Just say no to volunteers. You get what you pay for with Ricky Rescues. Vollies undermine the entire profession for all of us that do it professionally.
@Zachass4795 No, I have been working for over 10 years now as a paid professional. I have been trying to work to put fire and especially EMS on stronger footings as solid career services. Every time I take on a debate with a city/county/state official, an argument for using volunteer firefighters/EMTs comes up. These people are ignorant and do not realize that vollies more often than not provide substandard services, usually not due to any fault of their own.
@Zachass4795 It is simple logic. I do this for a living. You do this as a hobby. Who do you think is going to be better at it? The future of EMS and Fire is here, ask yourself why you're fighting it and if it will benefit your community. Would you want to have a surgeon who does his job for a living or one who just comes in every once in a while to help out?
@DissensionFilms Well, if that's your attitude, I'm going to say the volunteer is probably gonna be better. Surgeons used to be barbers and butches who did surgery on the side, and they helped it grow to become the science it is today. Volunteer Firefighting is the origins of a paid department. Show some respect. A volunteer can be just as capable as a paid firefighter. (I know because the Volunteers in the city next to mine are way better at fire and ems than our full time firemedics)
@DissensionFilms and @Zachass4795 I myself have served as both a paid and vol. firefighter and to say either is better IGNORANT. several vol. companies make over 3000 RUNS A YR....... and to say they are not as well versed as a paid dept. that barely makes 1000 runs a yr is STUPID. i've watched and been part of scenes under the command of vol. depts. that did a better job than those under the command of a paid dept. paid or vol. is of no difference both deserve your respect and your apologies
@DissensionFilms and Zachass4795 you either never had true passion or have lost it throughout your career. just because you are paid does not mean your any better than a volunteer. heck you may have only gotten your job due to political reasons etc. most volunteers have much more heart than you could dream of and would save your ass when you go down of the fire scene.
@mesowarning wow, way to be a brother... Fire dont discriminate, if a man has the balls to gear up then they have the balls to face the fire... and for you to low ball someone just means youre the jelous fuck that either couldnt make it as a firefighter or cant get on at a paid dept... its real inmature when you gotta talk down to your own brothers.... grow up...
@Zachass4795 Don't get me wrong, I think it is very honorable for you to want to help you fellow man. EMTs and Firefighters provide an incredibly essential service to the community and it is time that we showed our community. We are decades behind several countries in prehospital healthcare and firefighting because a lot of our communities' governments do not view Fire and EMS as essential services.
@aweird1 Spoken like a true union member... I call b.s. on this comment. Most communities cannot afford a full time career staff. What then? Back to the days of 1 person engine and ladder companies? Then they'd really be "cellar savers" Face it- we serve a purpose just as important as yours- we just do it for free, because it's the right thing to do, and because we want to. Most volunteer depts that are near cities have several members who are also career firefighters
@aweird1 You do realize right, that Paid Firefighters all started out as volunteers right? You do realize that some of the best Fire and EMS training comes from rural communities that have to come up with innovative solutions to solve problems that we who are lucky enough to work in the city never really deal with? They make a commitment above and beyond what any paid firefighter has to make, and they do it out of love for the job.
@firefighterfrank93 Not sure on the first one sadly, the second song is move by thousand foot krutch, third song I'm pretty sure is 3 doors down loser, fourth song is breath by breaking benjamin.
What a great yet terrifying clip with spectacular vehicles.Respect from Australia.
