I wud of died if I had to hold my breath for 15 mins, Im impressed xD

    I can't go over 30 seconds lol

  • No Way , 15 MINS ??

  • @PaulTheElite

A man from Switzerland has smashed the world record for holding his breath underwater. Skip related content

    Freediver breaks holding breath record

Peter Colat didn't breathe for 19 minutes and 21 seconds

  • aisku fake...

  • it is obvious they are using a medically induced method. This is a fake.

  • The record of unaided breath holding is about 9 minutes and it is not beated.

This one is OF COURSE medically aided, they probably used erythropoetin, erytrocyte mass infusions, pain medication, sedative and lowering blood pressure and heartbeat medications, and pure oxygen breathing before the trick.

With this preparation it is possible to go beyond that record (what Blaine did), without it- totally impossible and probably fatal.

Brother lithuanians- don't believe everything you see on TV.

  • thats a guinnes record, so how can it be fake? huh? morrons..

  • Fuck america, lithuania ownz! :)

  • @KaspisYeah Jeez that's exactly the kind of thing you hate americans for, having pride in your country is one thing, but you need to stop when you start hating others and thinking you're better. I'm sure lithuania is great, but it's not so bad over here either. We're all people, discard our differences and try to get along.

  • I like Americans but its very good to know that people in our country (small, very small) can do things that other people who lives in large countries ( like USA ) just can't. It feels that we are powerful at something too.

  • Oh ok, that's cool. Although there are records america and other countries all over the world hold. But yeah that's good that you love your country, and it doesn't matter how small it is, we can all accomplish good things and I wish more people in the world would put effort into doing so.

  • Omfg. You fucking douchebags, you can't believe that little country, beat you. Very sad

  • @bartas226 Of course we can I think it's awesome. Come on, what's with the hate and negativity? it's not like we think we're better than everyone else. I really don't care who did it or where they're from it's just awesome that they managed this even if it was medically induced.

  • Its true if what i see it. If u think america always be in 1 place u wrong.

  • this is fake because they would be famous in the world lol but actually they aren't david blaine cant do that and some fucking diarchy <---- could

  • They're not cheating.

  • FAKE Video

  • how do they do that do they have HUGE lungs cuz i cant hardly hold my breath 1min

    fuckin amazeing

  • did she die?

  • no in fact she does even more dangerous stuff now

  • zn as ten ir buvau :D

  • dis is true because i went der

  • Well thats not a world record anymore the new world record i heard is 17 min. and 15 secs.

  • well thast not a wolrd record to anymore the new world record i heard is 18min.. + few secs.

  • fuck you u jealous piece of shit american fucking cant believe that this happened in an unknow country fuck yourself

  • it was a trick

im lithuanian and our journalists and press figured out it was a trick

  • So how exactly did they cheat? I dont see an oxygen tank protruding from their ass. Im curious.

  • Comment removed

  • Next step, deep space.

  • you below..

    go fuck yourself

  • thats impressive, but i know the techniques for it... you have to relax, i bet my ass noone in the world can do pushups while doing that for 15 minutes!

  • You're so dumb, i bet you couldnt do pushups for 15 minutes in the first place.

  • now could you? ... i guess not.

i did never say that i can do that while doing pushups for 15 minutes, i said that it would be kinda impossible!

  • its a lot of mental training too

  • there was no trick. they was trained almoust 1 year

  • How the fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is real.I live in lithuanian and we see in Tv this. And i sitting and looking .but not in TV.I see real.

  • Diana almost died after this ( well at least it's waht I heared ) :(

  • Diarchy, my country heroes. It was so havy , so cruel to wath them in that time.

  • This trick was real, it was writen in to the record book!!! ;DDD

  • they used pure oxygen before doing that.

  • you all loser they all are training and have many breath

  • from my country =P

  • wtf??

  • criss angel is better anyway..!!!!!!

  • This was writen in to the record book, so it should be real

  • its real ,i from lithuania and im wach this clip on real ;D

  • f you guys i am lithuanian and i say we are cool you are all jelous of us and thats that!!!

  • It's not fake lol

  • youre fake, you douche

  • 16 minuets??????? Thats impossible. Sorry, this was staged.

  • ehm, no it's not ... the earlier record was set by a freediver ? (deep-sea diver??) however you spell it and was around 15 minutes .. it's not impossible.. you just need to be trained to keep a really low bloodpressure.

