  • No one hit the high C in the trumpet section

  • alright. Tuba is obviously the best instrument.

  • my sixth grade is playing this

  • i played this in 9th grade... we never took it to concert because the rest of the saxaphones couldn't play the really fast part but i could play it perfectly after just a few tries and i was the 3rd seat sax and there was only 3 of us. that means i was supposed to be the worst sax player but i can play insanely fast stuff without a problem. the same thing hapened with crazy train by ozzy but that wasn't really that fast. wow i got off subject, damn you ADHD.

  • I played this in 7th grade, I play trumpet. We played it at a showcase and in a competition, it was honestly the best song we played EVER. I'm a freshman now. I love this song.

You guys did a great job.

  • im playing this in my hs band 2011 i am a girl and i play trombone .. ! yeah

  • were playing it in band im a flute player and im in 8th grade

  • This was probably the funnest song I've ever played in band. I remember we percussionists were scrambling around beating on things the whole time. Lol

  • awesome ! we're playing this in our winter concert!

  • I love playing this song. Playing the bass clarinet is the best part of this song. i love the flute/bass clar. solo i do in this song. this song is also a challenge! most of this song for my part is in the high notes, although bass clarinets should usually have the low notes... LOVE THIS SONG. <3333

  • i played Tempest and Into The Storm in Seventh...Funn :) go clarinet

  • the eight graders played this yesterday night...they totally wiped the floor with us little 7th graders. Ours was cool, but this was beast. GO BRASS!

  • this is like the maelstrom

  • I am playing this in 7th grade

  • at our school, the piccilo and clarinet duet is a brother and sister duet

  • I'm playing this song in the Advanced band at Folsom Middle School! We were voted the best band in the nation... it surprised me because there are much better bands than us. :P

  • I'm playing this song with a band outside of school, it's a mix of students of grades from 7-11 and I love the bass clarinet solo with the flute. :) We play it slightly slower at the beginning since it sounds a little muddled when it's too fast. Amazing job though on the performance. I found that the percussion came on a bit too hard though, I could barely hear the melody. :/

  • Valley middle school advanced band played this for the 2008 knotts berry farms music for the arts festival and got superior in almost all catigories

  • i have played this before, don't remember when, but i remember the bass clarinet part. it was rockin

  • My 8th grade band is playing this! Except our trumpets suck :O and our bass clarinets are so quiet :( I play tenor sax! Yeah tenor sax FTW

  • Playing this in a district competition tomorrow, I actually like this song (I'm a flute player), I never noticed what this song sounded like when you're listening to it and not playing. That bass clarinet needed to belt out that solo, could hardly hear it! But overall it was a really good performance! :D

  • yeah i play first trumpet in junior high even though theres another 8th grade trumpet btw trumpets best!

  • To much deviation in the speed, should be constant in the first section

  • XD im playin this now!

  • yeaaaay im excited we r playing this song and we sound so bad compared to this!!! GO YLMS!!!

  • I think bassoon is the best instrument out theree :D ahaa

  • if you play the alto sax you would now how boring those eight nothes are g g g g g g g gg g gg g gg ggg g g

  • THE BASS CLARINET NEEDED TO BE LOUDER MY SOLO WAS BELTING ps i play the bass clar.

  • @ares784512 i have that to... except we have no piccolo. so im on my own and i cannot hit some of the notes.

  • Haha I play this in 7th Grade band!

  • hey guys, i know you all want the solo for this piece but i dont want it when we play. i dont like solos - at all. any suggestions to boost my confindence? btw you guys played awesome :)

  • @12jamesc i feel the same way, im in 6th grade surrounded by 7th and 8th graders and i play better than most of them the thing is to keep practicing and prove yourself better and boost your confidence!! :D

  • I play the bass clarinet and I honestly think trumpet is the best instrument out there.

Bass is annoying but my director won't let me switch.

  • Bassclarinet solo was fantastic.

Im playing this for my middle school and I have the solo too :)

    Good job guys,

  • im so excited i play b flat clarinet and bass clarinet but im playing bass for this piece cant wait for the solo!!!!

  • Lol shit

  • Dude bassclarinet sounds like shut trumpet is awesome

  • @Fiesel21 there both awesome lets leave it at that haha :0)

  • bass clarinet sucks trumpet rules

  • @Fiesel21 bass clarinet rules!

