Few people are aware that Florence started with a markedly different face; you can see it in early T.V. appearances. It simply is not the face of a star or actress, but of a nice small town or farm girl from Indiana. She took care of THAT quickly, nothing drastic or odd, but definitely a move toward highlighting her beautiful features which had not been much evident.
