Outstanding movie by McCarthy, with Giamatti showing once again why he is one of the best American character actors around.

The kid playing Kyle (Alex Shaffer) has plenty of charisma - reminded me of a young Sean Penn.

All in all, a gem of a movie that takes its viewers seriously and with a slightly more upbeat ending than McCarthy's previous (and equally brilliant) "The Visitor", which I loved.

Great family movie, has a lot of good morals/themes to learn from. The acting is not so bad either.

Don't expect the normal "happily ever after", this movie is more realistic and raw- that being said, the ending's not tragic or sad. It targets the problems that people face in life at different stages, and sets an interesting contrast. It's not the "MOST AMAZING MOVIE ever", but it's worth the time.

This is really a must-see. While there are some parts that are a bit odd/quirky, it has a lot of heart and I thought everyone played their parts really really well.
