You talk about magnets atracting each other. What does that have to do with gay marriage? People were not "designed" to fly and still we build flying machines that take us between continents in just a few hours. I could make that argument in favour of gay marriage except the 2 things have nothing to do with each other.
What is the" moral aspect" of gay marriage that you dont agree with? You make that claim but you dont explain what is moraly wrong with gay marriage. I would like to understand that. Please explain.
Love is love. Period. It is not up to you or anyone else to decide what defines "normal" or "love," itself. Gay, straight, black, white, asian- we are all human beings with the capability to love and be loved. Denying anyone the pure human right to express that love in the form of a marriage commitment is simply wrong.
When the world begins to open their eyes, minds, and hearts they will see that marriage equality and other issues of civil rights are simply about HUMAN rights.
So you're saying gay people are negative? Well, here's my opinion.. Seems like you're homophobic about same-sex marriage.. You don't think it should happen because it's discrimination? It's discriminatory to not have the right of marriage. Let he among us without sin be the first to condemn. Attention? NO A RIGHT! EQUALITY NOW!!! You get the right of happiness, no one is taking that from you. So why take it from someone else? God is about pure love. He never turned his back on ANYONE.
Well the whole thing about it is it doesnt matter what you think. Hell there are people who disagree with interracial marriage and I guarantee you if they put it up for a vote a lot of people would vote against it.
Like she said people are going to do what they want to do. So even if they cant get legally married they will get closest to it. Sure wont gonna stop they from being gay. Further more if you think marriage will be tarnished. You obviously dont know the history of marriage.
The answer to the gay marriage issue is in the 10th amendment to the Constitution.
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
The Constitution says nothing about gay marriage, thus it CAN be legalized, but in a STATE setting.
the federal government has no Constitutional power to either ban or legalize it nationally.

