  • Interesting piece! A good tool to take out into the public.

  • Actually do to recent circumstances I have been thinking about recalibrating it into an A-Hole Meter.

  • Haha, that sounds like I good idea. I really need an A-Hole Meter.

  • @AllAmericanFiveRadio

    Pure gold Rick, pure gold.

  • Thanks JamesToTheDee

I taught software and got really tired of hearing "Are we having fun yet". So I thought why not measure it. But it had to be a Digital Fun Meter, not analog.

  • @AllAmericanFiveRadio You should consider an analog fun meter...

  • @JamesToTheDee

Well, that do look better on videos.

  • Hey, I think all of your videos are fun. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

  • THANKS!!

  • Rick,

That cements it...we're heading to Las Vegas. On the first shot after changing the batteries you hit a hundred on the DFM. Same as slot machine triple bars. We'll be rich!

    Regards,

    John

  • Thanks John,

    Las Vegas.Now there's an idea!!!!

    Regards

    Rick

  • WOW!! Good thing those were alkalines leaking. Zinc Carbons would've been a disaster.

  • Yep, things could have grown in there. After seeing the original batteries, it now surprises me that it was still working.

  • Rick, I can't imagine the readout being nothing but 100's in your classes!! Wish I could have been part of them....

    Merry Christmas!

  • Lol Thanks! I tried to keep it interesting. However the Directors of the software departments were not pleased with me when I started showing the students how to defeat the passwords. The students loved it!!

  • Merry Christmas!

  • Cool, i wish i knew more about solid state electronics.

  • Thanks. I completed at least 14 HeathKit courses and I just checked their website. They have even more courses now. I use my HeathKit books as references because they start at the beginning of the subject. Check them out!

  • The other chip was a decade counter w/7-segment code option.

  • I think Radio Shack sold the display and the chip together. Best I can remember. I built the DFM twenty years ago.

  • Hi Rick, glad to see you are having fun... Merry Christmas Bro.... G

  • Hey George,

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