    Trumpet sucks!

  • are the lightning spirit, tempest and into the storm all like the same?

  • they really need to make the main melody louder than the band

  • ohhhh i played this in 7th grade. I play tenor. the best instrument

  • @casscat1545 True dat!!

  • @casscat1545 I Play Bass Clarinet

  • @10kdgirl I might switch to bass clarinet next year. It pwns all other instruments haaha

  • @casscat1545 srry but percussion is the best not mallet or timpani like the real ones like TOMS!!!!!!!!

  • @casscat1545 i play tenor to i agree its like the best instrument there is

  • @casscat1545 im in seventh grade and i play this and i play tenor too

  • @casscat1545 i wish i was in your band

  • @stevenhamlin1000 Why do you wanna be in my band?

  • @casscat1545 you played this in seventh grade when i was in 7th i played the tempest

  • @stevenhamlin1000 buddiess!

  • @casscat1545 i played it in 8th on the alto ^_^

  • @casscat1545 i played it in 8th on the alto ^_^

  • @casscat1545 obviously

  • @casscat1545I play tenor and we are playing it this year =)

  • we played this but it sounded much better

  • my middle school band did this!!!!

  • This is amazing, and anyone who says it isn't is extremely stupid.

    I hear the horns. <333

  • How was this bad?

  • @ashgiri94 It wasn't bad at all

  • That was excellent but one question WERE ARE THE TROMBONES ! I'm one and couldn't see or hear them

  • @warfighter12100 probably in the middle of the back row. blocked by the conductor and clarinets. and i could hear them at 2:21

  • Im playing this at my concert for school.....

  • @CookieganstaMonster lol my band played this in 7th grade & got it in a week also & we could play it better too

  • @Aluminummagnet Good for you.

  • ...Talk about bad pitch and no balance....

  • i wanna play this song bad...

  • I just got this song last week and our band can already play it better than this...

  • wow brass gives no dynamic effedt. even the softer part at measure 74 is loud and a trumpet came in early at 2:21

  • @candi10000 effect... not effedt. thats not a word.

  • Dude this really sucked! No offense to the people in this band, but the tune is bad, so are the clarinet high notes along with the flute and clarinet trills. And tempo was a big problem and the bass drum that hit a shot at the wrong time should have counted, and the trumpet who came in early

  • Dude this really sucked! No offense to the people in this band, but the tune is bad, so are the clarinet high notes along with the flute and clarinet trills. And tempo was a big problem and the bass drum that hit a shot at the wrong time should have counted

  • @Drum23Major I agree the tuning on the clarinets was horrible and the flute's pitch was vomit

  • this is sooooooo out of tune it isn't even funny anymore :o

  • Lol, I played this song in middle school! XD

  • this is funny because the same year my highschool did this peace and we are PHS =D!

  • We got this arranged into our marching show last year. Jensen Beach High. Went home with about 15 awards and straight superiors at Crown Jewel.

  • GO PCHS ! i played this for intermediate, as you can see in the video response :D lol i didnt wanna take band this year,

  • we almost played this song for my last 8th grade concert but we did a parade and we couldnt learn it in a month...a little to hard to learn in a month haha but great job guys! it sounds amazing

  • YUS it is beautiful! GO BELLS I totally played that part in my band :D

  • I love this song we are doing part of it in this years marching band music it is fun

  • i played this in jr high and we were the highest rating so what does that say about them?

  • u know what is sad i played this in middle school they must really suck ass

  • @thebestestcarrot me too lol

  • @thebestestcarrot wow that's 3

  • OMG I CAN'T GET OVER HOW GOOD THIS IS! lol I luv playing it in band...it's my fav song

  • I luv playing this song in band

  • lolz the honors band students (me) at band camp are playing this....it's fun (:

  • were playin this song for grduation its a blast im playin timpani

  • not bad, i remember playing this piece a few years back. props to the woodwinds and low brass. trumpets could have been better in tune, however

  • @classicsguy007 this was only our freshman band, so our director didn't really put a lot of emphasis on tuning. if our symphonic wind ensemble played it, we'd blow it away.

  • Nice! My school orchestra are playing this in a few days, i'm the bass clarinet :D

  • @ImWearinSocks go bass clarinets ^^

  • @SonataEternal i love bass clarinet.

