This is BS. The Police did know the name of Anders because on security cam they could se the truck with the bomb before it blasted. The car was from AVIS rented by ABB. The second car at Utøya was also rented by the same person from AVIS. Therefor they did know his name when they arrested him. He had already his arms up and his guns where beside him when the police confronted him.
The court was closed because they feard that he can give signals to a second cell if it existed.

Actually police found his name because they had security camera videos of the car used in the bomb attack. The car was from a rental office, from where Breivik had rented cars for the bomb and to get to the island.

We are almost on the bottom of violent crime charts worldwide, and we've not needed guns to achieve this. The solution to one maniac with a gun is not to make sure everyone else has a gun. I would feel a lot less safe knowing everyone had a gun around me, particularly seeing the amount of insane people who follow AJ blindly. It would make me feel very worried indeed.

We do not ban weapons, we simply don't encourage it, and we don't allow it in certain areas. You need a permit to carry it. If guns were more widespread, we'd see a tremendous increase in crimes of passion, armed robberies, etc. I do not want that, and nor does most of my fellow citizens. There are essentially no armed police officers on the street, and the antiterror squad that arrived at utøya are not like your swat, but more like the "SRU" that you find in the show Flashpoint. They're not so much interested in just having the criminals in body bags, but actually catching them alive. If the killer had attempted to fire upon them, they would have put a few rounds in his head but he didn't.
