I purchased Reason 6 and Recycle 2.2. I definitely look forward to integration of Recycle into Reason at some point. Its a major workflow issue for me. But im a Propellerhead and will wait it out. I hope you guys come through on this... Reason 6.5?
In order to maintain .rex as a standard for sliced loops, they need to put the tool for creation into as many hands as possible so that .rex becomes synonymous with 'sliced loops'. $250 does NOT enable that vision. It prohibits it, actually.
I know it's been said before, but worth repeating: Too Expensive. I support integration into Reason, however a standalone version should always be available for those who wish to use .rex files but don't want to buy into the Reason paradigm.

@bigcollardgreens Yeah, same here. But this process is most annoying when you're sampling audio using Reason, and then have to export the audio, import it into ReCycle, chop the slices up, export AGAIN, and import AGAIN into Reason. That logic is from the School of Redundancy School! Waste of time
@JBarber3d your rite, i dont even use it that much any due to that fact, i would rather it be built in than to have to use a separate program every time. But it is awesome i used soundforge,recycle n reason all together BUT NEEDS TO BE COMBINED!

I think it's worth stating here that I have been using Reason for years now for all my instrumentation, but have switched to Maschine so that I can slice samples and perform sequences all in the same box. All about the workflow. It used to be "import sample into wav editor, slice sample in ReCycle, perform sequence in Reason". Now it's "import, slice, perform in Maschine, and MAAYYBE I'll play with Reason if I feel like it". Not good for Propellerhead!
but i do like reason for sample browsing and the new octorex looks pretty impressive.. but what was the price again for reason 5 or 6 you say? same as i paid for ableton???? same as i paid for logic? More than i paid for PT9????

@extremrams broh, 249€ are much, much more than 249$.... but anyway, thats the price for MAX not for recycle... recycle goes for about 199 in may places and others, who realized they sit on a whole pile of if for about a decade have put it down to 120, thats what i got if for.. still about 119 to much... sorry to say.
unfortunately, I spent hard earned money on this program, just to realize its pretty much obsolete.. exports are inexistent, no mp3 convertion, you cannot change a file and then export it as a whole.. and integration in other daws of rex is so limited it is just a newsense... in ableton you cannot even strech it... I regret having spend that money. I wish I could get it back.
@RETRoSPEKTaOfficial It exports to REX which is the whole point. There are numerous freeware MP3 convertors if you're interested in chopping up some lossy files too. :)
REX intergration in other DAWs is not limited as far as I've tried? They match tempo and you can sequence the MIDI-slices too. There's no timestretch of REX-files in that way, that's not what it's about. There is timestretch in Live so you could just import the .wav then - right? ;)
@anosoumusictube not if you have some rex files that you would like to implement... (try time streching rex in live.. good luck) haven't thought about this, have you? also, i work on mac, there are no quality converters for mac that I know of,

I assumed that was semi-standard at least. In any case, if you can open a REX file in ReCycle — just click Export and select wave file and you can stretch it in Ableton! Problem solved. :)
On Mac OS X there are plenty of great convertors. I use Snapper which is perfect for me but paid for and a bit expensive. Some free: Audacity, Max, iTunes etc.
@anosoumusictube you cannot load rex into itunes mattias. audacity is so slow, my dead grandma would walk quicker from hamburg to barcelona before audacity opens... :) MAX is anything but free (at about 250€ for a student license... that is extreme luxury as a mp3 converter... and about the export, in the 2.2 version, i cannot even select part of the file anymore and just export this separately.. hell knows what happened with the program...
@RETRoSPEKTaOfficial We should make it clear here, are you talking about converting mp3s to wavs or REX files to wavs? ReCycle natively exports to .wav if you load a REX file into it so no problem there.
The Max I was referring to is not MAX from Cycling '74 but the open source convertor from sbooth. Both Max and iTunes convert MP3s to wavs easily if you want to load them in ReCycle and ReCycle itself can export REX loops as wavs.
It's totally ok if it's not for you, just want facts right. :)

As i said, the vid is great. but the program is of no real use if you are not on reason. unfortunately, i realized to late..(btw, i am the only person of all people i ever met that use recycle who was dumb enough to buy it.. it should come free with your reason. you don't do enough on it to justify the price or the sale at all
The old version supports hardware samplers. This is just an advert for Reason.