  • Ok, so your saying that you can be trained to controll a non voluntary muscle????? No, Have you ever seen the guiness book of records????? In there its about 8 or 9 min. Im sure if this was real, guiness would be ALL OVER THESE GUYS.

  • haha it's absolutely possible to control your pulse. if you don't believe me ask the guys doing free-diving (?)

  • when the "book of guiness records" committee wanted to put their record in the book, Arvydas instantly said "no", because the truth of that trick sooner or later would be revealed.

  • see, your right. That is completley fake.

  • what was the trick

  • Any way if you past 5min you fucking die

but you can extend that by practising on your lung and control you heart beat, this people must have spend their whole life exercising their breathing and train the lung to accomulate as much oxygen as possible it's possible but it take alot of discipline

  • They probably took straight oxygen before the test. The record for static apnea is like 9 minutes and some change, but with straight oxygen, this is the record. I'm American by the way. Stop saying fuck us cuz that's lame as hell and annoying as hell

  • Lol, yes, they straight oxygen. Without oxigen that man can be under water like

    9 minutes..

  • Fuck your fucking americans !!!!!!! it's real!!!!!! it's real fuck u all!

  • madshebs what do mean it is imposoble?? they just broke the new world record for a couple for a woman and a new world record for men !

  • impossible ... nice trick

  • are u dum or what it was live on national television! and there were people watching aswell and +there was a record comfermation team

  • Impossible. The official world record for static apnea is 10 min 12 sec. An amazing feat. Doing six minutes more than that is just ridiculus.

  • New world record.... I saw it on tv... cool....

  • Stupids, they had used oxygen before it...if they hadn't had used it, then they could be under water approximately 5-6min...but it of course is record using oxygen

  • There's a reason they're called illusionists..

  • ariston72 the temperature of the water was the same as body temperature so 37-37.5 degrees

  • this is real!

  • Omg, you saying not truth?? I was there when they were making record!!! Noobs it's true, they were there 15:57!!!

  • bull shit after 3 minuts u start losing braincells so i dont think that he was under there for that long

  • No it's true, it's not good for you, but it's true

  • I'm curious what the temperature of the water was...I've heard that in very cold water the brain can go longer without oxygen, but I suppose if it was that cold, they'd be suffering from hypothermia...

  • You start losing braincells 4 mins AFTER blackout. If you're concious - there is no brain damage for however long you hold the breath.

  • I hope to see them in an official contest, if this is for real... no metal framework to lay on... just face down in a pool, surrounded by witnesses.

If not done that way, I am skeptical. If the vdeoo feed was faked, they could breathe through the metal frame with tubes. I know, I could rig something up with no bubbles coming out.

  • they were practicing for 3 mounths i think every day. its harder to doit in a pool cuz you would move around

  • Well, like people who disappear or walk through plate glass windows without breaking the glass, they ARE illusionists, so unless they do it in an official setting, I think that they are only doing it for three or four minutes, and the rest, they are breathing.

In a pool, judges stand next to them in one meter of water. They can wear wetsuits, so they can float at the surface, without moving.

If it WERE real, I want to learn it for diving with dolphins.

  • why does she has diving goggles when she has her eyes closed? (most of the time)

  • Because water comes through your eyes and nose, and ears if you cant' hold it.

  • man that´s sick! I thought the world record was like 9 minutes or so?

  • thats very unhealthy - you make me sick

  • THE BEST!!

  • way to go on the brain damage

  • I can do like 3 minutes... jesus

  • I'm Lithuanian and i saw it live. It was never skipped to commercials or anything, but you never know they are illusionists :)

  • iam for lithuanian is cool cuntry.. :D

  • !!! this is sparta? this is lithuania !!!

  • lol

  • :D that was AMAZING!

  • he can hold his breath for 15 mins more than me SHIT!

  • omg i can only hold my breath for 1:11

  • i can stay underwater for a week my nans a tadpole

  • hahaha

  • shitttt i can just about make 2 mins!!

  • MAN hes good!

  • ReubenGazer they are fighting with their body if you cant feel it ... i am from lithuania too so im proud of em

  • r they TRYING to kill themselves?????THAT'S A LONG TIME!!!the woman fainted, and the man looks like he's already DEAD!!!

  • record was 13:42 min. It was not official, but all world knew and recognised this achievement for about 50 years. Now we have a new record and I'm very proud of it.

