  • Real good player. But it's weird ... sometimes his vibrato here sounds good and sometimes it sounds crappy. Like syrupy and then nervous and amateur. Like I say, weird.

  • The comments posted here are depressing, so many 'guitarists' consider anything that's not played stupidly fast and technical isn't impressive. This is a good tasteful and far from boring solo. Its a 'musical' instrument not a wanking machine.

  • if only randy rhoads was there to do a solo as well wud b amazing

  • VERY VERY EASY. AMAZING????

  • @lamaquinadeltiempo1

    Hard is specialy amazing ?

  • nice 60's les paul jr

  • Here is a link of Carlos shredding for all you young little shit talkers who werent even a stain on your daddy's pant leg while this guy was touring the world rockin' and rollin' every night touring behind a number one album /watch?v=V1-B6VeNc6w

  • @YooTubeSuxLikeHell ....you mean, " an itch in their daddy's pants"....

  • There's something I really do like about this solo

  • He was the replacement for randy rhoads. anything he played that was amazing was written and perfected by randy.

    Anything after .... was weak.

  • Bien hecho Carlitos!!!

  • orgullozamente mexicano!!

  • yawn

  • very very slow

  • @lamaquinadeltiempo1 It's called playing melodic. A concept many guitarists cant grasp. Alot more thought is put into a melodic solo than a shred solo. He's got great technique here as well. Nice vibrato. This is what a solo should sound like.

  • @lamaquinadeltiempo1 ....Ok, and? Is he suppose to fall down on the floor and slam it on the ground, play like he is on speed for your satisfaction? Learn some about guitarists and then come back and comment when you have learned some different technics of guitar playing.

  • @RNRDOLL i concur! there was NO alternative wayyyyyy back then .

  • He's never been good unfortunately.

  • that was terrible

  • @minpinful carlos definitely made a name for himself with memorable solos his album went number one he ever carried ratt back to the top on there new album with both of his songs being picked as the singles..and what have you accomplished again?

  • Nice guitar,I have a Gibson SG-X,I'm not sure what the "X" means but SG means "solid guitar".

  • the guitar solo from come on feel the noise GOT TO BE A TOP 10

and i know music,i know what i am saying

  • Nah he's ok!

  • I had this video.. I think Carlos is a damn good guitarist. His weakness is his vibrato in this clip though. But he was still developing... I wish more guitarists played like this. I can't stand all the "shred at all costs" playing anymore.

  • was this at the; Hear 'n Aid - We're Stars recording ?

  • turn comments off

  • super easy

  • oh stop ur bitching guys this guy is awesome he has his own style awesome playing i know this sounds a bit dopey but im guessing this solo is an improvisation if not any1 know what this song is called???

  • And this was the guy to replace Rhoads with Quiet Riot? Sure, he's good but he's nothing special.

  • where to download this?

  • how can people dislike this video ? Carlos rocks !

  • anybody got guitar pro tab for this? awesome

  • Just like I taught him :)

  • Carlos was and still is very underrated as a guitarist. It`s a shame he never got the respect he deserved. I`m figuring it was due to Kevin Dubrow acting like such a buffoon in the 80`s so nobody took QR seriously even so Carlos is a excellant guitarist and Frankie Benali is a great drummer. When the people in the states got wind QR`s biggest hits were Slade covers they lost alot of respect.

  • I don't know why but Carlos reminds me so much of Corey Feldman from that movie stand by me.

  • Cavazo had such a great vibrato, I put it right up there with Mr. Schenker. Carlos is very underrated.

  • carlos cavazo rocks

  • ...and someone shoots DIME.

  • Riot: worste rip off act ever xD

  • Carlos has some serious Satch & Vai potential.

  • sounds like George Lynch

  • STILL THINK

PHIL X IS THE BEST GUITARIST

  • FIERAAAAA , ole ahi tus GUEBOS si fuera mujer te follaba

  • that was badass

  • What a Bastard! LOL!

  • cooooooooool

  • he is a total badass what more can be said YOU ROCK Carlos You ROCK!!!!