  • @sonichackman1 good you should try it. My band teacher told me too. Now i adore it :)

  • @SonataEternal i have tried it. lol I've been playing it for 2 years. I adore it so much. recently i had to turn it in because i'm switching schools, and the other school doesn't have any, and a Bb just isn't the same.

  • Nice Playing, were playing this in Blaine, i wish our trumpets were strong willed like u guys. Keep on Playing AWESOMELY

  • i remember playing this in 7th grade :)

    i can't believe I still remeber this..

    :D

  • WOAH. bass drum player got too happy at 1:38 lol

  • the trumpets were a little to loud but other than that amazing i plyed this song in 8th grade loved it

  • I played this song on the thirth of May 2010. I loved it. I play 2nd clarinet

  • My junior high band is playing this song tomorrow at our spring concert (;

  • I just played this song for our concert a few hours ago! lol, I play Bari sax so I love the part where I play with the clarinets! :) Anyways, good song!

  • Strong Clarinet section, the flutes could bring it out a little bit more at some points in the piece..the trumpets are playing well and in tune, the altos do an awesome job on their part. Overall quite good, could use some work on dynamics though..especially the trumpets. Overall did quite well.

  • my band is playing this song now and i love. i play the tambene and this dude in this band is killing it:)

  • fkn love the clarinet parts :] i wish i could play this for band, but apparently we suck lol

  • BASS CLARINETS FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • we played this at the district band concert. In middle school..... Only bass clarinet :D and I am proud of it!

  • i have the picclo solo in this song in my high school band =D i LOVE this song

  • my favorite part is the "eye of the storm"...it is so pretty...i love it because i play the F Horn and its is so beautiful!!

  • the beginning sounds very very fast. i guess that's because we're playing it slower though. xD

i play the bassoon. :D the only bassoon in the band might i add. LOL.

i don't know, at some parts it seemed really RUSHED, other parts slow, etc.

  • oww clarinets r off beat at the begining and tumpets drown out the rest of the band at some points...dont worry my band director says that 2 us all the time!! and the last whole note need 2 be 8 FLIPPEN beats!!! sorry im a music nerd and we r playen this song in a HUGE competition 2morrow!! and the gong sould louder when it all slows down!!

  • 2:21-2:24 trumpets didnt come in together (:

    it was good tho

  • @BethhBrutal lol i noticed that too

  • this song sounds so cool im a saxaphone player and i have a video of my school band playing "passages" on my page, you should check it out, i had the solo for it btw

  • Sounds pretty good. BASS CLARIS NEED TO PLAY 10x LOUDER!!!

  • @sexybassclarinetist JK The low brass always plays loudest then high brass come then sax and clari then flute dont play unless its a pro band and perc stays low and out of low brass way for the best sound

  • dudde, im a junior high 8th grade student and were playing this and our sounds just as good and we have 180+ students.,... LOW BRASS!!

  • Yeah. We have such a small band, and we don't have a bass clarinet, so my band director is making me play that solo, and I play baritone.

This sounds way better than ours tho =)

  • @XxDeathPixelsxX use to we have 2 tronbone 4 sax 4 perussion and 2 flutes ...

  • @XxDeathPixelsxX hey im the only bass clarinet in my whole SCHOOL

  • @SonataEternal me too :D

  • I'm in 8th grade and our band is playing this piece for our spring concert.(I am in percussion) Sounds pretty awesome.

  • Dude, same here. I'm percussion too :)

  • Too bad we don't have a bass clarinet. We played this piece for a band contest today. We are a high school band, so I think we could have done better. Oh well. I don't think the intro is written to sound very good.

  • They sound out of tune and the tempo's off, the brass is rushing the woodwinds and apparently they weren't keeping up well enough.

  • were in middle school and i play trumpet but i dont think our band teacher would let us play this, plus it has to many high notes, i can only go up to high A

  • We're playing this song tonight at our band festival. Go alto saxes!!! :)

  • brhs?

  • WOOO! Alto Sax. players! :)

  • does anyone know where I can get this music? I forgot mine at school and I need to practice it :) I play flute and I absoultely love playing this. Espsecially the high f trills. Our teacher keeps making this joke that we're too loud for once because she usually can't hear us.

  • Lol just got this song today, im in 7th grade playin it, REALY hard but fun.

