Concept and its execution are magnificent. Look at the video for New Look's "The Ballad" - State of the art synthpop from 2011, and it wants nothing more than to *be* DM's 1986 "Stripped." Given time, this will be looked back upon for the vicious social commentary that it deservedly was. DM never built their fanbase by being palatable to the masses, and cheers to them for staying faithful to their ideas.
I actually kinda like this video. Not in a way that I enjoy it (no I'm still repulsed by certain parts) , but it's clear what DM wanted with this video. Just to get a reaction. That's exactly what they were looking for, kind of like Alice Cooper back in the day... And Lady Gaga recently with her costumes/antics. DM aren't the kind to put themselves out there in meat suits, so they do a video instead.