I love your videos there great and i understand your point of view.. As a gay man i have to dissagree with you, your preaching about right and wrong and equality, but denying a group of people s priviledge that others take for granted is wrong, you know that dont you.. Im 23 years old own my own company i pay taxes active in the community, im all for taking care of the little people who need the help.... im not crying out for help but why is it ok for "dick and Jane" to get marry and not me
Being Gay is not a moral decision, it's just WHAT IS. People CHOOSE to do meth or abuse alcohol, NOT to be attracted to their own gender. If you realize this, then why deny their rights as Americans, especially when it does'nt affect you?
@beegbolt you have to put the situation in the context of Biblical moral statutes, observed by most Christians. The desire to engage in homosexual acts is not in and of itself sinful (though the inclination is a product of the fallen world) as is the propensity to abuse substances; the inherent sin lies in acting upon those desires. It is the same thing with pre-marital sex; there is a natural drive to engage in the activity, but the sin lies in acting on that inclination.
That's interesting. When applying logic to "the natural drive to engage in the activity", then we all have homosexual desires? Perhaps we are all bisexual (in the attraction sense) and most of us "choose" to follow the laws of scripture? HUGE door opened there for debate.
@beegbolt I was using "natural" in the context of the drive to engage in pre marital sex, not as a description of the status of both heterosexual and homosexual sex. Said drive is present in all humans regardless of sexual orientation; this does not contradict, or negate the fact that homosexuality is developmental. Certainly there are no innate factors that cause us to follow scripture, it is, as you said, an active choice.
"Fact that homosexuality is developmental". Wow! This has been proven? How does one become gay "developmentaley"? From first hand experience, I can tell you I was raised by two heterosexual parents, taught that it was wrong/sin/etc..., and yet I never could drop my attraction to men, OR create an attraction for women. I find it absolutely amazing that non-gay people think they know me better than I know myself.
@beegbolt Human development encompasses a vast array of chemical, biological, and psychological changes. It has been established that homosexuality is not genetic, yet there is research that supports biological influence. If you can think about it, young children are actually asexual, as they have not truly yet developed a sex drive (no matter what Freud says) or true sexual preference. When I say 'developmental' I do not suggest that it is a cognitive process, or even one that we can control.
wow. you dont support these people's civil rights? irony, i say. you probably think that Malcom X and MLK were "bitch niggas" too. and if you dont , start thinking it right fuckin now because thats the sort of ass-backwards philosophy your ignorance lends itself too. you sound like some timid guilty liberal whitey trying to justify his secret phobias of blacks by spouting a bunch of slanted "tolerance" rhetoric. where's your white hood?
It's wrong to love another person... solely because it's of the genders they happen to be? I see nothing wrong with being gay. Two adults who love each other, and are willing to commit to each other, and desire the benefits that hetero relationships receive.
Personally, I view "right" and "wrong" like THIS: Does it cause harm to another person? Is it forced, or non-consensual? If yes, then it's wrong. If not, then it's all right.
According to the CDC, men who have sex with men are diagnosed with HIV at a rate that is "44 times that of other men and more than 40 times that of women."
Type "CDC Analysis Provides New Look at Disproportionate Impact of HIV and Syphilis Among U.S. Gay and Bisexual Men" into a search engine and you will find the report.
This is the thing I don't understand about people who don't endorse same-sex marriage. You say that if two women/men want to be together then they should do just that, but then you say they shouldn't get married. If they can't get married, then why condone them being together period? The mere thought of them being together should bother you. You can't refer to yourself as a "Christian" and say that. You're trying to play both sides of the fence here.
(part 2)... about the resting place and he had to sell the house, because the partner's family had claimed all legal rights... He lost everything that the two had built in over 30 years together and is partner was put to rest 900 miles away... Ho do you think he is feeling? Don't use GESUS to discriminate... THAT IS YOUR OWN FAULT!!!
Gay rights and Abortion don't have much in common and yet you mentioned then together... your mind it's a little bit mixed up!!! I know a gay guy that loved and lived with is partner for over 30 years... yet when his partner died and because they had not been allowed to marry by people that think like yourself, he could not have a voice... Nice that lady cares about what gay people are doing, but please, maybe the chick needs to sleep with a man that cheats on her with another man before her eyes are opened and maybe her opinion about forcing guys (gay,bu,or straight) to love/commit women will change.
Needless to say this chick is waking up reciting thousand year old scripts. to herself to cheer herself up. She may never change
I just gave a speech about this in my sociology class & I said if they want 2 get married, they should go down 2 da courthouse and sign papers like normal couples do but, thats if its legal across the country.
um.. yea about this.... she said its for a man and a woman....ok hun... look at the divorce rate we see how well Tradition works out lol... and then for you to say people cant help who they love and then disagree with gay marriage.... i hate when minorities agree with discrmination against other minoriteis hun.. as a black woman you should want equality for all! because you are at the bottom in society so thik about your rights when you agree with depriving others of their rights.
LOL... okay so you say "why would you want to get married, I hear it's not that great" then you say, "I do hope to get married one day." CONTRADICTION!
How would you feel if you found out that YOU could never get married. So now you are hoping for something that will NEVER happen. It's easy to say "it's wrong" and "not right" when you are not "gay."
I mean, I see where you're coming from as a christian, and thats totally justified, I mean, worship however you feel neccesary.
However.
There are a lot of atheist Ga/Lesbian couples that want marriage strictly because of the benefits that come along with marriage. I personally am gay, and I don't neccesarily care what they call it if i'm allowed to "Marry".
But, I would like to receive the same benefits and tolerance that comes with a hetero marriage.
@TravisRocksSox Marriage by nature is a socio-religious institution; the status of the legal recognition of homosexual marriage has no bearing on the 'rights' of homosexual couples; hence civil unions (which allow homosexual couples to enjoy all of the rights of hetero couples). No, the homosexual marriage agenda is all about changing social norms, in an attempt to force an alternative viewpoint upon the populace.
Traditional marriage was arranged. Its only been in the last few hundred years did people gain the right to choose who they married. The whole idea that its for two people to come together and make one isn't what marriage truely is. If it was so then why is there divorce? Its not a cryout for attention, they just what to have a high quality of life like the rest of the population. If getting married shouldn't be such a big deal for gay people then straight marriage should be banned too.
