  • just a quick question the sliding in cages dont appear to have lids I know you know what you are doing but just wondering how they stay iin the plastic cages

  • The clearence between the top of the tub and the shelf above is very small. The rack is well designed.

  • what type of snake was the first one

  • The very rare Ethiopian Mountain Adder (Bitis parviocula)

  • how much do they cost

  • I was selling them at $3000 each.

  • do you have the inland taipan? i seen you had a taipan (dont know if it was inland) in your older video and would be cool if you could do another video on the snake!

  • I'll pick one up tomorrow..

  • whats the ringed cobra like? was looking and didnt find much on em

  • Those are very cool little cobras, very laid back not overtly defensive.

  • cool cool, they rear fanged like the false water or they front fanged?

  • They are Elapids

  • ah cool, thanks for your help al

  • are water cobras generally timid?

  • Well..I can't answer that question because I have not worked will all of the species yet.

  • that cobra really is a nasty piece of work by the looks of it!

  • Do you have a boomslang? or any rear fanged ?

I asked about your mangrove awhile back. Hopefully you'll do a good showing of it soon.

They aren't good first hots are they? (not that any is)

  • yes, look though my videos

  • Been a long time since I saw your stuff, but as always, cool stuff.

Now, for an odd question: I know that some snakes include fish in their diets (at least the water-based ones). Do you have any snakes that enjoy fish in your collection?

  • I have some wild caught water cobra's that enjoy fish...have not tried anyone else.

  • Understood... I don't think the others would care about fish so much as they like rats and chicks.

  • Al, what do you use to put holes into your plastic containers? thanks in advance!

  • It's called a "step bit" for my drill.

  • hi al, when the vid open, u said it time to give the guy roughage, do hopper mice offer more roughage than rat pupps sorry for the stupid question

  • There is nothing left (almost)of Rat/mouse pinks after they are distilled down by the snake. Hoppers at least have hair that is not digested.

  • do you have pretty much a male and a female of all your snakes?

  • No...some species I am not breeding

  • ok kl

  • Doctors seem to love making mistakes. Both of my grandparents passed away from doctor mistakes.

  • Let's not paint with a "broad brush". No excuses for traditional treatment of conditions or diseases. Snakebite treatment is an area of "specialty medicine" and not all doctors are trained very well if at all. In the case I sited, there was a medical toxicologist involved who should have known how to proceed, however egos were involved as well as other issues. They failed to consult the experts.

  • hay do you have a bothrops asper

  • Not currently

  • Cool vid!

Which is the snake at 2:11?

    Is it a Krait?

  • Yes, Blue Krait (Bungarus caeruleus)

  • Cool

  • No offense taken...didn't even have my fangs out.

  • That "wiggly" thing is it's tail, which it uses for attracting prey. It's called Caudal luring, a natural behavior. It's not your concern how many snakes I keep and how they get taken care of. My animals get good care and feed.

  • that wasnt a toad it was a cobra.....xD

  • love the vid man u are a man full of knowledge

and i love the codra <3

  • Man awsome video love all your info and knowledge on venomous snakes keep it up

  • Wow! A whole new reason to watch ViperKeeper on YouTube! I was thumbing through my Lamar and Campbell set a month or two ago, and noticed the B. alternatus. My sudden interest in that species reminds me of when I first got into herps... It's a fun feeling to be so enthralled and mystified with a species of snake. I've been meaning to ask you if you had worked with them. Is that one in the video your first? Awesome snake btw... I'd really like to see more vids of that alternatus in the future.

  • Very beautiful cobra <3

  • Awsome man I have a new wagler viper.

  • hey wats the 1st snake and the one 3:12

  • How many snakes do you have.

  • no bushmaster yet? :(

  • As I recall from "Cobras in His Garden", Haast didn't need antivenin or a respirator to survive the blue krait bite, though he certainly needed them for his first king cobra bite. The bungarotoxins did affect his eye muscles, requiring him to move his head more to see things.

  • Haast did go on a respirator for the krait. It was the only bite in his career that nearly killed him. (I grew up in Miami, I remember it pretty well)

  • I havnt seen those racks before

  • Cool video.

  • The caudal luring is the coolest thing ever! I freaked a little when I saw the krait checking out your hand when it was so close. Phew! Silly, lazy death adder with one piece of bark on the head for camo. Beautiful vid as always - thank you.

  • Might have just been the angle of the shot, but yeah, it sure looked like it almost got a taste of Al's hand didn't it?

  • Just the angle...besides Kraits are inoffensive during the day.

  • I, too, got a bit nervous at 3:49.

  • the very first snake was awsome! did u make that rack urself?

  • Thanks for another fascinating look at your collection.

  • Great stuff!

  • Great video and super nice animals, especially the Urutu. Lightning fast, indeed. Thanks for sharing.

  • Excellent Video and beautiful snakes!

  • have you had problems with ingestion of that repti bark at all Al?

  • Not at all....

  • The snake in the box was kind of freaky..What kind of snake was that again??? Is there anyway you could do more videos on the water cobra? The one thats up wont show!! Good Job!!

  • A Jamisons Mamba (Dendroaspis jamisoni)

  • Another great vid Al, much respect to you, in taking the time to bring us these videos, the Naja is spectacular

  • The death adders are pretty cool. I didn't realize how quick they strike.

PS Are all Egyptian Cobras that friendly?

  • Yes and they can grow up to 10 ft

  • super awesome! thanks for sharing!

  • Always look forward to your Videos, you are truly amazing! Thank You...

  • That cobra was definitely in a bad mood. The Water Cobras were very interesting to watch and the Death Adder.

  • Great vid Al :)
