  • tama bubinga's?? anyone know what drums he plays

  • This is so beutifull to me lol

  • he only uses one bass drum all the time but like previous comments it gives a more fuller complete look...when i can afford a new kit i will go for using both bass drums, but il see how it feels

  • I love that backtrack he is playing to.

  • @xReinhartx Especially in the bridge. Gives me chills.

  • @AirmetalDrummer You just totally read my mind lol. Daniel is a big influence in my playing, such an underrated drummer. Love his style.

  • He has 2 bass drums but only uses 1. weird

  • Comment removed

  • @ACDCman1727 both beaters are hitting one

  • @ibanezmetalman It's not so weird...another bass can be used to hold more toms without using it...a lot of drummers use a double pedal and have a second tom only to have a more impressive drumkit.

  • @kroak666 but the thing is he uses a rack to hold the toms

  • @kroak666 and he only uses 2 toms

  • @ibanezmetalman He uses 2 tom...but each tom is attached to a different bass, don't you see?

  • @kroak666 no there on his rack dude

  • @ibanezmetalman yeah, for this song he only uses one.

  • right. the left bd isjust for the looks, he told it there. Did you know he plays without shoes?

  • Alright calm down now, I didn't realize he had a rack.

  • Dumb Shit! He used a rack for the toms! The 2nd bass drum is just for show! Joey jordison does the same thing!

  • The other bass drum isn't for show, he uses the left side of the right bass drum for one tom, and the right side to the left bass drum for another tom, this way his toms and snare are right next to each other, its actually really smart

  • He uses it for show. He's got a drum-rack, it would do that job easier and better than the two bass-drum thing you explained.

  • @TheQuietPlace95 You are completely wrong. You'd think with a youtube name like that that you would be more informed. Unfortunately you are not.

  • @AirmetalDrummer Lol chill out i didnt know. I am still a die hard in flames fan

  • @TheQuietPlace95

But he could have used a tom-stand. much easier.

  • the foot cam just sucks

  • y hay quien dice que no es buen bateria, vamos no me jodas, es cojonudo.

  • Yeah man, it is shown on their dvd, the oter bas is just for show

  • That other bassdrum is just fake

  • He has got a double bass, but uses doublepedals, or i mean that he uses two bass drums

  • for looks, he said that on used and abused dvd

  • second bassdrum is show. it looks bigger with two bassdrums. but its easier to use a double-pedal. so you have to tune only one bassdrum

  • Yes! a lot of drummers do that. 2 bass means double problems. you tune one and put a double pedal then you have te same sound with the double bass aesthetics, because duble bass is ONLY aesthetics

  • then you use triggers ;]

  • yeah. double bass players use to have triggers. its hard to get te exactly same tune in both bass.

  • yep :]

  • uhmm.

he's using triggers y'know? only tuning he has to do is to tune the batter way up to get lots of bouncy. double bass and double pedals is just like the drum setup, there's always a difference between drummers.

  • of course. if you use triggers you dont have any problem.

  • @shumped He isn't using triggers in this video though, can't you see the microphones?

  • @shumped He isn't using triggers in this video though, can't you see the microphones?

  • @Chefen92 i wasn't commenting that he's using triggers on this video, but on the albums and live he's using triggers

  • @shumped maybe cus he already proved he is epic and doesnt wanna get rofl tired at a live show

  • @Rasmusmeda what?

  • @shumped he does'nt use triggers?

  • love the bass pattern its sick

  • SHINY!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing you are crazy =)) this is perfect!!!!!!

  • Woah i love the tom-part .. just great ..

I think, they are microphoned very bad.. thats why they sound like that..

  • The guitar parts that you hear in the chorus just gives me chills.

  • amazing

  • His overall set up is amazing.

  • This is really good.

I wish Jaska played along with an actual COB song.

  • @kpExperiment he did, jaska's first video is of in your face

  • I never noticed in flames had this much of keyboard in their songs :)

pretty amazing drumming as well. Very clean

  • they don't that much actually, guitars are stripped down to keyboard so the drum comes out a lot better, it's edited for the festival

  • Do anyone know what pedals he uses?

    thanks

  • Iron Cobra Power Glide ;)

  • Iron cobra double, powerglide, the other bass drum is just for looks:)

  • yeah, its also easier for his drumtech to mount the toms that way. and the tuning ofc.

  • whether it's about drums, guitars, bass or vocals, In Flames owns!

    IN FLAMES WE TRUST

    holland

  • he's amazing because of the writing he does for drums. It's not always about speed or technicality.

  • @MaquasT dude he got epic speed and technic too

  • He is very good, not the best but definitely waaaay over average. If you don't know he had another band in 1995, Sacrilege, sounds very similiar to early In Flames and At The Gates, In the 2 albums he did with Sacrilege, It was AWESOME drumming. And also, listen to Brush the dust away with in flames ;)

  • He's gonna release a new album Sacrilege (now called Sacrilege GBG) were he screams and is on the drums.

    Dont know the name though

But he's still gonna play with In Flames, Sacrilege is just a sideproject.

  • I know. The name of the album is gonna be

A Matter Of Dark, but he hasn't pursued any vocals yet.. He doesn't have time ATM.

  • Ok, im kinda new to drumming, just recently discovered that im interested in it. So i love in flames and just wanted to know, how good is daniel? one of the best drummers u know off or just basic guy?