hello!! it IS D I S C R I M I N A T I O N not to accept Gay Marriage...Come ON!!! have you ever watched a family loose a loved one?!?!? You belittle marriage BECAUSE you can marry your 'boo'....I'm guessing your are straight...Can you imagine the ICU not allowing your soul mate to hold your hand as you die? Yeah, think about THAT and 'let me know your opinion'
@freespiritjustsoul No, it is discrimination not to accept legal civil unions; marriage by nature is a social institution, not a legal one. You can spew all the emotion driven sensationalism you want, but such drivel is never a catalyst for change. It would be so easy for the LGBTA movement to legitimize civil unions in all fifty states, if only they removed the 'earmark' of marriage from it, which is basically an effort to force the populace to recognize the moral legitimacy of homosexuality
@freespiritjustsoul It's not "discrimination" to notice that gay couples are not the same as hetero couples and are not qualified to be eligible for the most important benefits of marriage - benefits which start with the legal right to be presumed the father of your wife's child.
There is no right to marry Sue, make a baby with Joe, and "give" Sue both the babies and the tax breaks that go with it.
Because Joe has rights too - and more importantly, so does the baby.
"benefits which start with the legal right to be presumed the father of your wife's child."
Utter ignorance.
So hetero couples who don't have children lack he most important benefits of marriage, do they? Maybe a positive pregnancy test should be a prerequisite to marriage licences, eh?
@Imaginefree69 There is a difference between being eligible for govt benefits, but not using them, vs not being eligible for the benefits.
With a marriage license comes the right to be presumed the father of your wife's child (as opposed to people who have babies out of wedlock, who must establish paternity via a legal action).
If we grant that right to gays, we would be granting them the "right" to be presumed the parent of a child they're not the parent of.
There is also a huge difference between equality and prejudice.
You seem unusually focussed on paternity, maybe your own history contains some questions about that? What would be the difference between "presumed" but false paternity in a gay marriage versus a straight marriage? The straight marriage gets to treat lies as reality and hide their non-paternity, hey?
Grow up and embrace freedom and equality for all, as the founding fathers intended.
@Imaginefree69 I am focused on paternity because I do not dispute that gays should have the right to choose their own life partners, or have their partners recognized by the law.
My dispute is specifically with the idea that what gays have is "the same as" marriage.
It is not, because while marriage includes life partnership, it also includes an element that gay unions do not and cannot include - the element of kinship bonds.
@Imaginefree69 The way licenses work - whether they're marriage or driver's licenses or gun licenses - you do not have to USE them if you get them, but you DO have to prove you're eligible for the benefits they grant before you do get them.
So why are gays eligible for a license that grants generous baby-making subsidies?
Why should a gay couple be entitled to a license that grants rights such as the right to skip the paternity action & be legally presumed the parent of your spouse's child?
@Imaginefree69 That makes about as much sense as saying, if you oppose bigotry against gays, don't be bigoted against gays.
It obviously does not solve the problem, since it does not resolve the question of behavior that spills into the public square.
In this case, the behavior is child abuse, misrepresentation, and fraud.
Gays are using the benefits of marriage to bypass the laws meant to protect children against exploitation, and forcing the children to pretend they have "two daddies".
Talking about it's a sin. Knowing that you are not a virgin... Nobody is better than anybody else. That is what is so hypocritical about some so called Christians. Their own "sins" are o.k. I don't think this is the example Christ set. And she even recognized that she has seen little boys who were gay. Knowing that, she still thinks she is better than them...lol please ! People just wanna be treated the same and not be discriminated against, simple as that !
why do you have an opinion? its none of your business
if you do dont believe in same sex relationships dont have sex with someone of the same sex.
lady you need to realise that the abuse that gay people go through is directly related to the fact that people like you do not show the respect that these people deserve. to say that they shouldn't be allowed to be happy and married is denying them a very basic human right. maybe you can draw a comparison to the treatment of African Americans 1940-60
At 2:21,you don't agree with the way that gays are treated and what they have to go through? That is clearly a lie because if that were true, you would be for marriage equality.
Should they "be allowed to" marry. Utterly absurd that this question is even asked... in a DEMOCRACY!!! To have an opinion on the subject is absurd. As a black woman who should understand the nature of oppression you should be ashamed of yourself. The issue is not about sex, but human rights. You cannot have opinions about minorities. You can only have opinions about things that are debatable - like drug addiction. And to compare gay people to addicts is OFFENSIVE!!! How dare you!
It's about adoption rights,a kid should be placed with a family where no one can tell if that kid is adopted,to give that kid the best shot at a family, which is all that kid wants,it's extremely offensive that gays would oppress child rights to a family, the little kids don't even have a voice to protect their rights,it is truly despicable that gays want to take away child right,How dare they!!!
Stupid argument. Gays also give birth to children. The child has a right to grow up amidst people who are free, open, and loving. Not bigoted like you and your brainwashed cronies, who are so terrified of sex that you graft your terror onto a harmless minority. Many, many children grow up to be gay... by your argument, they should have the rights to have a gay parent. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Any loving family, of either sex, is the correct family. You're such a child yourself.
so I guess your the parent that doesn't use a child safety seat or smokes while driving with your kids in the car,a kid has the right to have this stopped, but i guess if they complain you'll just threaten or beat them since you choose their rights.
Great video, I totally agree with you! The Bible is black-and-white about this subject. I'm glad to see another young person speaking the truth, a lot of us are intimidated and only want to say the "popular" thing.
I have to disagree w/ you. I am christian 2 but I think dat we shouldn't judge nor say it isn't rite. That's up to only 1 person n that is god. They will have to face god, n if the bible is true then God Y Jesus died for our sins. If you read the bible correctly do you know that getting piercings n tattoos are sinful? Fornication, eating to much, wanting to look good for you boo, are all sins. Please do not interpret the bible 4 the way you live life. MY OPINION TOO!! SO DONT GET MAD AT ME
jacomet1 shut up u damn cunt..u probably gay urself thats y u mad...i dont agree with gay marriage either...people changing the world with they sick freakish minds..it was never suppose to be like that....people like that are just playing the devil's game
Of course they should be allowed to wed, and Religion should be kept private in peoples own homes and lives and not shoved in every ones faces all the time.