  • carlos cavazo rocks

  • I think I'm right but I think Carlos Cavazo replaced Rnady Rhodes (RIP) on guitar when Randy died

  • @resdsox1 Carlos Replaced RR when he left Quiet Riot to join Ozzy.

  • @resdsox1

How come you never heard Randy joined Ozzy after QR? OMG talk about being out of the loop

  • @D7maj I thought he was doing both Ozzy & QR

  • @resdsox1 your correct keep on rocking

  • Some 6 years ago or so (maybe longer) my Rock cover band Medallion opened for Quiet Riot, with all 4 of their original members live onstage. Lemme tell ya....Carlos Cavazo was BuuulllAAAAZZZZZING on guitar at the speed of light! I am a veteran musician (on guitar and bass) who is not easily-impressed. This little video clip (above), while cool and all, does not come close to what this man can throw down on guitar!!! He was THEEE SHOW!!!!! Fully Blown Away I WAS!!!

  • I'm 39 years-old, and Quiet Riot was the second hard rock band of which I became a fan (the first was Kiss, which I discovered at the age of 7). Quiet Riot's "Metal Health" was the first LP that I went and purchased for myself at the age of 12. To me, Carlos Cavazo, is one of the most tasty, competent guitarists to come out of that period. He's not overly flashy and he focuses on the music; in my opinion he is a real musician on the guitar. To go back and listen to him play is a pleasure.

  • I think this sucks really bad.

  • Carlos Cavazo is a beast on the guitar it's sweet how he's in Ratt now.

  • nice style!

  • man i remember this videos when i first learn how to playing the guitar is a cool videos.

  • He's no Randy Rhoads but that was pretty good

  • He's was actually Randy's top student and replaced randy when he went to play for ozzy.

  • @PlayingGuitarRules thats not true. How told you that?

  • @PlayingGuitarRules Your are mistaking Carlos for Joe Holmes.

  • Cavazo has a sweet vibrato

  • I thought it was cool, his notes all flowed good and he did not just wank away. And ofcourse the Hair is awesome lol

  • wow looks like an old VHS of the top 40 guitarist that i had as a kid

  • No Im wrong, all the other vids suck too,Nice hair though.

  • @HawkRock1996

He's playing full minor (aeolian mode) not pentatonic. Beside its pretty obvious he's going for melody (all rock/heavy metal guitarists need to do this!), not shredding for the sake of showing off. The video is supposed to be instructional, not masturbatory.

  • @RNRDOLL AMEN

  • @RNRDOLL AMEN

  • @RNRDOLL: Wow! Someone out there who actually 'gets' this! You, sir, are right on. Playing guitar well, and being a good soloist is more than just speed, it's having a warm tone. Also, one thing I like about Cavazo's tone is it's NOT that shrill, presence and preamp gain on 10, fizzy bullshit laden with 10 tons of delay. That means he's using more attack and expression than letting the amp do all the heavy lifting. Nice post.

  • @RNRDOLL ...I agree...there are some people on here commenting, don't know what they are talking about. If they were good listeners, they would know a good guitarist when they hear one.

  • i plan on learning the things randy learned being classical jazz blues bluegrass country ect.... that is what i said you fucker and by the way if you play guitar al day every day then why arent you playing it right now?

  • Ha! That is fuckin horible.

  • Bzzzz wrong, it has great lyrical melody. That's really what lead guitar is about. Countless guitar players can shred. You can walk into any guitar store around the world at any given time and run into some guy on his lunch break who is shredding. Being able to make the guitar sound like a singing voice. That's what separates the men from the boys. This has tasteful, lyrical phrasing and great note choice. Less is more.

  • can you post a vid playing this good???Everyone Has there own style and tech...thats the great thing about playing..its total self expression!!!There should NEVER be a IM BETTER THAN YOU type of attitude about guitar playing !..its not a competition!....EDWARD,,VAI,,ClAPTON,,,DIMEBAG,,HENDRIX,ect.,.....Not one is better than the other!!!...JUST DIFFERENT!!...

