I had the distinct pleasure and Honor to meet a 30+ year veteran Naval Aviator who, while stationed on the Hornet, witnessed the loading of the planes that Doolittle's men used in the raid....and also witnessed the take off of the same planes. I will always remember his discription of those events, in the glowing terms that he used......
Experience the thrill of historic aviation in four legendary aircraft from the World War II era. The Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston, Texas is now offering bomber and trainer flight experiences in its B-17 Flying Fortress, B-25 Mitchell, T-6 Texan and PT-17 Stearman
The Mitchell B-25 has always been my favorite bomber ever. Having driven BUFF's (that's the Big Ugly Fat F**ker (aka: B-52)) I would take a '25 anytime over a BUFF! These were beautiful and elegant simplicity!
Absolutely incredible !!! A definite tribute to the greatest generation! I am grateful every day for all those who have protected our freedom and way of life and thankful for those who still are. These birds and there crews represent Americas greatest achievements and triumphs. Thanks so much for sharing this !!
Great video by Terri Polley who was abord the Pacific Princess as the lead photographer. I had no idea that they flew the plane from Chino CA to Ohio for this event. I must have been tight but it looksed like fun honoring the brave herso that gave us our freedom today, just as we will have to fight forthe freedom for our children tomorrow.
Absolutely Incredible Video....I got the chills. God Bless all of our Troops and comfort the Hearts of those that lost loved ones who fought on the Battlefield to provide the warm blanket of Freedom our Nation has..... Thank you for sharing this.
One of my videos im up close with one of the B-25 shown in this. If you notice the one with on the front it says "Panchito" its in my video where he's holding brakes with full throttle. Its funny because this is April and not to long from then they would be in another air show for the WWII weekend June 4,5,6 at Reading Pennsylvannia
Man they are low....even today, if I looked up, heard and saw these guys coming I would be running. Man the sight and sound alone would scare the hell out of me. I wouldn't know what to think! Great work and thank you to all those men and woman who have reached into their own pockets to get these things running. God Bless
Gary, thanks for taking care of us at Clovis - we had a fabulous time and really appreciated you helping us get the plane put away - an empty ramp is no place to be in a big thunderstorm! We will be back through Clovis again - thanks for sharing your model planes with us too!!
Thanks for sharing this event with us! I remember seeing the Panchito at Oshkosh one year. God bless the people who died protecting our country, flying over enemy lands.
Its a shame there arent many, many more of the men from the war left that are still here today. This is the legacy that those brave men left for us to cherish for many years to come. Never forget what they did for us and the rest of the world against great odds. Always listen to their stories, for they are history right in front of you.
Thank you so much for posting this!! My father loved Wright Field and I spent many a day with him and my mother there. I never understood the fasination then. He did not serve in the Pacific or on B-25's but he spent many years in WW2. He served with the 461st Bomb Group and was award the Bronze Star for his service on B52's. This brought tears to my eyes. I miss him so. He has been gone since 2000. He would have Loved this!!!!!
thank you so much, the video, the audio just a perfect match, this makes think of the USA might and the love of the world had for us before , and now its sad to see the downhill we are heading to
Yes, outstanding. Great video, great music, great heroes. Like the wartime photos, too, I've never seen the one with the Wildcat on Hornet's deck or the one with Marc Mitscher. Thank you.
Only appropriate that Pacific Princess had cameras on board for this since in a previous life it was the Tallmantz Camera ship used in everything from "Catch 22" to "Memphis Belle". Good work guys!
What a quality video, thank you for posting. Simply amazing footage. Wish I was still living in Ohio, that would be really something to see in person.
Thank you for this great video! I was the flight engineer on the last B-25 in service in the Airforce. We took it from Roswell NM to the plane graveyard in Arizona. There is an Airforce Times that has photos of us. It was a super aircraft. ( you did have to change the bottom plugs before runup almost every day.) I still tear up thinking about when we taxied it out to the line of old B-25s and left her!
My father had 72 missions in B-25's in Southern European theatre. He never much talked about it - a humble, but tremendous, generation of men. We owe more than we can possibly repay. They gave more than anyone could expect, and only because it was their desire to do what was right, regardless the risk, or the cost, to themselves.
Wish I had known the event was happening - would have loved to have seen much of it live over the few days ....
This is such a wonderful thing you have done. This is a great way to keep such an important piece of our history alive. Thank you for what you have done!
Incredible music. perfect for this reunion of all the pilot's and crew's that took part in this raid.

Brings me to tears.
I fear men like the Doolittle Raiders will never again walk the Earth.
This generation is truly the Greatest.