  • this piece so much harder for full orchestra. I play violin and it's so difficult, and sounds way better full rather than just band.

  • Good Job

  • i still remember this song by heart, i played it in 8th grade i am now a sophomore in high school. i would have liked to hear the alto saxophones in this though

  • I know! I am an alto and I am playing this song! They are mostly in the back round with the French Horns.

  • alto saxophones have a overwhelming factor on a band if there are a lot of them. If so their volume is cut in half to equal out the bands sound. see what i mean?

  • My band has 12 Alto's haha, But my teacher works it all out. Balance and blend is important!

  • I played this song a few years ago in middle school. it's a fun song to play. good job.

  • haha high school im in middle school and were playing this song

  • percussion at the beginning arent in unison

  • Excellent, enjoyed it! My only criticism is of the slow part. Too much trumpet sound here. Phrasing could also be worked on.

  • @clarinetmeister i agree with the slowness, but still where are the alto saxophones?!

  • Perhaps most of their part is doubled on other instruments?

  • where r the alto saxophone parts?!

  • does anybody else think that the theme at 0:44 is very similar to Fountain of Dreams? yes, the song from the Kirby games...

  • YES LOL wow its kinda funny..

  • Not completely together but I like it. My band is so much smaller than this so some of it like the brass part in the middle sounds so much better. Btw I played this on trombone last year

  • omg, we are playing this for festival in michigan dundee im euphonium player, and the euphoniums always get the random parts :P

  • It was pretty good, needs some practice here and there but I can't say my eighth grade band is any better.

  • i absolutely lovee lovee lovee this songg!

i played it when i was in 6th gradee.

    (:

  • im sorry for saying this, but it needs more work

  • hmm...impressive.

  • hahaha im in 7th adv. band and we can play this good

  • @lemonfilms214 you have advanced band??? we dont, we're playing this in normal 8th band....it sounds horrible 50% of our band is slackers who are just staying for the cedar point trip at the end of the year... =/

  • @Mccheesychocolate my bad is slakers too. all of the trumpet secion. the worst part is we have a retard in our adv band! he destroys everything. he doesnt even go to our school. his mom forced him to be in it!

  • Like someone who is Mentally retarded or as in a idiot???

  • mentaly unforutnatly

  • im in 7th adv. and we play this good too!

  • Bragging isn't cool. It makes you look like an asshole.

Not all schools have as much time to practice. Or maybe the director isn't the best. I'm a senior in High School and we're playing this piece. Every band is different and as are all of their players. Also, some people don't have the money or time to pay for private lessons. Being the best isn't the most important thing. Just don't be so inconsiderate. People don't post videos so other people can tell them that they can do better than them.

  • I just would like to interject...it's not all about how much time u practice but wut u accomplish when you do practice...I've never had private lessons and niether did most of my high school band and we were an excellent group...it's all about how much the entire group focuses on being great musicians. It's not the director because the director isn't the one who's playin...that's why the band must listen to each other and learn proper playing styles, intonation, etc...so think before you speak!

  • I did think before I spoke. I agree that it is the commitment of the players but not everyone in the band is always as committed as you are, such as in my band. I love music, and I love to play, but the others in the band don't seem to care.

And it CAN be the director's fault too. If he's not picky about the style of the music, and doesn't let us know that we're doing something wrong, then we won't get better. Our director tends to talk a lot, also, so we get less practice than we should.

  • we did that for our marching show

  • im playing that

  • My orchestra is playing this. it's a fantastic piece.

I always hate it when the wee pretty bit stops :(

    :L

  • my school is playing this song to in march.we just got the song yesterday

  • were playing this at highlands

  • ima flute player were workin on this song, were gana play it at contest XD yeahhh

  • that girl at 2:06 is amazing.

  • @PutMeOnAPlane i have that solo... so basically i keep a piccolo on my lap all concert until those four measures =/

  • I remember the Hamilton Township Ranger Concert Band doing that song in 2007. It was my freshman year and I was first chair first trumpet. Good job from your friends at HTHS.

  • We're doing this song for the 2010 intermediate honour band. (:

  • Yay, I'm in it too. ;3

  • I find the rhythms to be great in this song...the tuba part is very slow...almost pointless for 50 measures in my opinion....although it spices up towards the end with "pick a note"

  • we r playing this song for contest!!! im a clarinet player also!!!
