continued...And I have not lost faith and months have turned into years and no worship, praise, or proclamation has changed anything. Why? Because it's not God's timing. Joseph didn't determine when he got out of prison God did. Daniel didn't determine when he got out of the lions den, God did. Job didn't decide when his trouble ended God did. This may not be the case every time but it is some of the time. And Grahams word will only fuel the discouragement of those in that time.
I am so sorry for the difficulties you have experienced. God has been working to this day in your life for a purpose you will hopefully soon see. In all the examples you mentioned, you're right, nothing changed--but from an external, physical perspective, which had 2 b the case b/c that's the only way for something spiritual to change in each of those people. These years 4 you have not been for nothing; in fact, they've been imperative to lay a foundation 4 all that is to come.
My point was that nothing they did would change their circumstance. No moving forward no proclaiming. It was God's timing and nothing else. I don't doubt the prophecy's that have been spoken and confirmed into my own life. However sometimes there is nothing you can do or are supposed to do but wait and Graham completely dismisses that. What he's saying is not wrong but it is only ONE way God works NOT thee way.
This is one of the most reckless, careless, damaging words I've ever heard from any one. Much less Graham Cooke, a man who's ministry had previously touched my life deeply. I am so disappointed and saddened by this. The timing of God is everything we do not always have a green light. I've done exactly what Graham is saying and it doesn't work. If it's not God's time no proclaiming and no prophecy will help. I have had everything taken my inheritance literally stolen health, job, car everything..
You're right that Graham's words may be the most reckless, careless, and damaging words--but only if they are misapplied. If you note the precondition he states, one should apply this particular word IF A PROPHETIC WORD HAS ALREADY BEEN ESTABLISHED. And his reference to a green light was not necessarily in terms of a change in circumstances, but in a change in attitude in manifesting the Spirit's leading into actions, which itself must be done in wisdom.
The jest of what I am hearing is that a sure word from the Lord is where it starts but it always requires that the Holy Spirit be ever present to work that out in the believer. Yes His timing, and yes he is building faith in the believer during this process. We can't forget that He is doing a work in us, conforming us to His image. So my point is it pleases God very much when we believe him over circumstances even to the end without seeing the fulfillment, see Hebrews 11.
"Just GO!" ...that's what Jesus said in Mark 16