  • randy kicked ass but carlos i awesome too!

  • awesome...

  • He was the best student of rhoads

  • Carlos earned that job replacing Rhoads, but they can't really be compared.

  • agreed but brad gillis was the one who really took randys place brad gillis is a pretty bad-ass guitarist.......but just think if randy was alive today nobody could whoop him not even yngwie malmsteen

  • Thats true, id say the only players who even came close to Randy were Dimebag Darrell, Brad Gillis and Jake E Lee.

  • i agree randy was basicly the best guitarist that ever lived the only to ever take randys place was eddie van halen he taught randy how to play guitar but all credit given to Jake Brad & Dimebag there pretty bad-ass

  • Well, in a figurative sense he taught him, since he opened his eyes to speed, in fact many times he said he loved Eddie's work. I myself love Eddie, but I wouldn't say that he was able to fill Randy's shoes, they were more sharing the pedestal.

  • well randy was a student of the guitar he could play anything he got his hands on when randy was with ozzy and they was a few days ahead of a city randy would call in and find the best guitar instructor in town and once he found him he'd go and have the instructor teach him what he knew.randy knew all kinds of styles from classical to jazz &blues metal bluegrass and the list goes on but im a big fan of randys work. eddie would probably still be better cause eddie has some 20+ albums & randy 2

  • Technically Randy had 4 counting the Quiet Riot. And i personally think that Diary OF A Madman and Blizzard of Ozz are better then anything Eddie ever did, though over the years as Eddie progressed he may have become a more technically proficient guitar player then Randy was at the time of his death. I wasn't aware that Randy knew jazz, and I thought he only took classical lessons when he went from teacher to teacher.

  • well quiet riots first album with randy never got released i dont know why blizzard of oz and diary of a madman was randys best work in my opinion i think his best song was crazy train but yea randy knew jazz he pretty much knew everything randy was a student he was constantly learning new guitar styles hel randy didnt even play metal ...he played classical way back when.....then sometime in 1980 ozzy called him up and hired him through phone and thats where randy started learning everything

  • Randy was hired in person, he was warming up and Ozzy liked what he was doing. Randy's first two Quiet Riot albums, just didn't come out in the us, but they did come out, and he was playing rock with Quiet riot, and he had always shown an interest in it. And Randy was most definitely metal, not the heaviest of it, but it was most definitely metal. And crazy train was on Blizzard Of Ozz. And by the way, have you heard everything other than crazy train?

  • i didnt know that the quiet riot albums had been released. i havent heard anything of the albums around the parts. ozzy hired randy through the phone as he had heard him warm up so sometime later on he called him up and asked him if he wanted to play for him and he said yes .of course ive heard more then crazy train i just think randys best song was crazy train but the rest of them such as mr crowley and bark at the moon....etc are pretty kick ass

  • Sorry about asking, im just very skeptic about people who say randy's best song was crazy train, and Randy didn't play on Bark At The Moon, Jake E Lee did.

  • thats ok lol im just a humongous randy rhoads fan i think all of his songs are kick ass i just like crazy train the most and i though he did play bark at the moon it sounds like his playing

  • Bark At The Moon was released in '84, almost 2 years after Randy's death in March of '82. Jake E Lee is playing guitar on that album, and he kicks ass, but i don't really think he sounds like Randy though.

  • well i didnt know that ......just think what randy wouldve become if he wouldve lived which nobody knows what wouldve happend he would be even better today he never had a chance to unleash his true talent on the world

  • Thats true, if im not mistaken, i think Ozzy once said that Randy had written some things better then anything he had written before, but i cant remember where. But on the other side of things, he was getting attracted towards Journey style rock and classical more then anything than he was towards heavy metal. But there is not a doubt in my mind that anything he would have done would have been kickass.