Should they be allowed?
What is this, Saudi Arabia?
Who is this who is "allowing" or not allowing others to act in peaceable, personal ways?
That is the height of arrogance.
Sounds like a Christian, to me.
Maybe we should legislate a test of sanity before granting marriage licences?
That would prevent Bible-thumpers from reproducing!
(since we all know that they never engage in pre- or extra-marital sex)
Now THAT would be a really useful law.

There is no right to marry Sue, make a baby with Joe, and "give" Sue both the babies and the tax breaks that go with it.
Because Joe has rights too - and more importantly, so does the baby.
Fraud is not a "right".

"benefits which start with the legal right to be presumed the father of your wife's child."
Utter ignorance.
So hetero couples who don't have children lack he most important benefits of marriage, do they? Maybe a positive pregnancy test should be a prerequisite to marriage licences, eh?
Do come back after you grow up, okay?
Imaginefree69 1 year ago
@Imaginefree69 There is a difference between being eligible for govt benefits, but not using them, vs not being eligible for the benefits.
With a marriage license comes the right to be presumed the father of your wife's child (as opposed to people who have babies out of wedlock, who must establish paternity via a legal action).
If we grant that right to gays, we would be granting them the "right" to be presumed the parent of a child they're not the parent of.
Fraud is not a right.

@vicorii
Imaginefree69 1 year ago
@Imaginefree69 I am focused on paternity because I do not dispute that gays should have the right to choose their own life partners, or have their partners recognized by the law.
My dispute is specifically with the idea that what gays have is "the same as" marriage.
It is not, because while marriage includes life partnership, it also includes an element that gay unions do not and cannot include - the element of kinship bonds.
vicorii 1 year ago
@vicorii
"gay unions do not and cannot include - the element of kinship bonds."
What the hell are you trying to say?
In what way are the "kinship bonds" in a childless hetero marriage
different from the "kinship bonds" in a childless homo marriage?
In no way at all.
Your malice is not supported by reason.
Imaginefree69 1 year ago
@Imaginefree69 The way licenses work - whether they're marriage or driver's licenses or gun licenses - you do not have to USE them if you get them, but you DO have to prove you're eligible for the benefits they grant before you do get them.
So why are gays eligible for a license that grants generous baby-making subsidies?
Why should a gay couple be entitled to a license that grants rights such as the right to skip the paternity action & be legally presumed the parent of your spouse's child?

