@mowriter Well true but exaggerated...i'm no socialist, and im no John Todd supporter... But when I was reading it...there was a lot of talk of inspirational freedom which is weird. However, I forget which page but it talked about folks bankrupting their own companies and derailing railroads. And I agree with you that Todd didn't seem to demonstrate enough knowledge on the book but he wasn't all wrong on the matter. And the entire thing is boring. Not just the first 40 pages. xD

@JoshPahr Let me tell you some things I learned in physics: that for an object to fall at 32ft/sec.2 requires no resistance. This means 47 floors of concrete and steel didn't slow the building down as it fell. So either Newton's third law is not true or something (i.e. explosives) moved all that mass out of the way.

In a controlled demo, you would see all floors of the building blow at the same time or sequentially, not in one area that made the building topple. And also, wrong law, third law is reaction pairs, equal and opposite reactions.

@JoshPahr Bldg. 7 had 58 perimeter columns and 25 core columns, that all had to fail simultaneously. The building did not "topple", but fell straight down through the path of greatest resistance. The equal and opposite forces are gravity on one hand and the resistance to gravity (i.e. 47 stories of steel and concrete) on the other. Time to take your American flag blind fold off bud. @Camyum once again, wrong law. The recoil of a gun is a reaction pair. Poor engineering was the cause, the sprinkler system wasn't automatic, nor did it have sufficient water pressure even if it was. Yes steal melts at a hotter temperature than was in any of the buildings, but it was hot enough to warp the metal by making the molecules move faster and weakening it's structural stability with tons of weight crushing from above till a few stories collapsed and the weight above helped crush beneath

Plus John Todd's statement that she gave early portions only "to the illuminati first" is also false. Ayn Rand gave the books to publishers and members of the general public(about 10,000 periodically) because she didn't think the book would sell very well.

One last point on Todd (for the present) I still don't know how he is considered an "ex-illuminati" member. Perhaps I will take the time to try to find the answer. Atlas Shrugged spells out how government uses it's long tentacles to envelope first a nation, then the world. The book was a warning to Americans as far as I can tell. Sadly, Rands dark vision is unfolding as described in the book. I believe it is a wake up call. (Hmmm, did Ron Paul name his son "Rand" in her honor?)

I'll be frank with regard to John Todd. I know little about the guy. In my lifetime, I have experienced many different levels of Christian zealotry. I have seen religion distorted and used for control of people. I have no use for it. When someone starts with the "demons" and "spells" , I turn them off. In my humble opinion, Todd missed the boat with Rand. Listen to her late interviews. I don't give a rats ass if she slept with a Rothschilde. She was her own woman, and she was nobodies fool~
