Its actually a proven fact that prolonged exposure to marijuana lessens the brains ability to function fully. Beyond the fact that it is extremely addictive (yes like alcohol which also has similar negative affects when used in excess). It may be a part of your religion, but that doesn't make it not a drug, and it doesn't take away the effect that it has. I live in freakin Portland Oregon, I know too many people who have thrown their life and their skating away because they wanted to just smoke.

I still hang with dudes who smoke, I don't make less of them for it, but to say that its not addictive and that it doesn't affect you is flat out wrong. Also, the bong simply cools the smoke and may filter some (not much) of the THC but leaves more tars and typically means one has to smoke more to get high. The bong is worse.

That's what I am saying. You take longer hits and thus inhale more of the tars and non-psychoactive materials. You still have to get the same amount of THC to reach that high, but now also have to inhale more of the other tars to get there. In essence you use more marijuana and get the same high. The bong is actually worse for most users as a result. There have been very extensive studies done on this. It only means you get to smoke longer and to your own detriment.

Point is its still a drug and the culture surrounding it so strongly encourages exploration that its VERY common for people to get into stronger more dangerous drugs as a result.
