  • can you post 'Please Be There' from the Morning After album?????

  • This is one of the ALL time great albums .. Which is saying something ..

  • @hogiesanKenobi I agree, I rank it highest among all Geils releases. Followed by Blow Your Face Out and Bloodshot.

  • Love this song!

  • @carollann2107 You and me both.

  • The BAD BOYS from BOSTON !!

  • I saw J. Geils at one of their first REAL big shows in 1970 i was 15, they opened for "Johnny Winter And" in Boston and since they only had the one LP out at that time they played the entire thing. They opened with "Sno Cone" then Peter Wolf came out slippin n sliding and sang up a storm. This is when they were still "Greasers" by the time the second LP came out { hurried in my opinon"} they were changing.. It's all GOOD !

  • BTW.. This band loved playing in Germany where the name of the band means "horny"!!

  • Freakin' awesome!! The crap we have for radio here in the Twin Cities hasn't played this in 35 years!!

  • @tootired76 Same here in Central KY

  • @tootired76 Same here in Ohio although occasionally the Cleveland classic rock station might surprise the listeners and play something different. You say you hail from the Twin Cities? KQ-92 doesn't play it? I thought that station was the mother of all classic rock stations. Don't they have a classic rock request show?

  • @bucky468

Maybe they do. I can't stand to hear Joe Cocker, Van Morrison and that ilk anymore. I have been listening mostly to a hard rock station from Sauk Rapids, Mn named WHMH. They'll play Ted Nugent & Aerosmith, etc.occasionally.

  • saw this concert at cobo hall detroit.they sounded just like the album.love this funk.the harp enterd my ears loud gave me goose bumps.they blew my face out.

  • awesome really glad i found it man....bin looking for this tune for ever...thank you karl ...:)

  • @Rockwaymtnmon You are quite welcome. It's very gratifying to me when I help someone reconnect with the music they love.

  • nice. only album of theirs that just says geils on it. can ya upload surrender from this? "my lovin don't come easy, my lovin don't come cheap" haha. thanks! :)

  • @templedown Well I can try. I uploaded Somebody awhile back and WMG double blocked me. Plus I got a nastygram from Youtube. But I'll be glad to try.

  • @karlmoles65 ty :)

  • Like previous posters thanks for posting this video - always enjoy explaining that the JGB was a hell of a different band before the "Freezeframe/Centerfold/Love Stinks" days, I really hate to use the term sell-out in their case because at least those video songs made them the stars they always deserved to be - I still love the old stuff so much, can we just chalk it up to the fact they musta got lost?! Still have my red vinyl copy of "Bloodshot".......

  • @timmratt me too, I have all J Geils albums (Except You're Gettin Even While I'm Gettin Odd) on vinyl. The red vinyl Bloodshot is probably my fave as far as aesthetics go.

  • Thanks for posting this great J. Geils Band tune! Loved the photo montage of their album covers and group shots, too. Good job.

  • @JDSly1 You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it.

  • Love it, thanks for posting. If I had to pick a favorite J Giles song this would be it.

  • @slyme1711 It's well up into my top 5, and you're welcome.

  • karl:

Great song! Also love "Wreckage". Thanks for posting them both.

Could you put some other tracks from this album up???

  • @batrob4 Yeah, if WEA doesn't muzzle me. They did when I started posting tracks from Blow Your Face Out. "Blocked Worldwide" Greedy ****flaps.

  • can not say thank you enough your now my new hero loved this band not a clue how many time's i've seen them ... but would go again

  • @oneeyedoldfatman My pleasure.

  • nice

  • bin lookin for these n this for long time thanks... karl .to listen to right on man. havent heard this in long time .is good.

  • @Rockwaymtnmon You're very welcome.

  • The best Geils song by far !!

  • @kerstenzmom Well it's my third favorite after Wreckage and Chimes, but who am I to argue?

  • @kerstenzmom

    Definitely...so under rated!

  • 1978 '69' Impala Brand new Pioneer Super Tuner wt. Jenson Tri-ax .speakers on the banks of the Conn. River J.Geils Rocks

  • @TheJackbour Dad had a 69 Impala. My car was a 79 Camaro. And I've heard this on the banks of the Ohio river many times.

  • they were killer! thanks for the great sound!

  • wonder if Geils was ever filmed live tour- would love

  • @Mr99pivo You and me both, and not that I've ever seen.

  • @justpassingthru1100 The birds all started screamin, and dove into the foam.

    And same for me.

  • It was the 25 that inspired it! you had to be there

  • thanx for posting. such a great jam!!!!

  • @MRlovestospooge1 You're very welcome

  • YES!!! "There ain't no life on Monkey Island, no one cares and no one knows." Always felt the writer was talking about himself = Monkey Island.

  • @ScottAln05 Could be right on that one.

  • Does anybody have any inkling just what (if anything in particular) this song is about? It could be allegorical & not literal-but nonetheless a reference to something in particular.

  • @JStormWaters I've always wondered about that too.

  • Such a poignantly beautiful song w/ such an eerie creepy theme...a true klassik!!

  • @JStormWaters Very well put. That's as good, and as succinct an opinion on this song as I've heard.

  • Always makes me think of island lake in Michigan.

  • @phactreerat Well that makes sense.

  • Been wanting to hear this again for years!

  • @Niblipix Glad to be of service!
