  • When you've seen Another country, it's quite funny to compare the version of this story by Rupert Everett (sassy, but delicate) and the less ... distinguished one by Tom Hollander. They both did a wonderful job picturing Birgess.

  • @TheKlervie Burgess, of course.

  • best scene is the attempted assisination of Franco

  • this was an OK effort but it cut off too short at the end, prior to their lives in the USSR...indeed a lot fo the 4th episode is kinda wasted.

  • Beautiful. Hollander's part is full of very fine lines, like the BBC moment in the 2nd episode... "The BBC means everything to me." "What does it stand for?" "British Broadcasting Corporation."

Must be a thrill for an actor...

  • this story repeated of course in Another Country ( play and film) by the character Guy Bennett (Rupert Everrett)

  • I don't think we really needed to know that...

  • as an english woman of stout heart and decent bosom. LOL

  • This is one of my favourite films EVER.The bbc have done such a fine job, the script is amazing, the clothes and scenery is perfect, and the casting and acting is some of the best ive ever seen. everyone seems perfect in their role dont they? what a scene though, flops before rigamortis etc. outrageous burgess.

  • They had some great jokes and one-liners. "...and broke his arm. Well, he was dead anyway so he didn't really mind..."
