Took off in its own direction has something popular, but the odacity of them to call these the "real" ghostbusters when in fact you can watch where the ghostbuster idea came from by watching the original Flimmation cartoons.

Yeah Good Cartoon for its time, but the cartoon was based on the Movie and the Movie was based (sorta) on a totally different Ghostbuster Cartoon. The story behind that was they wanted to make a movie based on the Ghostbuster franchise from Flimmation cartoons but the people behind Warner Bros decided to take the ghostbuster name and create there own vision of it, funny how movies based on other things NEVER stay true to the original idea however this was one case where the new idea

Most of the TV shows in 80's and early 90's were animated or pre-produced in places like Japan, Taiwan or Korea and the character designs (while looking "american") where actually "anime and manga influenced". Just take a look at the Street Fighter, Ghostbusters, Robocop, Jem and many other cartoons from that time

These cartoons can't be seen as scary to kids either as (a) I watched them religiously as a boy and I wasnt scared, and (b) it teaches you to stand up and FACE your fears and show them "I ain't afraid of YOU"

What happened? Well technology happened. Better digital technology for higher quality video. Personally I like the old cartoon's quality better, giving it a more classic feel. Also, there was a pacman cartoon as well. But I guess kids cartoons are becoming more adult.

i used to watch this cartoon as a kid, my friends and I would play it, we used to use our water pump back pack water gun for the proton packs or slime throwers from the second movie and an old roller skate, the kind you put on over your shoe with a brick strapped ono it for the ghost trap. The three of us each had out talent, I made up the coolest heroes, one of us made up the most outrageous villains, and one would make up the greates storylines, three young creative geniues playing together