  • randy was a very talented artist him and ozzy was the best "singer-guitarist"duo there ever was randy didnt start off playing metal or rock n roll back then.he started out playing classical music he would take and put in blues guitar riffs for example and mix them up into a heavy metalish sound id say that randy was the best guitarist that ever lived anything and everything he made was or would have been kick fuckin ass

  • I agree 100 fucking percent. R.I.P. Randy Rhoads. Today is his 53rd birthday. Funny how this conversation takes place on a video on a Carlos Cavazo video.

  • lol agreed 1000% randall william rhoads you are dearly missed. randy is one of the guitarist who inspierd me i plan on learning the things randy learned being classical jazz blues bluegrass country ect....i want to be the next randall rhoads ...wish me luck dude and carlos cazavo was a student of randys so yea theres room enough for the both of em lol

  • Well i look forward to seeing you at the top bro. And don't even get me started on a percent war.

  • thats not gonna be an easy war but ill get there one of these days ......i made it a must do to learn everything that randy knew its my only way of paying respects

  • I still look forward to be seeing you up at the top of the metal world, cant wait to see you there. I've already learned most of his stuff, and I put on a new cover of Goodbye To Romance for his birthday, its pretty cool.

  • i might not be recignized but i do plan on learning all the stuff randy learned right now i can play death thrash classic rock heavy and the blues self taught on all of them but ill look forward 2 seeing you at the top b4 i get there im only 15 lol

  • You've got two years on me bro. Im a thrash death and blues player. We've both got a long way to go.

  • well i wish you luck man but yes we have a very long way to go

  • lol yep

  • You can play all of those genres? Cause your video says you can't. And wtf are you doing to your guitar, I know its fun to wank around, but seriously wtf is that? I would never insult my guitar by doing that.

  • i never said i could play all of them i said i was going 2 learn all of them and shut the fuck up nobody pulled your chain btw why dont you go tell that 2 yngwie malmsteen he is the 1 who i got it from ...... i bet you cant even play guitar so shut up and go on

  • Your exact words were right now I can play....and then a list of genres. So you did say thats what you could play. I play guitar all day, everyday, so yes I do play.

  • what? i was naming off what randy played I SAID I PLAN ON LEARNING AND THEN A LIST OF GENRES GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!!!!

  • Sounded pretty good

    The vibrato is nervous though

  • an average guitar player, lets be honest he`s about on the same level as the guy who`s job he has in Ratt (Robbin Crosby R.I.P)

  • yeah carlos is not just a guitarist that has feeling and emotion he puts an amazing edge on his style.... and after meeting him he is as cool as they come... a real winner ,i loved randy rhodes... i think mabey carlos has more feeling in his music. i wish i could learn from him....

  • hes fuckin ace , remember that solo in metal health album

  • Hes pretty decent skill wise, and his melodies here were pretty sweet. Its obviously just a quick few licks he threw together, so its an improvisation of sorts. Yall should check out my solo video its pretty sweet, i would appreciate it

  • Carlos you´re great. I want to know the title of that song. Thanks

  • Just because Carlos isn't shredding in this clip doesn't mean he cant or that he doesn't. If your a fan of any of the bands he's been in then you know he can shred. Alot of the young punks that stumble on to this clip need to do their research before they talk shit.

  • you tube doesnt suk...just the assholes that abuse player when they cant do better or even play for that matter...

  • plus alot of people who look at people who play fast think speed is all that matters... its not speed its feeling and emotion... speed is just something you pick up easily... emotion is harder to pick up.... like Paul Gilbert has emotion and speed... as well as Gus G. thats why they kick ass... i'm glad you put that out there that this guy doesn't need to shred or play fast to be a good guitar player.. its all about feeling yo! :P

  • agreed :D

  • Would have been nice to hear what Randy Rhoads woud have done......Can I get an AMEN????

  • Rory Gallagher

  • Comment removed

  • well yes it may be amazing to some..but 2 be honest..its no so good and no i cannot come close to his playing ..but then again im married and work like a dog all week..hence no time to practice..i just like to have fun on my guitar..hes is ok ..but def not not amazing

  • I like him, but this is not really amazing work... it looks like he's searching for his "Melody, feel and phrasing". I'm not trying undermine his playing- clearly he's good- but also equally clear, at least to me, he should have spent more time with this solo before letting others hear it.

