber there should be no difference between the black and red. The reason you need one black and one red rubber is because people used to use one normal rubber and one anti-spin rubber that were both the same colour making it very difficult for the opponent to tell what spin if any would be on the ball.

  • can u please make a video on how 2 take the rubbers off a bat safely......... thank u

  • Thanks for the suggestion, we will add it to our list of videos to make.

  • Is the gluing technique the same for non-speed glues?

  • With the non speed glues you normally apply the glue to the rubber and the blade, let the glue dry and then stick the rubber on the bat. However some of the newer non speed glues are very strong and for those you only put glue on the rubber. Make sure you read the instructions that come with the glue you buy.

If you have any other questions then try using the Ask the Coach section of our website. We love to talk about Table Tennis at PingSkills!

  • Thank you very much for the response. How many layers do you recommend I apply of Fair Chack to prime the rubbers? And would this work just as well as using regular glue to prime them? I play like 2-3 a week, should i reglue like every 2 weeks? Btw I just got the butterfly chinese real blade, with DHS hurricane 3 and Yasaka Mark V 30. What do you think of the combo? I'm an offensive penholder who occasionally chops and I use the reverse back hand.

  • With Butterfly Fair Chack you need to glue up every time you play. If you only glue up every two weeks you will not get any real benefit from the glue after the first 4-5 hours. I would really consider trying the new high tension rubbers which give you a similar result without the need for speed glue. And then you are following the rules and can't be accused of cheating.

  • Since I wont be playing in official tournaments I will use Fair chack on my new paddle, would you recommend I "prime" the new rubbers with regular non-speed glue 1st? or 2-3 layers of Fair Chack would be just as good? I don't want to have my rubbers not sticking well to the blade. Thanks in advance. -Sarkis

  • If you are using speed glue, then you do need to apply a few layers before you play. You can use either regular glue or Fair chack for this. If you are not playing in official tournaments then I would not bother gluing up everytime you play. If you try some of the new high tension rubbers, you can get a pretty good effect without worrying about gluing up.

  • pen hold paddle user!!!

  • was it a primorac off-??

  • It certainly was! However now that speed glue has been banned, you should try out the new range of high tension rubbers.

I'm actually pretty excited about the ban on speed glue as I wrote in a recent blog entry on my website. It simply saves so much time and worry about getting the best glue each time you play.

  • hello, i bought fair chack by error and i dont want to keep regluing everytime I play so CAN I USE THE FAIR CHACK AND NEVER REMOVE THE RUBBER? do you think it'll stick well? answer me please thanks a lot!

  • Fair chack has now been banned by the ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) so it would be best to buy a new water based glue like FIT chack. However with Fair Chack, you can just glue your rubbers once and it will stick.

  • i waqnt to now what kind of glue did u use?

  • I was using Butterfly Fair Chack. But now the ITTF has banned all speed glues. If you want to get a similar effect you need to try the new breed of "High Tension" or "Tensor" rubbers.

    Cheers,

    Jeff.

  • I have the same blade! The Butterfly Primorac Off- is the best!

  • Ive got a Bryce and method 2 work very well.. but i dont understand why you have to glue up all the time :P Plese refer

  • Actually the VOC-free Glue is not made for speed gluing. I have a newsletter here which say´s that the VOC-free Glue has no effect to the rubber. By the way: thank you for answering.

Ps: Excuse my bad English, im a German :-D

  • So you want to Glue up with the VOC-free glue?

Ps: What´s the thikness of your Sriver´s?

  • I'll give teh VOC-free glue a try, I'm not really sure how good it is. I use Sriver 2.1mm

  • Hi Pingskills (Jeff)

What rubber are you gona use now, since speed gluing isn´t "legal" anymore?

  • Hi theAnimalKid,

I'm not really sure what I'm going to do when the ban on speed glue comes into effect. I'll have to see how well the water based glues work before I decide.

  • So you want to Glue up with the VOC-free glue?

Ps: What´s the thikness of your Sriver´s?

  • I think I would recommend the rubber with speed glue power like andro impulse speed or tibbahr nimbus sound

  • I usually put glue on the rubber and stick it to a clean glass and compress it. That result is magnificent .

  • what about using a clamp does that make a difference?

  • I don't think it makes a big difference. If I am gluing up dry then I don't see the need for using a clamp. When I glue up wet I used to put it into a clamp but these days I don't have one and I don't think it hurts at all.

  • is it okay 2 use regular glues(e.g. elmer's) on a paddle

  • Hi XtraToe,

I would only recommend using a proper Table Tennis glue, especially if you are going to be changing your rubber. I've not heard of elmer's but I would be very careful with anything that wasn't a Table Tennis glue.

  • wow, sexy speed gluing video...

ok, such a slow butterfly blade in unplayable without illegal help...

die lösungsmittel machen sowieso krank im kopf.

  • what happens if you don't let it dry and just put it on right away?

  • You'll get a really bad contact each time you hit the ball. The result will be inconsistent, sometimes the ball grips and sometimes it falls off the rubber. You definitely don't want this to happen.

  • thanks for your reply!

and what about basic (non-speed) glues? on the rare few occasions that i glue my rubbers i do it before it gets dry and it seems to work fine. do you think i should wait for them to get dry after all?

  • The glue will eventually dry and then it is OK. So if you are not using speed glue and put it on wet, then in a few hours it will be fine and you won't have a problem. However I would still recommend that you let the glue dry.

  • great video!

  • Such a shame you guys aren't more popular. Once again, great video guys :)
