Well, anyway, there I was reading "On the Road" again and saw Dexter Gordon's name mentioned but this time I had also noticed an ad in the Boston Globe that Dexter was back from Europe and going to play at Paul's Mall, a small Boston Club. On one of the coldest nights I've ever gone out in, I took my two younger brothers to the club. The band was this band, and we watched a show that would be something that none of us will ever forget as long as we live. You never know.
It's unfortunate that this song never made it to the studio. I think that it's one of the best versions. Lost gems like these were only experienced live. Thanks for sharing!
This clip make the hair stan up on the back of my neck and gives me goose bumps. I feel so fortunate not only to have lived on the earth as the seam time as Maestro Dexter, but to have seen him twice during this period when he came back to the states and made the Homecoming double album. This shit swings so hard with so little effort. Burning with total efficeincy. Thanx for the posting!