  • he is one of the best =)

if your are intrested, watch some videos of daniel erlandsson from arch enemy, in my opinion he is the best !

    IN FLAMES WE TRUST !!!!

    france

  • id say pretty average for a metal drummer

  • well, how good is he in what department? as an overall drummer he's good. i wouldn't see him playing that extreme brutal...black doom metal thing. As far as metal is concerne though, yeah he's good. what i find to be his greatest asset is his ability to record any inflames song they write, put in his unique tastes and flair, but not taking anything OUT of the song, like...overdoing it, like we can hear in other bands. skills come with practise and he's got very good skills!

  • 1st of all welcome 2 drumming

i'd say that daniel has quite a nice technique and is groovier than most metal drummers out there. I'd say that he is way over average for sure

  • Dude welcome to sit behind the cymbals :D.

And he is over avarage as the other says.

My favourit is George Kollias, check him out

  • It contains his backing tracks that are fed to the rest of the band as well. He is the one who decides when and what songs are played through the monitors. it's what you hear besides the drums. Keyboards, backing guitars etc. But during the concerts, it's a bit more discreet.

  • I never understood how these bands could even listen to these backing tracks and be able to hear them over the insanely loud crowd.

  • I know that at least In Flames, and some other high-budget bands are wearing headphones connected to a wireless reciever on their belts. These special in-ear-phones are usually molded for a perfect fit in the ear. They are as sound isolating as normal protective earplugs at times, and can go for about 500 bucks if you want the best. They're usually skin colored so you don't see them unless you take a closer look. Hope that covers what you need to know:)

  • or maybe, you know, he's memorized the song, considering he wrote it and has to have played it live so many times by now, its not that hard, and when you're that good im sure you can easily keep the tempo. you dont need backing tracks when ur that good

  • I get what you're talking about, and i have no doubt he could, but at a cost of perfection. So no. I'm into the business myself and i've also asked them. The tracks aid both the drummer and the rest of the band. I'm not arguing that he doesn't know his shit, but without those tracks, the concerts would be much less spectacular!

  • true, i get what ur saying, makes perfect sense :p. you've talked to in flames?? thats awesome :P id love to meet them

  • Haha yeah got some close friends who are real good friends with them.. I've partied with one of them and met the others a couple times hehe:)

  • thats awesome. i live way out in newfoundland, so sadly i dont think i will get to meet them, which sucks cause id like to get the official tabs for some songs and the meaning to some lyrics sometime, and to just get to know them. id love to be able to play the drums like daniel

  • Anders gives a brief description of all the new songs in a Swedish interview. If you want, I'll translate those descriptions for you and PM them. I have many of their songs 'tabbed' in my head but i never write tabs, but get in touch and I'll see what I can do.

  • that'd be awesome, if you dont mind, could you? thanks man.

  • the backing tracks are supported by a clicktrack in daniels headphones, it's not that unusual, because there are segments in the songs without backtracks, but he still needs to stay in perfect tempo

  • hes always plays clicktrack, i think he didnt on a show, cant remenber which , but u cant tell the differance, since he has been training with a metronome for so long it just becomes a habbit of playing in time. just adding some details.

  • what's awesome about daniel is that he has a really passionate drumming style that fits the music perfectly. He only does short bursts of insanity rather than continuous non stop displays of wizardry (like for example blake richardson from Between The Buried and Me, who to be fair is phenominal) but when he does it sounds so tasteful. Just a great player.

  • i`m with you dude, yea i have met him before and saw them live 3 or 4 times there coming back to sometime but i like his style.

  • @Jimlad91 Agree with you totally, Daniel and taste really goes hand in hand!

  • I wish i had THIS track. not drums or anything, just the electronics, the sampling and the entire vox. i think i could even have a metal-hater relax listening to it.

  • I love this drummer:)

  • YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!

  • Daniel Svensson i`ve met before, hes a great drummer i know cuz i`m a drummer but hes lacks a few things but i won't realy mention those because he is great he is my sencond favorite drummer along side of Jon Rice(job for a cowboy)

  • nodoby can drum perfectly;)

  • I think he is amazing in In Flames. I haven't seen anything extraordinary from him technically (only saw him live once), but you can tell he matches In Flame's style perfectly for whatever direction they go.

Jon Rice has the ability to show more technique because of Job For a Cowboy's style but I don't feel like he brings the same amount that Svensson brings to In Flames. Just my opinion, not saying anything bad about Job for a cowboy.

  • go daniel go!!!

    you ruleee!!!

  • danielllll u are doin very welll

  • Very Good Drummer <3

  • in flames we trust<3

    love this song! <3

  • My favorite drummer and sure one of the best

  • I love this version of Delight and Angers, most of all the drums are amazing. Never noticed the synths, but now I know what makes this song so great.

  • youre right

  • Daniel Svensson is according to me, the best drummer in the world together with Nicko McBrain...

  • Sounds great hes a really good drummer:)

  • He plays with so much energy and enthusiasm. Daniel rocks. \m/

  • Sounds kind a weird without no bass and only one git. i guess?

  • it doesnt sound weird just differentXD

  • that's what I thought, but I listened to the album again and I realized that it's actually the same, you just can hear the electronic effects that they throw in clearer then the album that's all.
