Travis is multi-faceted. He can do blues, rock, Southern rock, country, ballads, fast tunes, etc. He'll even do cover tunes of songs by Waylon Jennings, The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Bon Jovi. Once I saw him in concert and he did his version of Wanted, Dead or Alive.
@wolverinefan1968, @chickenhawk2323, You both are right. I have seen Travis live 5 times and no one is a more energetic, enthusiastic performer than he is. He gives 110% every performance. He LOVES music, performing, and just having a ball on stage. He can be quite a ham sometimes.
Travis is one of the best of all time...And he writes 99% of all his songs...Not too many artists do that.. Only other two that comes to mind is Alan Jackson and Taylor Swift
@chickenhawk2323 true, but taylor swift isnt really country its more modern pop. travis tritt is the real deal! this man has so much hart and soul its crazy!
He may be marketed as a "country" musician, but for my money Tritt rocks harder and sounds hotter than a lot of the so-called "rockers" and "rock & rollers" who have come down the pike the last 20 years!
Travis does a great job on this ARS cover. But, I have to admit, his lead guitar player, Wendell Cox, just knocks it out of the park!! His playing and tone are spot on! Great job!!
Atlanta Rhythm Section first released Homesick on their album Quinella in 1981. It's on YouTube, but Travis does a damn good rendition. Travis and The Atlanta Rhythm Section are both Georgia Boys.
I saw Travis perform live in So. Bend for the MDA Ride & there were about 5000 bikers, but since I didn't have a ride I was able to get first row by the stage. Travis blew a kiss & I turned around to see what beautiful girl it was for. When I couldn't figure out who it was and turned back around he was smiling & pointing right at me.Very cool moment. He did Homesick. It blew me away & rocked the crowd. He had just lost one of his friends from Lynyrd Skynyrd & did a tribute w/Sweet Home Alabama.
I love Travis. I have been to see him 9 times in 4 states. One of the best country artists of all time. He's talented whether its him and the band or just him and he can sing all genres of music. A true artist.
@wolverinefan1968 Thanks for the reply, yes I will always be strong enough for Travis, I was very fortunate to have met this soulhearted man, June 29/06 at Casino Rama and Travis is everything he appears to be, he makes you feel like a friend and he is very humorous, and a down to earth guy, Thanks for listening....Barbara
@wolverinefan1968 - It was not only one of the best concerts ever, I consumed more beer than ever! It was one heck of a party but really hurt the next day......
where can I find the "rock" version from Tritt.. this one I mean.. but from the studio.. the one from It's all about to Change.. is not this one.. please help!
@blah114a The studio version kicks ass. I used to ahve that album. Think it was called Somethings gonna change (or something like that). Came out in early 90's. One of his first. Think it had HERE"S A QUARTER and ANYMORE on it too. I think the song originally was done by a band called Little Feat.
I have a question for you Travis Tritt fans. This has become a big thing between my family. In the album version of this song, after he says "yes yes yes" and that person does the cream, is it a guy or a girl? I think it's a guy and my step dad thinks it's a girl. Please help!
Lol. I never got the impression he was actually 'drunk.' It's very hard to be drunk and perform well, especially while you're singing, playing the guitar, and dancing. I've got the entire concert uploaded. Feel free to watch them and judge for yourself. Now I won't say he hasn't been drunk on stage before, because out of performing for like 15+ years, I've heard a couple comments where he was drunk, but it's an extremely rare event.
Love that rebel flag guitar. And this song is probably Travis' best rockin' song. Could very well be a rock crossover song. Honestly, my father n law hated country music when I first met him back in 2003. And I played his song (put some drive in you country) and he has been hooked on country music ever since then. Go Travis!!!
HE`S AS GOOD AS DANNY JOE,EVEN BETTER.LOVE THIS SONG

You referring to the one that starts about 25 seconds into the album version where they scream aaaaaahhhhh ha ha hey...that's a guy.

Thank you so much. Any chance you could tell me the name of the person?

My best guess, it was either a Studio backup singer or perhaps it was one of the members of the Country Club band, but I don't know for sure.