@vicorii
You have completely avoided and evaded my question.
You seem to be trying to surreptitiously move the goal posts to fit your assertions rather than the rational alternative.
So rather than play a game of chasing your bouncing ball, I repeat my question:
In what way are the "kinship bonds" in a childless hetero marriage
different from the "kinship bonds" in a childless homo marriage?

@vicorii
If you are opposed to gay marriage
I suggest you not marry a gay man.
Problem solved.
Imaginefree69 1 year ago
@Imaginefree69 That makes about as much sense as saying, if you oppose bigotry against gays, don't be bigoted against gays.
It obviously does not solve the problem, since it does not resolve the question of behavior that spills into the public square.
In this case, the behavior is child abuse, misrepresentation, and fraud.
Gays are using the benefits of marriage to bypass the laws meant to protect children against exploitation, and forcing the children to pretend they have "two daddies".

"That makes about as much sense as saying, if you oppose bigotry against gays, don't be bigoted against gays."
Yep, that makes perfect sense.
"In this case, the behavior is child abuse, misrepresentation, and fraud"
I consider that accusation to be a lie
and I challenge you to produce EVIDENCE to support it.
Either that or withdraw your false accusation and apologize.
Integrity demands one or the other.
We both know that if you HAVE any evidence you will post it.
I think you're a liar.

@vicorii I'm gay and I'm never planning on adopting or having a child. Now why can't I get married?

"eligible for the benefits they grant "
Apparently you do not understand the definition and concept of license.
License has nothing to do with "benefits".
License is PERMISSION.
Here's what my dictionary says:
"formal or official permission to do something"
Benefits are a separate topic.
Did you by any chance receive poor marks in your high school English courses?
It's a tragedy that your teachers failed to introduce you to such things as truth and the golden rule and dictionaries.

"... "the same as" marriage."
It is NOT "the same as" marriage.
It is marriage.
Straight couples have thoroughly failed at marriage and turned it into a sort of lease, to be terminated at the first dissatisfaction.
I suspect that the gays won't do worse, even if they do no better.
And it's not YOUR position to limit or control the peaceable actions of other adults.
Take care of your own business and let others take care of theirs.

People just wanna be treated the same and not be discriminated against, simple as that !

why do you have an opinion? its none of your business
if you do dont believe in same sex relationships dont have sex with someone of the same sex.
lady you need to realise that the abuse that gay people go through is directly related to the fact that people like you do not show the respect that these people deserve. to say that they shouldn't be allowed to be happy and married is denying them a very basic human right. maybe you can draw a comparison to the treatment of African Americans 1940-60
mrhipocrit 2 years ago 4

How dare you!
nicksum29 2 years ago
It's about adoption rights,a kid should be placed with a family where no one can tell if that kid is adopted,to give that kid the best shot at a family, which is all that kid wants,it's extremely offensive that gays would oppress child rights to a family, the little kids don't even have a voice to protect their rights,it is truly despicable that gays want to take away child right,How dare they!!!
mike71470 2 years ago
Stupid argument. Gays also give birth to children. The child has a right to grow up amidst people who are free, open, and loving. Not bigoted like you and your brainwashed cronies, who are so terrified of sex that you graft your terror onto a harmless minority. Many, many children grow up to be gay... by your argument, they should have the rights to have a gay parent. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Any loving family, of either sex, is the correct family. You're such a child yourself.
nicksum29 2 years ago
A child has a right to say if he or she is adopted it's nobody else's business but if a gay couple adopts that kid the child will lose that right.
mike71470 2 years ago
utter rubbish. A child has as many rights as his parents choose to give him. You are obviously not a parent. I am - so shush!
nicksum29 2 years ago
so I guess your the parent that doesn't use a child safety seat or smokes while driving with your kids in the car,a kid has the right to have this stopped, but i guess if they complain you'll just threaten or beat them since you choose their rights.
mike71470 2 years ago
Yes, you're right. Oh, go away - you funny little man.

Great video, I totally agree with you! The Bible is black-and-white about this subject. I'm glad to see another young person speaking the truth, a lot of us are intimidated and only want to say the "popular" thing.

Oh just to let you know I subscribed though!! I love when a person expresses their opinion and not be disrespectful about it.