  • whats so amazing about this???

  • Melody, feel and phrasing...concepts you clearly know nothing about. You'll never be able to play this good, I mean like, ever. Here's a concept for you, when you play, actually try to make a musical statement. For you that's a start lmao, actually first learn how to tune a guitar lmao.

  • You DEAF?

  • micheal angelo batio look his solos

  • carlos is cute ;)

  • thats some hard core guitar skills

  • very tasteful....underrated but not a technical player but with phrasing like that who needs to me?

  • Wow! This is a great solo!

  • This was my first instructional video. Top tasteful player.

  • does any one knows which sg model is he using?

  • 60s gibson sg special jr...same thing noddy holder used in slade

  • He changed the pick up to a humbucker though.

  • Man, you can't compare Cavazo with Rhoads.

Cavazo is great, but Rhoads was brilliant!

  • agreed,,as is satriani

  • hey Mac I bet you don't know how to play at all, so you can stfu. Carlos is an amazing guitarist. He does things that Satriani and and Randy Rhoades couldn't do, and vice versa.

  • ok hold on right there....Carlos is better than I though and I really like this phrasing but please don't compare him to Rhoads or Satriani. Carlos is more a melodic player than technical player but Rhoads and Satriani both have him beat on Melodies and never mind technical ability. but that doesn't mean Carlos Sucks or anything just different leagues.

  • The pinky is hardly ever used in lead guitar playing, kinda like when ur fingering a chick.

  • I use my pinky on the guitar, and girls have said that im god in bed, so.... heheh.....

  • lol good to know

  • And if you have the time please watch my videos - I made 2 of Cavazo´s solos: Battle Axe and C´mon Fell

  • Great guitar player, QRIII!!!!

  • back then that was a basic solo for the type of rythm that was being played, still killer...my style is alot like that, i try to incorporate it into newer stuff though. gotta love it!

  • Carlos is just adequate at what he does. His solo on "Come on Feel the Noise" was perfect for the track: simple, and melodic with great vibrato. However, don't expect a DeMartini, Lynch, or Malmsteen performance.

  • You said it yoursely "perfect" . He doesn't overplay it .

  • Unlike those three, Carlos's playing isn't just a flurry of notes. Every Malmsteen or Lynch solo sounds exactly the same.

  • good solo quiet riot 4 life!

  • I have this video lesson....................

It's you know.......80-s when every guy that played "fast" had his instructional video.............Carlos seems to be nice guy, ok playing but That guitar tone is too plastic...............

  • He's one of greatest guitar players on the earth!

  • I know where to find a pro that plays worse. Watch "We're Stars", from Hear N Aid, the twisted sister guitarist is way worse than this.

  • Unless you've played in front of 50,000 people like he has a few times, I don't think you can make that assumption. I've seen Carlos play a few times live and he would tear up the average pro player when it comes to rock and roll. He's also a decent classical player, but you won't find that on Youtube. He's "noodling" in this video and it's more tasteful than a lot out there today.

  • Audience size has no relationship to guitar abilities. I like QR music quite a bit, but c'mon, I don't even have to think to find a better guitarist. G. Moore, G. Lynch, Beach, Schon, Skolnick, Malmsteen, Blackmore, Emmit, Wylde, DeMartini. Maybe it's because I like the guitar stuff from the 80's. Cavazo probably could blow away the new gen of guitarists. He had a chance to solo on Metal Health and -- Battle Axe? It was no "End of the World", that's for sure.

  • Hi guys! Maybe Cavazo is not as gifted as Randy or many others, but he did an amazing job at MH album, maybe 'beyond' his actual guitar skills - IMHO.

  • right on bro......you said it.

  • he rox!

  • Damm good !!!

  • Dude's in Ratt now. I like this shift in membership. John Corabi wasn't a "fit", in my opinion. The new Ratt record is supposedly to be released this year (2009). Cannot wait!

  • asombro de lo mejor
