  • i fell over to the side like that the first time too, and my teacher said she' never seen anyone fall that way...ha! you're inspiring as always mr grimmly!

  • You've basically got it now. At this point its a matter of refining it, but the initial psychological barrier of launching yourself upside down is broken.

  • : ) Thanks Boodie, now I know going all the way to the floor is OK I can start working on tidying up the handstand, before I was too worried about flipping all the way over. The work on coming back up is coming along, but going back and forth, what three times, Yikes and then as you say keeping control and a pause at the top of a handstand, that could take a while, a long while.

  • Awww poor Grim!!! Just wait ti the coming back from the floor part! I'm STILL putting that off. One note: even in continuous tick tocks you should achieve a straight as you can get it handstand before curling to the bend. And that's the goal coming back too. I never got it, though I could reliably do the back flip for a bit. But the pause in these exits takes longer, aka Viparita Dandasana. The flip comes first and the ability to pause in the middle, and straighten back up, later.
