The much better music and the addition of Cammy was the only differences I could think of. Is Akuma mode part of the regular Alpha? Plus, Alpha 2 Gold was only on the Street Fighter Collection Disc. So I'm guessing it was re-released as gold for that reason
The music in Gold version is better than in normal... and of course... SFA2 is the more epic of the Alpha´s... really better than it´s sucessor, Alpha 3...
I think custom combos were toned down in Gold (From what I read of the SFA Anthology guide, they were kinda overpowered in normal SFA2) And it's funny how in Guy's stage background there's cody who would appear in Alpha 3...
