This is from the early/mid 90's series, when G.I. Joe SUCKED ASS; the best was the 80's episodes, when cobra actually had a chance. (Cobra Commander's metal suit was not seen in TV until AFTER the movie came out I believe? Can't remember anymore)

@metal220 - Technically, the DiC seasons are a continuation of the Sunbow seasons. But many Joe fans ignore it because of its reduced quality, changes in voice cast (except for Cobra Commander and Baroness, for example), and it's overall more childish tone, even moreso than the Sunbow series.

@metal220 - The 80s show was by Sunbow. They made two miniseries (1983 and 1984, respectively), two seasons (1985-1986), and "G.I. Joe: The Movie" in 1987. They were going to do a third season in 1988, but DiC lured Hasbro to let them take over the show for a much lower budget.

the DiC series was a continuation based on how the comic sieries went in the years of a gi show being absent. and the movie was not Canon therefore never happeneed. as for this cobra commander is acutally a crimson guardsmen named fred broca and only the baroness knows of this, everyone else thinks its CC whos currently in therapy from a coma. as for destro, its his M.A.R.S. corparation uniform, and its a mask . . .

Uh no. Get your story straight. This CC was the real CC who was turned into a snake by serpentor. He is restored by the Baroness in the 5 episode movie, Operation Dragon fire. The cartoon has NOTHING to do with the comics continuity. Larry Hama himself has said this.
