I would rather be hated for who I truly am, Instead of being liked for being someone I'm not. Love me or hate me the choice is yours, but you will never change me!!! :)
@cherri7 Part 1: You left this comment a year ago so it's a little late, however, i wanted to respond to it anyway. You said: Cute kids. I hope Obama eliminates the one drop rule.
@cherri7 Part 2: My reply to that is : I wish he got rid of the " One drop rule " as well but it doesn't look like that's going to happen, actually I think by him identifying as Black and not Biracial and also how he identified as black on the 2010 census.. then when someone asked him " why ? " he said " Cause that's what I am, that's how people see me "
@cherri7 Part 3: I think he only reinforces the " One drop rule " I think he set the Biracial/multiracial movement back another 50 years. He doesn't even speak about being biracial, the furthest that he will go is to refer to himself as a " Mutt " ( a mixed breed Dog ) I dont think he thinks to much of the label Biracial or Biracial identity for that matter
@BiracialGirl1977 I defintely agree with you, I'm mixed-race and I think he did set the mixed-race movement back about 20-50 years, by him not claiming to be mixed-race, Obama is weird one minute he says he "black" the next he says oh I'm a "mutt", so in a way he sort of is acknowledging that he's mixed-race but in a derogatory way which is pathetic. I think he has some self-hatred going on. I wonder how his mother who's white feels about him considering himself as black ? does she feel disowned
