HELP!!!??!, I have Half Life 2:Deatmatch, but when I try to play mods for it it doesnt work. Steam tells me that i need a game with the source engine. And when I installed this mod it doesn't come up on the ''My Games'' list.

What's going on?!?!

I asked steam, they said.

To play mods, you need the Source SDK. And for the source sdk to be avaliable to you, you need a purchased and activated copy of a source game, such as half life 2 or counter strike source. But they said half life 2 : deathmatch doesnt count, because it was given on the ati/nvidia offer.

p.s; looked under tools i have Source SDK Base ,and Source SDK avalible for download.

You need Half Life 2, not the deathmatch version. If you go on the steam store for Zombie Master, it says that Half Life 2 and Portal won't work.

If you need a source game, does day of defeat source also count. I mean, will it work when i only have day of defeat?

Day of Defeat Source WILL work. As long as you have a source engine game that's not Half Life 2: Deathmatch or Portal: First Slice then you're fine

It doesn't matter what you download. As long as you have some sort of source engine based game you can play source mods. just don't torrent any games that uses the source engine or else all the games that you bought will stop working.

This is a mod for the source engine on PC. You need a source game (Half-Life 2, CS:S, etc.) to play.