  • This is fake because of the reason that the real world record is around 8 minutes, which means this is FAKE, get it. The real world record champion is an austrian freediver who set this record in 2006. Don´t beleave everything you find on the internet, and this movie is one of those things.

  • So dumb... You just disproved yourself! Don't you know in what year we live? It's 2007. Your mentioned record was broken in June 16, 2007. So I think you need to wake up...

  • If you have ever heard of illusionalist they are earning money buy doing things that are not real, have you never seen the illusionist? There they displays what a illusionist is, its FAKE get it.

  • Eh.. Think what you want, but it's not fake... You are confused with their magic theater, where they really earn money by doing "that things". But here is really true record attempt, with no magic. Of course, if you don't consider that yoga is something magical.

  • I dont, and this shit is FAKE. Honestly, think about it, go to any divingsite in the world, look for the world record, SEE that record, and its like 9 minutes. Do you honestly think that we in a day would be able to hold our breath for like 20 minutes, its impossible, think! You´ve been brainwashed!

  • I think you are talking about record WITHOUT use of hyperventilation. But they USED hyperventilation, so this record is in hyperventilation category and automatically almost 16 minutes is the longest time being underwater in the world... As we say, there is nothing impossible :)

  • No, the world keeper are using hyperventilation to reach 9 minutes, everything else is imposible. When you have linked a page from a WORLD WIDE organisation like PADI that sais that this is the record, then I will belive you.

  • Do you think that world wide news sites lied the information about this record? If you didn't know, there is no official breath holding record, because world record agency can't register such records due to their terms. So this means that you can't get any true information from any diving organisation. Because the information isn't official. But record is still record, world will not forget it.

    P.S. Earlier

  • what do you mean hyperventilation?

  • From Wikipedia:

Hyperventilation (or overbreathing) is the state of breathing faster and/or deeper than necessary, thereby reducing the carbon dioxide concentration of the blood below normal.

They breathed pure oxygen for 40 seconds to reduce carbon dioxide concentration.

  • oh, and how come in the middle of the breath holding they were moving their mouth and stuff? like at....1:13?

  • i thought the record was 9 minutes something

idk how they can do it: i can barely get 2 minutes and a half :(

  • labukas tomai gal tjuri skype ir gali atsiusti sita klipa?

  • !!!guys, iam from lithuanian and i watchid life and thei arent fake!my cousin was at the audience and he can provi it!!!

  • fake...

  • WhY? Argue your thought before posting nonsense!

  • breathing pure oxygen ??? let's get serious

  • did u notice he that it skipped alot they could have gone up anytime

  • Dude, this is only TV announce... I watched it live and I can prove that there was no 'gone up'

  • No, I do not beleive as it would have been quite the sports headline. If you weren't so overly-confident in your lack of knowledge about breath-holding and were not so satisfied in your ignorance, you would take a minute to look up what the freediving community (and please don't give me a two word I.Q of 5 response of

  • "You dumb fuck") you would realise this was done breathing pure oxygen, however among enthusiasts this is not considered an actual record. You can easily find the breatholding record with an 80 20 nitrogen to oxygen ratio very quickly.

So, what I said was true, hopefully you will listen and not bother arguing about what you really don't

  • know very much about. And don't give me your shtick about "Oh, and you think you know what you're talking about?" Because, I do, and you made it clear you do not with the way you blindly argue, (not in the way a scholar, in pursuit of proving a point would), with no regard to the facts.

  • go 2 google and search "underwater world record siblings" its on fox news and channel4 u belieive now??-- the reason its cut is because they cant put a 16 minute video on youtube

  • actually they CAN...i've seen 20+minute video game vids on youtube

  • it is real... it was on the news thats how i found out about it in the first place...

  • Absolute BS, The record is 8:58 with just air, this is not recognized by the freediving community, nice try, cutting the video.

  • It was broken you dumbfuck godamn

  • Why is it not recognised?

  • Tai va, kad neiregistravo..

  • jeigu sito rekordo neiregistravo, tai kodel to dauno (David Blaine) irgistravo i knyga juk jo rekordas irgi pavojingas ? o_O

O neregistruos del to, kad rekordu knygos taisykles neleidzia registruoti tokiu rekordu. Bet ne tame esme, rekordas isliks rekordu.

  • Man tai cia jokio kvailumo ner...Isskyrus del Lavrinowiciaus ;P Jis bysky NE I TEMA buwo ;DD
