lol I worked at WalMart for a couple years, and back then we had to wear a vest, ... I got so tired of being asked "do you work here?" I started telling people, "No, no.. I actually bought this vest from the Goodwill - just thought it was awesome!" I got wrote up once for saying that, lol.. Ah, the joys of retail.

When i worked at circuit city our managers would make us feel so uncomfortable, like we were going to steal things from the store as soon as they turned around, and they would blame us for not working hard enough all the time. there were several times i wanted to shout why don't you go do something useful!

The never ending list of stupid questions, rude comments, and gestures customers would come up with drove me insane. I'm so glad I'm out of there..

That is exactly how i feel. I like the do you work here, but another favorite is when they point to something and are like wow, have you seen this. Ive been here for a year. Did you think i missed something that you found on your first hour. And people are so dumb that last week, we had a giant neon sign on our door that said push and at one point, there was a line of people who couldnt figure out how to open the door... Why? About your manager and his sense of self worth, not much you can do unfortunately. If it's really bad you can try a harassment report with his manager, but normally those on top hire the similarly-minded. Maybe a new job, you shouldn't have to deal with that.
