I was under the impression that they don't honeymoon for a year. The start of the game can easily be presumed to be October due to how early Halloween comes. If we presume each in-game chapter to be a month, it works out since Christmas is in Chapter 3; this means it's only March by the end of the game which is still considered "next year".
